Tobias Frey
Tobias Frey is a poker journalist, radio moderator, podcast producer and editor from Stuttgart, Germany.
The native of Swabia found his way to the poker tables in 2007. He was infected with the poker virus by playing home games with friends - and a little while later he ventured into the online game. After a few attempts he was able to establish himself at the low stakes from NL25 to NL100, realising that "a lot of time as well as discipline, motivation and ambition are necessary in order to become successful in poker".
For lack of time, Tobias is nowadays only sporadically active at the virtual tables. After completing a radio traineeship and his studies of sport journalism he is now working for radio stations all over Germany.
Since 2011 he is also part of the news department of PokerStrategy.com and keeps the community up to date with news, interviews and columns. Since he has established contact with many professional poker players from around the world, he often has access to exclusive information. Additionally, Tobias is often on site at events of the European Poker Tour or World Poker Tour, always keeping pencil and pad right at hand.
On top of that, he has also been producing the German PokerStrategy.com podcast since October 2011 which, released on a weekly basis, is one of the most successful poker podcasts in Germany.
