I don't know why but today have seemed to be a very good day right from teh start, I woke up 15 min before I had to be at teh bus stop, so I quickly got dressed and ran out there and I made it (great success) :f_thumbsup:. Got to work and teh sun was already starting to shine, and for some reason I was just happy and smiling (maybe I'm going insane) :f_ugly:. Anyway I got home from work grabbed a quick bite to eat while transferring my hands back to my mac since PT4 is running way to slow for me to use it, so there is no reason for me to use windows simulator anymore. Right now I'm trying to install windows trough bootcamp although I have no idea how to..

Back to teh results I was really tired tonight, so I had to stop kinda early since I didn't felt as focused although I feel like I have been very focused all day while I was grinding. I got ~3,500 hands in today which aren't gonna cut it if I want to make 50k hands this month.

Here are some of those hands I talked about yesterday.

KK raised on dry flop facing big bet OTT, not sure if I should go with it?

AQs facing squeeze by 60bb deep BTN, known as a bad reg.

JJ, getting raised on driest flop ever 200bb deep

88, hero folding set

KK I shove all day, JJ and AQs are standard imo.. Also make a note on that guy he is either a hell of a nit, or he likes to set traps like this, 88 is questionable, ott it really looks loke he has it, however I can't imagine not shoving the flop myself.. I think we will find him holding lower set, two pairs, pair+flish draw, and nuts draw hands often enough to our set be profitable shove.. Also, even if he has it we can hit FH.. So I say shove the flop there.

I mostly agree with Frankie,

1) KK I like the fold, you should not give villain credit for knowing how to play his value hands and IMO you will be seeing a set here 75% of the time.

2) JJ standard play , I would fold is his turnbet % is lower than 30. In general you range is much stronger than his, and you have QQ-AA to call down with.

3) AQs is good if he 3 bets enough.

4) My standard is to get it in on the flop , I don't mind calling 3 bet on the flop some of the time.

But here is a question for you why do you call 3 bet on the flop, then fold a blank on the turn?

I guess that is a pretty good question as you both say this is prolly either get it in on teh flop or fold teh flop. Doesn't make sense to wait to teh turn before getting it in when we have lower equity v flushs and straight.

I starting to feel a little stressed about having to reach 50k hands this month, so far I'm only at 36k-ish, so I still have a long way to go. Right now I just feel like sayin **** it, and go play live poker instead, this is by far the most attractive idea to me right now and probably what is going to happen.

I also applied for the position as freelance translator here at pokerstrategy although I don't have a ton of experience in the field, so I will have to send a translation today as well in order to stay in the "race" for the position. I feel like it would be a lot of fun, and as a 20 year old kid it will probably not hurt to write it on teh CV.

Last night I went to bed at 16:00 so I could wake up and play poker at around midnight for multible reasons, 1. I'm terrible at getting up in teh morning, so playing until I have to go to work would mean that I wouldn't oversleep, 2. I think the games are much softer at that time, 3. I was pretty tired, so no reason pushing it too much. Anyway that didn't happen, I woke up at 20:30-ish because someone was listening to loud techno outside my room.. So I went up and played for 1.5 hours, then I went out to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat. When I got out there some of my house mates was sitting and drinking, so why not join them? This ended up being a pretty fun night, went to bed around 03:00, so I still got a good 3 hours of sleep before having to go to work.

Today I think I will go into city centre and play a UKIPT after I have sent the translation, hopefully not get knocked out too early.

When I came home yesterday there were no internet connection because we forgot to pay the internet bill which is quite unfortunate, but hopefully it will be up and running in a couple days.

Last night I went in to play a 110e tournament at the venue, didn't go too well, I was out after about 45 min, got into a couple bad spots QQ < T3hh on 874hh 6 2h for about 3k. And the final hand 43dd < Q7 on AQTddd Q AI ott and he binked a 7 otr. Not much to do in those situations, think I played both of those hands pretty well, could have bet a bit more ott in the QQ hand. I might also have spewed a bit in a couple other spots, but overall running pretty bad.

Went to play some CG afterwords, it was NL200e, so I decided to be a faggy shortstacker (25bb) which worked out pretty well, I got up to 150e at some point, but cashed out for 100e at the end of the night. The highlight of the CG was in a straddled pot UTG+1 raise to 10, two guys call, asian guy raise to 60, everybody folds around to the last caller who shovs for about 300, asian guy snapcalls, boards bricks out first guy shows AQ, asain guy shows Q6 which hit a 6.. ♦

I'm definitely going to the venue to play another 110e again tonight, I think this one will be FR which suits me better, and hopefully run a bit better, might also go play CG again if I get knocked out early on.

