Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

$0.05/$0.1 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BU with J:s, A:c.
7 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: (5.00 SB) 6:s, 6:d, 3:c (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

Turn: (3.50 BB) 4:h (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

River: (5.50 BB) 9:s (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 5.50 BB.

Results follow (highlight to see):

Hero shows a pair of sixs (Js Ac)
SB shows a pair of sixs (Qh Ad)
SB wins with a pair of sixs (Qh Ad).

I always seem to get caught up in this type of hand and not entirely sure if i'm playing it right.

Hello!

I don't know what's with the trend of posting results, but please don't post them...

As for the hand, I think you can easily check behind on turn because you don't have much fold equity on that turn. On this river a busted draw or K high might try to bluff you so if he donks river you can call because you have showdown value with your A high.

If turn was a face card you should fire the second barrell because you have fold equity.

As for posting the results, I thought i was meant to post my hands with the '(highlight to see)' option. My bad, sorry..

I actually like the way u played it, sure we dont have fold equity on that turn but he will call with almost his whole range on that flop so im betting the turn for free showdown plus as protection against his possible 6 outs or some gutshots he might picked up on turn.

Yes I agree with you, but he is only a bronze member and I thought betting for a free showdown is a little too advanced for him. If he was silver, I agree with your line as we have showdown value with A high :).
