Phil Hellmuth's next heads-up opponent announced
Which legend of the game is the Poker Brat facing next? You will certainly be surprised at this one.
Last week he proved white magic was real after beating Daniel Negreanu for a third time, taking his unbeaten run to six matches overall, so who will be Phil Hellmuth's next High Stakes Duel opponent? Phil Ivey maybe? Doug Polk? Tom Dwan?
No it is actually going to be....some guy.
Hellmuth will be facing Nick Wright next month for the first of what could be at least three high stakes matches.
High Stakes Duel III | Round 1 is set for July 28 at 8pm ET with @getnickwright @phil_hellmuth!https://t.co/WHyqBTX4kY

If you are unfamiliar with that name you are not alone. Nick Wright is a Fox Sports 1 TV host and an amateur poker player. One of the appeals of poker is that amateurs can play against professionals, and beat them, but this one did have poker fans scratching their heads. Most people have been expecting legendary matches between the best in the world, so this was a curve ball.
Could we see Dwan or Ivey next?
Wright was a guest on the No Gamble No Future podcast to introduce himself and outline his strategy against the Poker Brat:
Hellmuth has hinted, however, that should he get through the matches we could see him against one of the more legendary names next time:
This is going to be fun to watch! In the history of High Stakes Poker, we always had celebs and amateurs play. This continues that tradition. If @getnickwright wins, or I win, then next match w be against @TomDwan or @philivey #POSITIVITY https://t.co/r6e6Iw8Rz9
