I'd also bet/call. As you say there's almost nothing in his range that beats us.
If he was scared of a straight with a set on the flop he might also just call again on the turn.
It feels like he's basically never bluffing here, but he can't have a straight and we block some setcombos so if he only has 1 or 2 semibluffs in his range like the aforementioned NFD it will already be +EV to get it in.

What do you think of his play? it seems to me that I am never bluffing here therefore his top pair is unlikely to be good.

On the other hand I could have something like TT/JJ which I did not want to SQz preflop- but then would I bet so strong again on the turn?

So overall I don't think he can expect me to fold very much when he shoves the turn. On the other hand I suppose his hand is too strong now to just fold. Was his play okay, do you think? Or should he have just called on the turn?

Its just bad playing of strong hand with draw. I played the same like year ago. The thinking is like "wow i have great draw plus i've got tp, now i beat alotofanother draws and have great equity and need to get it in!"
Btw he could really be ahead of your range wich could include fd, 56, 55 , 89 so i cant blame his game too much.

Usually when you have a pair+FD it is a very strong hand because you can get it in vs a lot of other FDs and be in great shape, but when the opponents range mostly consists of 2pair+ you're still an underdog and you don't have foldequity.

So I also think he should just call your bet, he doesn't have foldequity but he has the odds to call.

Maybe our range is even stronger, if we don't have 76o in our range he could argue for folding the turn, but imo that's too weak.
