JJ in difficult preflop spot

Cold-calling the 3Bet is normally "set is or forget it" OTF, but here you have an overpair and an open-ender.
I don't think most CO ranges include 3Betting QJ vs UTG, so unlikely he has straight or sets -- and you block straights.
That leaves AA,KK,QQ -- and possibly AK and AQ that could play this way.
Of those hands, you beat AQ

getting 25% on a call have 8 outs to the straight 2 to the trips which could be good 10 outs x2 = 20% and your hand could be good some % of the time vs a 10Qs/10As maybe.
It's kind of whatever his range is abit more nutted because it's mutiway and he 3b UTG so i think folding is fine. Either way it's not a great spot. I'd think folding might be the best play here and if not it's only going to be slightly less EV. Which can be made up for in the time it takes to click fold an move to the next hand. Lol.:f_drink:

Have you info about his CO vs UTG 3bet frequency?

my first thought is "jam flop" yes, it's a semi-bluff, we can also jam our sets of course. a multiway cbet on this board should be really strong though, so maybe you don't have enough fold equity.
on the turn, the spr is probably too low for villain to fold anything, at a glance i wonder if we can ever call and donkjam any scare cards... (flush, 4 to straight)

Preflop: Please do not ever play a flat call 3bet strategy. Even if you look at preflop solutions from the solvers, they usually recommend playing 4bet or fold at 100BB.

If we assume that most people 3bet about 3% in CO vs UTG+1 at this limit, we should probably only cold 4bet a range that is 0.5 X this 3% range. Which means that we should only cold 4bet AK, KK and AA.

I would definitely fold JJ, and probably fold QQ unless I felt this guy was 3betting more aggressively than others.

As played this is like the perfect flop to check/raise all-in. You're never too far behind, who knows you might be able to fold out QQ, you can rep TT-88 really hard when you coldcall a 3bet.

Fold preflop. Yes, you have a sexy hand, but you are OOP, that guy might have a high 3b, but he's 3betting CO vs UTG, which means his range should be pretty strong.
What are you going to do if BB decides to 4b/jam? You're going to fold. Your investment in this pot is 0.5bb, why are you putting yourself in a tough spot?
You could 4b/fold because he's not going to jam worse hands such AQs, TT, etc. vs a cold 4b and his jamming range is going to be QQ,AKo+, but still, I prefer folding preflop without any further reads. I'll 4b/get in with QQ+,AKo.

As played, you "have" all the sets here, the opponent might (not) depending on how he plays preflop. He shouldn't flat much in the CO, but he probably does.
That's why you should x/r get in OTF.

See? You cold call 3b OOP, the board is amazing for you, and yet you don't feel confident in putting more money in.

You'll see an overcard most of the time and if you end up folding, you're losing money.

The best boards for you are J42xx, 233xx, etc. but I doubt you'll even be too happy to call him down 3 streets on a low board.
