I don't even know, this hand made my head spin. at 2nl sometimes I find myself leveling my thoughts into thinking these opponents will play top pair strong kicker like this and I can shove and be called by worse. Do you think this is a mistake and what advice would you give for facing 2nl opponents and these spots, and what are your thoughts about villain's range given his line of play? thanks for all feedback!!!

I figure we could 3-bet pre, that was probrably a mistake to just call. I have a hard time remembering all the player types without a hud I should probrably post the hands directly after playing so its fresh in my memory but I am exhausted after a long session. Any recommended HUD's for a cheap price? I think both opponents were pretty high vpiping

can we bet our hand for value and protection on the turn?

Agreed

As played The only thing I would suggest is that if you're going to call the raise on the river, just shove it yourself.

Don't waste money on any premade huds. I assume you have PT4 or HM3? If yes just start with basic hud with few different stats and change it as needed. If not then I would recommend to get one of those. Personally I like PT more.

For hand I would 3bet preflop and not fold to 4bet.

Flop and turn are fine. River I would shove though I think just calling is not bad either. Issue in shove is if we actually beat more than 50% of his call range. If we covered villain I don't mind raise-folding. But yeah just calling river is likely too nitty.

Reason I don't like heroes sizing on river is that we are getting such absurd price when villain shove that folding is not really option. But if villain has weaker he likely fold or call. Which means if we call shove we lose maximum to better and win less when villain call weaker.

Based on what these folks are saying, I think my line would be wrong but I would have 3bet pre and then folded to 4bet shove.
I likely would have called a small 4 bet but gone immediately into set mine mode (pretty close to fit/fold the flop).
My justification is that I was losing lots of BB doing the right thing in situations like this and the one you find yourself in the river.
Sure, micro stakes players can and do bluff but not that much when the money is all in.

As played, I would have raise folded the river for the same reasons (above). I've found my profits went up significantly when I started giving river aggression a lot more credit.

Raise/fold the river would be really insane move. If you would raise like hero did you need to call only 56c more in a pot over more than $4. So this would be a clear call or shove spot on the river. Read less i would shove. Still enough change you get action of weaker hands than a flush.

Cheers,

3bet pre is much better imo and as played im not raising the river i like just calling your not even close to the nuts. The Jh blocks the flush so makes it a good bluff catch i just don't see what worse can call a river re raise here so i don't think there's any value in the raise.

True, the villain was playing alot of pots so I wasnt sure if I could give him only nut range. Ive seen some mind boggling stuff at these stakes. I am ahead of all two pairs and sets, I thought he might have a hand like KQ,QJ or something. Its tough because some players play in a manner where they’re raising ranges are but hands and some other players do it with worse than the nuts. I’n finding difficulty trying to accurately gauge when they have a legitimate range compared to when they’re ranges are not super strong because 2nl is crazy . Its really tough for me to figure out sometimes it can be a guessing game at times because of how some bad these players can be.

I dont have any hud or poker tracker at all, I obeserve and take notes at the table. Any recommendations on a hud for a cheap price? I dont really have the money for one but I feel like Im gunna need one for multi tabling , too hard to observe every table all the time while running 4 tables

As said I would recommend PT4. 100$ for holdem version or 65$ for small stakes holdem version. I believe small stakes is up to NL50 (not sure though). If possible use money outside of poker bankroll for it. There is also one month free trial option here in PS it seems: https://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-software-tools/poker-tracker-4/

There are totally free softwares as well but I have no experience on those.

why does villain stop betting turn if he has a good made hand ? this confuses me.

On the river I believe I left a bit behind for a psychological, sometimes players feel more inclined to call when they know they will still have some stack remaining behind, If you shove them all in they may just fold. I'm sure this tactic is something that is not needed but I have been experimenting with it every once in a while.

To protect their checking range they want some flushes to check on the turn to you.

