I might raise/fold on flop and c/f other streets. I think its better than playing blind with your hand.

You can think of just folding preflop wiht your hand beacuse it's too often dominated and you are OOP.

More often than not I'll just fold preflop for the reasons kymupa stated.

Otherwise I'll play it like you did, just because I don't think you'll get good enough information from a bad player by raising the flop. Sure he might 3-bet you something and you're somewhat sure you're beat and can fold after giving him a bunch of money. But given that he only bet 1/3 pot to begin with, who's to say he will 3-bet his very big hands instead of being sneaky with them. He might also bet/call worse Ax hands and decide to bet them again on the turn anyway when you inevitably check the turn to him. I'd rather just call down if he continues to make smallish bets.
