Yeah I will move down or out of this challenge ![]()

I unexpectedly encountered another downswing following the one I experienced on Nl5. The nits, regs, and fishes proved to be better than me on every hand. Now, I find myself demotivated, lacking any drive to continue playing. Although my bankroll is still at a respectable $200, it's disheartening considering I was so close to reaching $400 at one point. I'm feeling a sense of sadness about it.
I'm uncertain about my next steps. In the past, when faced with rough patches like this, I tended to give up and divert my attention to playing games like League or World of Warcraft. Fortunately, I don't feel drawn to WoW at the moment, which is a silver lining.
I sincerely hope that you all are doing much better than I am.
That's a painfull run. Hopefully this week gives you're confidence back with a nice upswing
That's tough, but you have to push on.
This is an interesting article that might help you. best way to end a downswing...
Sometimes I think that the Pokerstrategy team is reading everyone's blogs and try to help as much as possible, with articles and studies. This is one of the reasons that I like this platform a lot.
I was looking at a spreadsheet you published on 2020 in a forum.
I guess I have some questions. Would you kindly answer them?
V 3B...........means versus 3B?
B 3B...........means Bet 3b?

Hi Albbie2024,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com ![]()
I cannot say for certain, however if you let us know what forum post the spreadsheet is in, someone will have a look and hopefully answer.
Since as a basic member, you aren't able to post links, do this:
Open the post that has the spreadsheet
Copy everything in the address bar of your browser
Paste it into a reply to this post, but remove the http:// from the start.
Hopefully that will work
I meant in the excel picture posted by AgapieGheorghe in "Create your own range display tool using a spreadsheet ".
down 15 stacks in 9k hands? That's something to work on. I haven't played NL10 but at NL5 if I had that I would seriously consider that I am doing something wrong.
You guys keep poking this old blog. Do you guys wanna make me come back ?
I didn't played in ages

Hey Albbie !
V 3b means value 3bet.
B 3B actualy means Bluff 3bets.
In the next picture you will see we have 3.77% Value hands and vs a 3bet we keep going with them if we face a 4bet. And we also have 4.52% bluff 3bets and we fold if we face a 4b.

V 3b means value 3beat. <------------------------ You meant 3bet instead of 3beat?
Hey VisionBoard,
I actually haven’t played any poker since my last downswing during that “challenge” back in August 2023.
But this month, I started watching some blogs around here and listening to a few poker podcasts and that sparked the urge to click some buttons again at NL2, just for fun. I’ve thought about making a comeback a few times over the past month, but honestly, it’s been hard to find the motivation to grind again, especially doing it all alone.
This are the stats of my grind, just pressing buttons and no study at all, I dont even remember my ranges after so long.

Thank you for sharing AgapieGheorghe

That's nice, "just for fun" is important
I tried grinding many times, but felt tired and gave up, haha.
Stats are pretty nice! I can't win at 2NL fast on GG. PokerStars's one is easier, but got tougher compare to 5 years ago.
Let's enjoy and play
Was denkst du darüber? Und wenn du Pausen machst, wie organisierst du sie, damit du den Rhythmus nicht verlierst und dein Bankroll nicht unnötig leidet?
Thanks man, I really appreciate that
downswings are brutal, but rakeback and bonuses definitely help when you’re grinding regularly.
About breaks: You should take short 5-10 minute breaks every 60-90 minutes. Walk away, hydrate, or grab a snack, anything to reset mentally.
And if you ever feel your focus slipping, leave entirely. I've punted off more stacks from playing tired than I have from bad beats