Yesterday I went in to play the 110e FR turbo at UKIPT. I think I was a bit too spewy wednesday, so I tried to play more solid yesterday, didn't get too many hands and by the first break I was about to be BB with 3200 chips left (4bb) left, a couple orbits later I was at around 50k, when we were 36-ish left I think I was close to the chip lead with 76.5k, but from then on it went downhill, got a calling station a couple places to my left who basically called and hit everything, so went back down to around 50k, and when the buble burst with 17 man left I was left with 5-6bb and had to move in as soon as I got a hand, two more people got knocked out before I got QJ from UTG with 3bb left and got it in vs KQ board ran TJx x 9, and that was it. Got 210e for the 15th place.

Went to play some CG afterwords where I was on fire, bought in for 60e (30bb), got up to 70e and wanted to leave but got T8cc, saw a flop for 15e five-way, got it in on a KQxcc flop, x turn, xc river, a guy who donk shoved flop with K4o afterwords started trashtalking me for the call. Ended up cashing out 455e, so overall a pretty good day!

Today there is not exciting tournaments on the program for me, so I will enjoy a quite day for once, just watching some white collar and sleeping after getting 3 hours in avg the last five nights.

Although I have really enjoyed playing live theese past days it's gonna be nice to get back to online poker for a while again. I figured I would write a little sum up of my UKIPT experience and what my plans are for this month.

I played 4 events in this series and overall I'm pretty happy about how I played, the first event I took a cooler as mentioned earlier, the second event I feel like I play decent, maybe I still need to adjust some more to specific player types. The tird event was a hyper turbo sat to a 330e tour, I got knocked out about 5 spots before the money which sucked, but what can you do. Last event I played pretty bad, I doubled early, but spewed a huge pot with a bluff on a 3KQddd3 board, where he decided to stick with AKhh, and I didn't complete my JTxd on the river.

The cash games on the other hand went really well, overall the games are insanely soft, people are either maniacs or droolers so really easy money. I will just list a couple memorable hands for me. The first that come to mind was a hand where BTN open to 7e, SB calls I squeeze 23e with A7hh from BB, BTN fold SB call, flop is T86xhh, SB donks 25e I had around 80 left so I shoved, SB snaps it off and I figured I needed a h, but she turned over 45dd...

Another "fun" hand UTG and UTG+1 limps, I raise to 8e with 55, drunk guy flats, BTN flats, UTG and UTG+1 flats, flop TT5, UTG check, UTG+1 puts in 100e, i stick my 125e-ish in, BTN calls and UTG+1 calls, turn 6, river 6 BTN turns over QT. Atleast he was short so I got my 130e-ish back.

My live results have been pretty decent imo, lost 275e in tours made 490e in CG, so up 215e which i spent most off on caps and drinks for the laidies.

I have been playing at the sporting emperium and the service there are excelent, very friendly staff, free finger food and drink and most importantly a very cute waitress. I will definitely be a regular down there and try to play almost every weekend atleast one night.

Online I hope to play more than last month, very low volume, mediocre results and ended up donating 100 bucks to charity since I didn't play 50k hands. This month I hope to play atleast 65k hands and be able to build a solid roll for 10NL again.

This month I actually also want to travel somwhere, not sure where I will go yet, maybe London just because it's easy, cheap flight, I like the city and I'm starting to know it a little. Malta is a bit expensive, so I probably won't go there, maybe Prague if I can scoope some cheap tickets. We will see, I will update when I know more about it.

To finish off, we will finally get a new router and internet today, so I will be able to play online again.

I haven't really played that much since my last update, to be more specific I have only played one session. Having a life away from poker, going out and having fun have for some reason felt more attractive than playing poker, I just don't enjoy it completely since I feel like I should be playing more.

Yesterday I finally got installed bootcamp on my mac on got windows 7 and all the drivers/updates installed, I also got PT4, HM2 and pokerstars installed and all my hands imported into both databases. All I need now is to get my HUD imported in PT4 and I'm ready to go. I really hope it will be able to run zoom along with PT4 without lacking too much.

I decided to make a lockdown challenge on saturday, I want to play 20k hands between when I wake up saturday and 12.00 sunday, that should be fairly easy, but I forgot Friday is St. Paddys day and I'm definitely going out, so the challenge of the lockdown challenge depends on how drunk I get. To end it off I have a friend who just released his first music video to the single from the bands first EP. At first I thought it was "meh", but now I can't get it out of my head.

I realise that it's been a while since my last update, mainly because I have been too lazy to do anyhing poker related or I have been too busy playing (if that makes sense). Today I just felt like expressing my feeling towards my plans with poker.

I'm feeling a bit down today, tired, been running bad and I think I'm starting to get down with a cold, so I might sound a bit pessimistic.

