Had long OMAHA day today, first it went like WOHOO and then, as you all Omaha players know, it went "Buhuu". So all-in-all, had some -2bin or so sessions, though I was up 4bin. No can do, when they ran well they ran well, but it's not my fault as we are almost always in a flip or so. Too bad that I had the 2-outers to hit today on all-in spots, which eats one's winrate a lot.

Starting tomorrow I'll take my first shots on stars at NL10. I also have some other goals for the next month:

Watch at least 1 video/week, attend in one live coaching this month on NLHE

Keep playing only when you feel like it - not tired or so.

Do more session alanyzes; what went well, what went horribly wrong and so on

Write one more "article" about something that isn't so well discussed in Pstrategy's articles.

Pick up good spots to bluff or so - this far I've been giving up quite easily against pressure vs unk, though it seems that we are doing quite well with 7bb/100 results. It could be bigger in zoom, too, if we had the right tools to answer these raises. I also have to try to take some 3-barrel-bluffs on my range again

There's most of my short and long term goals on poker. Hopefully I can end up saying "I did it" after this month or so. I was thinking about posting my positional stats, too, but not sure if I should as I would love to know having good and developing answers for them.

Had a super bad day on poker, so decided to study some theory. I think I learned something new, again!

Had to make some improvements to my game after that session yesterday. It drove me a bit crazy and bad decisions made my play bad. Now I tightened up my range and had clear plans on every street and every card so that I didn't make mistakes post-flop. Some spots I missed, though, which is bad. But I played more with initiative and was aggressive enough to win pots without sd, too. Too bad that villains ran like good, so no can do :/

Played some tournaments, too. Got 2/3 ITM, but only small cash. Unfortunately you can't beat a fish on Stars micro tournaments, they are just too strong. No can do ♦

I did that motivation training displayed in the bootcamp video that Schnitzelchfizscch had made here for basic members and above, and decided to translate my thoughts into English. Here's my notes:

1. Vision

Most of the time one must have motivation that is based on inner motives more than outer motives to become succesful player or to succeed in any thing one does. Money isn't that big of a motivator, after all.

Vision related goals:

1. Why do you play poker?

- First of all, it's been quite funny hobby for me, and I enjoy playing it. It also challenges me as I have to be better than the others to succeed, like I have to be in e.g Soccer. It also give me a chance to earn some money while I study.

2. What non monetary aspects do you enjoy in poker?

- As stated above, I enjoy challenging myself and being better than others. Earlier I had some tilts from people drawing by me with worse as I related it to them being better. Now I know that it's just luck and as long as we are not playing only with luck I have a chance! I also like striking to villains' weaknesses and exploiting them.

3. What do you want to achieve in poker? (Long-term)

- NL100 and regular side incomes. I want to stay there and be a nasty piece of villain for everyone that has to play with me. I also want to be a winning player!

4. What kind of a poker player you want to be?

- Winning player that villains' have hard time to play with. A little devil, actually ♦ But I also want to be respected!

Then I have to get a bit deeper, as it was stated in the video. These guestions were to think next:

How much money would ye need a month in total?

In a Month I'd need appr. 700-1000d, which makes at maximum 250d/week, which is "only" 2,5bin in NL100. Seems reasonable, too.

What will money bring you?

First of all, it would easen my life a lot. Now it's quite tough and I have to just manage here while studying. I could also buy something I really want, like tv, better phone, clothes and I could eat out at least once a month! It brings comfort.

What would your life look like when you have achieved everything you wanted in poker?

My ideal day is that I play poker for few hours and then I'd just take it easy, maybe study a little. I also go out to have a cup of coffee and read some daily newspaper. Sometimes I go out to eat with friends.

I would most likely still live in this same apartment, but I don't mind as this location is perfect, in the centrum of Tampere. Anyway, I might or might now have a women, doesn't matter. But I'd spend a lot of time with people that are close to me! I might even have a car someday and I could afford it with those monthly incomes already.

I think that's kind of counterintuitive. If he's 3betting wide then we should avoid calling with small pocket pairs because his wide range won't connect often, or well enough for us to get paid off when we do hit our set. (unless he's super spazzy postflop).

You're right here, but he was spazzy post-flop, which I forgot to mention ♦

Hand of the day. SHOULD have folded the flop as this guy seemed like fit-fold m8, but the sample was a bit too small. If we have had like 200 hands and this happened I'd give up.

Overall this second session was one of my best sessions on poker so far. Results were +4bin, but I made good decision all over the hands and played well against perceived ranges, cbetted when necessary and made some good 2-barrel bluffs in spots where villains' ranges seemed capped. Nice plaay!

No luck in Milestonge Campaing, though I think I ghot something as I played in NL5!

Had good poker, too. Too bad that 2 set-ups against same maniac in NL10 caused me big losses - 2x bin, QQ vs KK and KK vs AA ♦ Ofc it's always the maniacs who have monsters! Next time better luck.
