Phil Ivey may have started his own poker site in the last few months, but that hasn't stopped him from becoming the face of Jim Ryan's latest project according to Pokerfuse.
Ryan, the former CEO of bwin.party, has spawned Pala Interactive which is a new site aimed at capitalising on the "next generation" of online poker in the US.
Offering online poker and casino games in California, Pala Interactive will be backed by the Pala Band of Mission Indians.
Having formed Pala Interactive LLC in February 2013, the online site has now recruited Phil Ivey as their brand ambassador.
Although he's connected with another site, Ivey will lend his image to Pala Interactive and help take them forward as iGaming regulation continues to spread across California.
Poker meets investment

Poker players and hedge fund managers have come together to talk money at the MacroSports Conference this week.
Taking place inside the Bellagio, a number of pros, including Mike "Timex" McDonald, have been exploring the link between investment and poker.
Drawing on his own experience of staking players, McDonald explained to stock market experts how backers' money accounts for around 20%-25% of $62 million anted-up at this year's WSOP.
However, while McDonald is at the forefront of the ever-growing investment market in poker, he feels "it's probably one of the least efficient markets" he's seen.
Indeed, his latest venture, @BankofTimex, which offers odds on players, is one method McDonald feels can help the market to "correct itself".

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom (pictured right) ended another day on top of the high stakes chart with a $101,645 haul.
Although tame by his recent standards, the win was enough to put him ahead of "SallyWoo" ($99,978), "d2themfi" ($69,386) and Ronny "1-ronnyr3" Kaiser ($59,053).
At the other end of the profit spectrum "Trueteller" finished the day as the biggest loser after dropping $105,469.
Also on the wrong end of variance in the last 24 hours was "kagome kagome" (-$100,614) and "EDWARDHOPPER" (-$92,252).
Daily Signoff
Mike "Timex" McDonald might be a keen poker investor, but it's important to remember that he's also a force at the felt.
