I am kinda confused with not showing your cards.

Not even close. A lot of people dont understand that you can call preflop wider when you get better odds due to smaller raise sizing, not when you get better odds due to cold calling players.

You can check GTOWizard. For example 150bb deep(on 100bb it has almost no cold calls OOP to 3bet) we have action CO opens 2.5bb, BU 3bets 7.5bb.
When blinds folds CO is supposed to defend 53,5% of range. If we add BB cold call then suddenly CO should defend only 39,7% of hands.
Identical logic applies to spots when we defend BB. We need to give up on playing more hands when BU flats than if we will be HU postflop.

It's like a guessing game you play.

Yeah, I thought so. I blundered here for sure.

This I think is the big flaw in open-raising small.
In the early days (pre black friday) it was recommended to open 4x from EP - CO and SB and 3x from BU — this was to deny BB pot odds to call.
Now I see BU opening 2x a lot — now BB can call with nearly anything.
It's OK to play with small open raises, just expect the 3Bets and be ready to play 3Bet pots post-flop more than we used to

You get it wrong. People were opening 4x because 3betting range was very strong to point that AK was considered as fold to 3bet from early positions. And so people didnt 3bet much so you could just open big. Game evolved and now people put a lot more bluff 3bets. This obviously punishes big open sizes as you leave more money on pot when folding.

Also you dont want to deny equity for BB. You have position and in your best interest is to keep BB on wide range as it makes easier game postflop for you.

I'll still fold AK to a 3Bet — but that is more to do with who is coming behind me. The alternative for me is to 4Bet.
Don't get me wrong — I'm beginning to like the small open sizing. If you open 2.4BB from BU, and get 3Bet from BB to 6 or 7BB it isn't much different than opening 3x and getting min 3Bet.

Also, a lot of times there is no need to 3Bet in BB vs a BU open — you have odds to call with a wide range, and there is almost no way for BU to tell what you likely hold.

This still goes on. There is a reg in the RC game that always opens to 7xBB. I have a question. What size 3bet do you use for 3bet vs that player?

What is their stack size? I would consider shoving, but with a tighter 3Bet range than I would use if I was 3Betting a 2.5 or 3x open raiser

At least 100BB ESS but often deep on multiple tables. It's super annoying when it's from the BTN vs SB/BB.

Yeah, pretty sure, how do you know that? I'll write down the name next time.

I think I 3bet him twice pre for value and he folded so he is doing that with hands on the chart but maybe narrower ranges.

The first time I played him, I had 88 on SB and he raised to 7BB on BTN and I didn't know what to do so I folded but I would've hit a top set on flop. lol

Then its very likely you play with legend from PokerStars Zoom. Guy plays with 14 vpip on 6 max tables but his range is very polarized. I have note on him that he opens 74s from MP for 7bb. Try small 4bets against him, When I was playing with him he was folding over 70% to 4bet. Its also unlikely he will notice as his favorite routine was 8 zoom tables at once. Also you shouldn't be afraid that much postflop - his standard sizing is pot.

edit: his nickname was 'di Rossi81'

On GGP, it's Fritzie, from Netherland.

I know di Rossi81, some people think he is a reg fish for some reasons.