I have never tried to hide the fact that this entire month I have been mad lazy and barely played at all. My goal for the month was 75,000 hands, right now I'm at 29,000, so although I will try to get there it won't be easy.

Since Saturday I have been grinding with an acceptable pace, but the last couple of days I have been running into a lot of bad spots, I won't go as far as calling it a downswing, but a couple more sessions like this and it might be considered a downswing. The last couple days also got me thinking about my future in poker, and I don't want to be stuck at the micros forever, I won't hide the fact anymore that I dream of one day being able to quit my boring job and play for a living, but right now it just feel so far away that it's actually a bit demoralizing.

I'm not really sure what I want to start improving, but I will start reviewing my game and try to point out flaws and hopefully get better and slowly start crushing while moving up through the limits. I'm fully aware that it's a long way, but I believe that one can get as far as one is willing to work, and "I want this real bad".

Also from next month I will try to schedule my free time much better so I don't end up doing nothing all the time like I have been doing this month.

I haven't been very active on pokerstrategy lately, but figured it would be fun to return to the blog forum since I always have fun posting, but I have a tendency to drop them and after some time start a new one, so by now I probably have around 5 open blogs, so rather than start a new one I figured I would just bump this one. This might actually be more of a challenge than a blog which I will return to in a bit.

I returned to the online grind in August after I've been playing live for a couple of months. I made some money from it, but it really fucks up your sleep schedule which kinda sucks when you have a normal day job monday - friday.

I started at NL2 for a couple reasons, first of all I lost all kind of idea about fundamentals, opening ranges, frequencies, etc when I was playing live and I figured it would be cheaper to re-learn that on lower limits. By the end of August I was taking shots at NL10 when I had 25 BI's, but lost 10 BI's, so back to NL5. I have now been grinding NL5 this month and feel really good about my game and feel ready to move up whenever my bankroll allows it. Currently I'm not looking at results which is making me feel way better about myself, so I don't even know what my bankroll is at, but I could imagine that by the end of this month I will be ready to take a new shot at NL10. I will look at my results when I finish my session tonight as we are know half way through the month.

I haven't really done any studying at all beside watching a few videos by some 2p2 regs I really admire like TonnaMunz, Mayo the Don and SmbSmbSmb. I feel like I learn more from my own experience at the tables.

The reason that this might be more of a challenge than a blog is that my plan is at December 1st I will move to Malta, and by then I would very much like to be a NL25 reg as I don't plan on getting a job before going there and if I find a cheap grind house there with some other regs I will very likely try giving poker a serious shot while looking for jobs there.

Alright, I promised an update and tbh I have felt really bad about not getting it done, but I have just had so much to do the last couple of days and on top of that my friends have ben nagging me to get drunk and play video games, but I have stayed strong and not done either too much!

Anyway here is the update! There was multiple surprises when I looked at my graph and stats for the month. First of all I was really surprised about how nitty I have been playing (13/11/4) but I have been 22 tabling lately, so I guess thats part reason for it. Anyway, you know what they say, or should say, it's all about the numbers and I have been running really well and beaten NL5 really solidly IMO, but take a look yourself.

Since then I have been playing NL10, not really a lot of volume as I have only been 12 tabling because last time I took a shot I played 15 tables for 12 hours straight ending at 10 o'clock in the morning and that didn't work well.. So figured I would take the non-degen road this time. I have really been running insanely good, don't remember losing a flip at any point (small sample though). Games does seem a lot different though, I don't really run over the tables as I used to, but that could be because I just moved up and not as familiar with the regs yet.

Yesterday I did some hard work on my game (railed Doug Polk) and pick up a really nice line he took with a boat (22) on 296 9 rainbow board where he donked turn for 20% pot in order to bet big OTR which seemed really smart and definitely a move I will try out.

Also I watched Joeingram1's podcast with Chris "GoMukYaSelf" Sparks. Joeys podcasts are always really good, but this one was probably the best I have seen, so much information about bettering your life in really smart ways. I will definitely recommend everybody to watch it!!

Been running kinda mehh the last couple of days, so I'm not really in the mood to play a ton today. I like to blame it on bad variance, but usually the reason for bad results is bad play, so I have been looking into my stats in PT4 and found some stuff I need to work on. I seem to be defending a little too wide from EP (could be because of bad sizing from villains), defending too tight from BTN, not 3 betting enough and overall just playing too tight. My PFR won't be super high due to a lot of limping in my strategy, but 14/10 is too nitty IMO!

I played a short session today where I tried using an opening range hand chart and I got up to 18/12 (very small sample, 1,5k hands) which I see as an improvement, I took some annoying beat though, so decided to end the session early. I have already played ~30,000 hands this week, so I'm gonna take the day off to hang with some friends and try to get my head on straight for tomorrow.
