NLHE
I decided to take a break from 5-Card Draw over the last couple of days.
I'm working on a project to create a 5-Card Draw hand replayer that will replay select hands from either an fpdb or pokerhands database.

Being totally unable to single-task, I had a single party poker NL 2 table open on the other monitor.
The last two steep drops in the blue line represent the start of the two sessions.
I wish I knew why it is that I play like a total fish until I've lost a BI (or two)

Anyway, enough of that.
Now for some 5-Card Draw...

Peace,
VS

On 5-Card Deadness
I set myself a goal today of getting my office all cleaned up.
My reward was to play a $1.10 NL 5-Card Draw MTT

I had an open-raising hand right at the start, but had to fold KK unimproved post-draw.

For the next half hour I lost a wee pot now and again.

Then I won two small pots in a row, then these two:

The two hands were consecutive, making 4 hands in a single orbit.
This gave me an average stack, which I maintained to a mincash.

I've posted a weird one over in Other Poker Variants if you'd care to have a look.

You should stop by more often borisian.
You need to play more 5cud

I'm learning a whole bunch of new stuff, such as: "In a 3-way pot where everyone drew 1, trip 3s isn't likely to be good vs a lead-off bet"

And so, from the department of "Post-Draw Folding":
Poker Stars $0.25/$0.50 Limit 5 Card Draw - 6 players
Feral Cow is down! Standby Hand Converter deployed

SB draws 1, BB draws 2, Hero draws 1, MP draws 1
Hand: 6♥: 4♥: 3♠: 3♣: 3♦:
SB bets, BB folds, Hero folds, MP calls

Final Pot: 6 BB
SB shows 8♣: 8♦: 8♥: 7♠: 7♥: (a full house, Eights full of Sevens)
MP mucks Q♠: 8♠: J♥: 9♦: T♥:
SB wins 5.72 BB
(Rake: $0.14)

As an added treat, we have this hand, from the department of "You called with WHAT?!"
Poker Stars $0.25/$0.50 Limit 5 Card Draw - 5 players

Pre Draw: (1.4 SB) Hero is SB with A♥: K♥: Q♥: J♠: 8♥:
UTG folds, CO folds, BTN raises, Hero 3-bets, BB folds, BTN calls

First Draw: (7 SB) (2 players)
Hero draws 1, BTN draws 3
Hand: A♥: K♥: Q♥: 8♥: 6♥:
Hero bets, BTN calls

Final Pot: 5.5 BB
BTN mucks 9♠: 7♠: 7♥: 4♦: 4♠:
Hero shows A♥: K♥: Q♥: 8♥: 6♥: (a flush, Ace high)
Hero wins 5.26 BB
(Rake: $0.12)

Have a great weekend everyone!

nerdalicious...
A lot of the clips in this video were "Astronomy Picture of the Day" features, but it is cool to have them all together.

Enjoy,

Cathop Gets Lucky
Although the PokerStrategy.com glossary is fairly extensive, it is missing the definition of "cathop" or "cat hop", which is a term meaning "draw two to a straight flush"

It is not a money-maker, but if you have one, and the other two cards are drek, what are you to do?
Odds against making the flush: 23:1
Odds against making the straight: 33:1 against <== this looks wrong.
Odds of making the straight flush: I never finished calculating it, but the terms "snowball" and "hell" kept entering the equation.

Anyway, I had fun with a cat-hop today.
So did the cat...

I did not know FT had 5-Card Draw other than pot limit.
I'll check out their tournaments.

I pulled my bankroll off there as soon as I could after they came back, but I might have a few scraps left.

No, I don't -- and I didn't last too long. _cry:
I started w/ 2/3 avg stack, and built it up to average, but got outdrawn a couple of times and couldn't recover.

How did you do?
Or (hopefully) How are you doing?

OK -- I found you.
