Was having a horrendous session on .02/.05 Zone - down almost 2 buyins. Then this hand happened which I thought would be $$$$$$ but ended up being the opposite. Am I just the worst poker player in the world? I'm on a $50 downswing playing low stakes online and a roughly $1800 downswing in live $1/2 after being up $1600.
UTG (main villain) $18.54
SB (hero) $7.54
UTG raises 2x to .10
BTN calls.
I call in SB with K♠:9♠:
Pot is .32
We go 3 ways to flop of Q♦:Q♣:J♣:
Not much going on for me ... just a gutter.
UTG bets .10, BTN folds
Bc it's just .10, I figure I can stay in the hand and maybe hit my gutter. Feels like UTG has
which is why he bet so little ... so I figure I can get paid off big if I hit my ten
He might even just have a jack, which means my king is live ... who knows.
With .52 in pot, turn comesQ♦:Q♣:J♣:8♠:
Oooh so close. I check, hoping he doesn't bet too much.
Villain bets .30 into .52
I definitely do NOT have the pot odds to draw to my gutter although I really put villain on a queen here and I know I can make a major payday if that ten hits .... so I decide to make the call. (I guess you'd call that implied odds)
With 1.12 in pot ... river comes Q♦:Q♣:J♣:8♠:T♣: BOOM!!!
Yes! Yes! Yes!! I'm elated! This is the hand to get me out of the hole. Straight against flopped trips! He'll never be able to give this up.
Thinking it would seem fishy to lead out, I check to him because I know he'll bet again with his trips.
He does bet ... 1.20 into 1.12 .... bingo!
I raise to $4. He calls .... shows 3♣:2♣: for the frickin' flush
Like what?!?!?
I did NOT put him on a flush draw? Am I right?
Why would a flush draw make small flop and turn bets on a QQJ8 board? If I show any aggression, he needs to fold his draw. Doesn't make sense IMO
Like I said at the beginning though, I may be the worst poker player on this site