I dont think they are thinking about balance at 2nl. But I guess they could check flushes because it can be hard to bet, bet, bet and get value, maybe he was hoping to checkraise turn but that didnt work so he polarized river

1. 3bet 100% there.
2. On turn its better to bet JJ without heart as you have easy decision vs x/r(fold). With Jh yo would need to throw a lot of equity when folding
3. Ok, lets think what he is trying to tell us. He used almost pot size bet - so he either has very strong hand or nothing. I would say that flushes and straight are majority of his valuebetting range. To raise there you need to be certain that he will have enough two pairs and lower sets that are ready to bet/call on river which I dont think is good assumption unless you know he is big whale. So in the end I think its just call. I would prefer raising against half pot or lower.

Depends on the stakes you are playing, you can get HM3 or PT4 small stakes for around $60, DriveHUD2 small stakes for $40. All three have free trial, i suggest trying them out first and check which fits you.

Hand2Note is free and has best HUD from all of them. However you need to put a bit work into constructing your own hud.

Is there a way in the free basic version to have Hand2Note HUD show Villains 3-betting % and AF? or flop and turn c-betting %?

so he pots the River right. if you raise, which weaker hands are calling? his big bet is quite a strong move. i think it is bluff or QQ that he checked the turn with to see what you do.

i think just calling is totally fine. the reason for this: what weaker hands will call the raise? his move is quite strong so when you raise it looks super strong. so unless he is huge very showdown bound fish i think you are either beat or he will fold his bluff to raise, no?

UpswingPoker? Why do you pay for awesome advices if you are not going to follow the advices? Watch the lab videos again, study the charts, and go on. I was struggling with NL2 when I entered UpswingPoker, now I'm playing poker for living at NL100 winning more than $1,000/day simply following the basic strategy of the lab plus avoiding fast fold tables. With the lab strategy you could easily reach WRs higher than 10 bb/100 or even more than 15 bb/100 on NL2. And by the way, I don't use any HUD.

I will give you a few tips to get over from microstakes:
(1) Try to use all your advantages, and don't overestimate your skill edge. Even at NL100 I see a lot of "regs" who play 6 or even more tables at once, yet they are losing or break even players, and the key reason is they go too far from the equilibrium. Like one guy who Cold 5B jam vs my 4B with 55 because he saw me 4Betting with K6s. So, even if I bluff a little more than usual players, it doesn't mean you can profitable Cold 5B bluff. Snowie would only go with AA against me on that spot, so maybe he could consider KK+, but generally speaking 55 was absurd. Even an A5s would be more reasonable than simply 55.
(2) So, as you can't beat the house, you should avoid rake by playing aggressively preflop. Many microstakes beginners Don't 3B enough and call too much, so end up wasting money on the rake. Play like Snowie by using balanced ranges with pot size bets and you will see less flops and more money on your wallet. From time to time someone will insult you for playing this "awkward bet sizes for todays games" but at the end of the day you will see your bankroll growing. I still laugh about when I was on NL10 and one guy who wrote me "sick bet sizings, maybe you should consider go back to NL5 or NL2 fish". The funny thing is that was exactly that they when I reached my bankroll goal for NL25 and now I play at NL100 and he is still "grinding" at NL10. So, playing a preflop solution will give you a HUGE EDGE because of card advantage and skill at the same time.
(3) Avoid fast fold tables, they have proportionally less fish to reg ratio. And even fishes play a little better than normal fish at those games, because they don't have to wait for the hands they like, so they fold more preflop, therefore playing tighter and righter.
(4) Avoid playing more tables than you can REALLY handle. You should be able to take a few seconds on every hand if you need. Not just pressing buttons like a monkey without thinking.
(5) Forget about HUD, you don't need it at Micros. Even at NL100 I don't use any HUD, and I'm doing pretty well. There is a lot of fishes who deviates way too much from the equilibrium at my stake, so I don't give a shit about HUDs.
(6) Don't replicate the solution, understand the solution and see how you can use it on your advantage. For example, from a GTO perspective I should RFI from BU with 22 A4 K8 X9 K2S Q5S X7S 96S 64S 54S. BUT, once I've realicen that I was over realizing my equity from BU and villains were 3Betting less than Snowie I've started opening wider from BU and SB adding more EV. For now I open also A2 K5 X8 Q2s J5s X5s and depending on my results maybe the next week I will open a little bit wider.
(7) Want to be a pro? Then make it pro, study more and keep improving.
