OTT, Villain has 2pair, trips, straight, boat here.
His bluffs are A6 and T9 mainly.
Do you continue on the turn, or do you just give it up and wait for better spots?

yea tricky spot, strong play by villain, I think without any kind of backdoor draw I am letting it go.

K8s is a loose open I think from the MP spot or table is tight.
Without any reads or stats on villain I would give up the turn.

Cheers,

That turn bet makes it look so much like a draw that bricked. The 5 makes a fold harder now. A pair + a draw? But I don't think calling is a good idea, and if we do what are we doing on the river? The only river card I would want to see is a 8.

Yes, impressive.
With K5s what do you do with 3Bets?
There are so many hands behind you, and if you're opening that wide -- even on fast-fold tables -- players are soon going to catch on.

Monte,
So you have a tracker or anything to show results of this strategy. I would be curious if playing that wide and stealing that much from MP what its winrate- compared to the times you get 3bet and need to fold/ defend out of position…

If you do have a + winrate with this Strategy, I am wondering by how much? Considering even the best of players biggest winrates are in BTN and CO.. I would guess that RFI is probably about 22% if you go to Q9s+J9s+TT-22 AKo-A10o then add in suited connectors down to 65s. Give he take..

I recently started to play those ranges. They tend towards suited broadways, aces and kings.
I am not opening other suited connectors from MP. Overall open from MP ~21%

Here are my stats of recently. However, not a sample size.

Yes I use GTO wizard as well, I was curious just about the results of it at the limit that you play.

Monte,
so i was curious and had to go look at wizard. It does open K5s 100% so yes it is GTo approved i guess. but here is a little bit of my issue, if you open up the EV screen on solutions the play is +0.01 EV. I mean i could be reading it wrong, I just see that play is very dependent on table dynamics, rather then every time you get K5s it is a 2.5x RFI.. IMO.. all of this is at 50NL... the GTO may not work for NL5, the EV could be worst as well.

I also need to do some more work on wizard I have neglected it since I did a premier membership :f_cry:

I hear you. I never said that I don't adjust to table dynamics, and I am well aware that K5s is the absolute bottom of the opening range.
Also, +0.01BB seems insignificant, but it makes a difference of 1BB/100, which I will gladly take.
Then, if we assume that in reality the EV is close to 0, including this hand into our range increases the EV of our complete strategy.

Obviously, NL5 pool deviates from optimal strategy a lot. So what are the deviations that you assume the population makes that could make opening K5s from MP as default (vs unknown opponents) -EV? And how certain are you that your assumptions are accurate?

Also noteworthy to consider how much rake affect in limit you play. Its probably quite a bit higher rake compared to gto solution if that is for NL100 or higher.

Monte,
+.01 I hear you and understand it does add up, 100 times of k5s working preflop makes 1bb, except for the times it doesn’t.

As for assumptions, I don’t think I made any, I was curious on the information you gave, which you screen shot your information. If that is in PT4 you can break it down more into the starting hand visual and by position and can see your EV on hand selection…. PM and I can send you a few pictures of it/ how to do.

I think k5 is an interesting opening, I am just kinda curious how many times and how much you need it to work to make it a winning hand at MP or does it open you up to making more with AA KK- I find it to be a pretty neat discuss…. I am going to look at my database when I get time.. where does the EV really come from? And I am surprise is isn’t a losing starting hand in long run? Things for me to look into. And does rake matter?

Cheers be safe hopefully we keep convo going.
