do you enjoy poker as your only job? I mean...
Wouldn't you like to work in social job like helping other people?

Poker is like nothing more than making money and enjoying life, but what about being part of community?

if too personal or unkind for me then don't answer :f_biggrin:

Oh, while typing this message, I realised that you are part of this community, which helps other people to get better and so on, so that's very good.

but still.

aren't you afraid that tons of money will change you and your nature to being more selfish, buying useless things etc. instead of helping those in need? i mean, i've got also big plans and am quite confident that i can earn a lot of cash and then help the others but that thing above scares me a lot

im def scared a little bit. but its not like i am going to be rich from one day to another. its a very slow process over many years. that should help.

also my friends will help me i guess ;)

and consciously thinking about it before having some serious moniez should also help. but we cant be sure ofc. maybe i turn into a rich asshole

i rather be a semi poor funny and nice guy tho :f_p:

You in the blinds w AA utg opens and it's folded to you, you explain that you don't 3b v utg in FR as it's too hard to balance, I was just wondering if this is only from the blinds or from any position first in?

some years ago i played a lot of fr 400-1k on party. i rly tried out a lot and from my experience its rly tough to have a somewhat balanced 3b range vs utg and utg+1. it made things way easier to have no 3b range vs the first 2 positions. helps my flop c/r range and i dont have to worry about balancing pre. vs fish i 3b ofc.

nowadays i only play fr on rush400 when waiting for hu action. also in those games i dont 3b vs utg. but im not positive that that is the best overall strategy. it just works great for me

there is a lot of discussion going on for quite some time on that topic, i cant answer your questions in depth, as it would take me days

but in short:

- yep i enjoy poker. i like the competition and i like the moniez i can make. i probably like any similar "job". a lot of competion and a lot of money :f_cool: (maybe also trading pro in some years, who knows )

- its not social. true. but its also not unsocial imo. pretty much neutral social ev. probably +funEV for the fish and +$EV for the pros, even +$EV for the casinos. cuz we are doing our thing in a very closed environment without any impacts on rl.
if u exploit child labour as a manager or just cut some jobs only to improve some figures on your balance sheet (and ofc your yearly bonus is connected to those figures [everybody who studied business knows how easy it is to manipulate those], u are def doing less for society than we are. u are even hurting society.

nobody forces anybody to play a game. anybody who wants to play and compete can do so. but nobody has to. imo same story for all sorts of poker or other games.

anyway, longterm i will try to help society with my future business ventures. but atm its true, im living a selfish life. but its an insanely cool one. but im aware that only living for my own joy and happiness cant be everything.

i wont forget it and i think one day i can look back and be satisfied with what i did.

well, just asking because I don't enjoy playing poker. But I only need money(I want more comfortable and everyday life). And don't know if I need to get a job if I can make living from poker. (I can't today).
Just want to know if poker is one of those jobs where you go to job, sit all day and can't wait until it ends. :f_biggrin:

Well if you don't enjoy playing poker, them I'm almost certain it's not a good job choice for you.....playing it 5-8hours a day surely won't be fun and I think doing it just for the money is pointless if you don't have the desire, why not get a different job which would give you some job satisfaction?

Have you ever taken any extreme driving lessons? If yes, what car you driven there and if not a secret what was a price of lesson? If no, will you take any when you buy R8? :f_biggrin:

Hi TT!

What HUD setup would you recommend for a NL25 SH player?

At my local casino dealers can, upon request, retrieve opponents' hand from the muck in order to resolve who won the pot in this situation.

So yeah you can do things like snapcall on the river to get a muck from your opponent, but you can't snapcall, declare "nuts!" and try get them to muck.

I have a little more liberal view on this :
Imho you should not care about ANYTHING people say at the table, does not matter if it is before the hand, during or after a hand. At you should never ever base your decision assuming he is telling the truth - why would he ??

A nice example from a local club, we were playing PLO, I had KKAJ, the board came
AAKKT, we went all in on the river and the other guy says "Nut FH" .. I am like "WTF ? How does he know ??", so I say "Please show" .. He shows AJJ9 .. He was not lying, just a newbie who did not realise that he does not have a FH. So if I had a str8 or something and mucked, I would have lost. I always just wait until the other guy shows and ignore what he is saying.

So my opinion - If someone is bad enough to muck his cards based on what you say, you should definitely use it, exactly as you use a fishy behaviour or talking him into a stupid call or whatever.

I haven't really had much time to grind. Can you evaluate different games (PLO/LHE? /Mixed games/NLHU/NL6max/NLFR) on some different sites since Black Friday?

I asked this of George Lind in his well as well but:

Estimation of ROI in these live tournaments:

EPT Grand Final Main Event (ME)
WSOP ME (assume 7000 runners)
PCA ME
Aussie Millions ME (have you played this before? assume 700 runners)
APPT Sydney (same as above, assume 700 runners)
