Well before I play the flop, I tank a bit, then raise to half-pot.
After the two folds, I swear, ask "why oh why didn't I just flat?"
After a minute I realize I played it fine, and that no-body will call any raise unless they have something worth continuing with.
After another minute I think, "Man I'm glad neither of the others had AK or A6

This flop gives me nightmares, but if V had a Q or descent draw I think V would put you in on the flop. With our stack size on that turn its a easy shove, I think. Even if turn isnt A and flush bricks I'm shoving. You ever watch Lex play boards like these so effortlessly.

When I am deep stacked its very tempting to call especially early on when you trying to build stack. But I'd fold this, if it was suited I'd see a flop.

Weekly update no. 8

Played from 21.11.2022 to 27.11.2022

Hi everyone, :welcome:

This last week I haven't played that much on Pokerstars, as I would want to. My focus was on GGPoker where my bankroll is growing rapidly, maybe because the games that I play at the micro stakes are softer do to the big number of players.
At the beginning of the week I played the regular Scholars tournaments but it seems that this month is not to be :f_frown: I can't hold any all in situations in that tournament this month. So with 3 tournaments that I have left for this month I am way behind the T$ positions. :sifflote:

This week on Pokerstars was slow in terms of results, basically I had some min cashes and pretty much that was it.

Also on Sunday I played another $22 Mini Sunday Million with my last ticket. It's fair to say that I played it " like an idiot"...:sorry: I was so mad at me after this hand, that I wanted to end the session. :censored::censored::censored: (I didn't because of the deep run I had on GG tournament that I played).

Here is the hand:

PokerStars - 40/80 Ante 8 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

MP+2: 10,800 (135 bb)
CO: 10,239 (128 bb)
BTN: 10,166 (127.1 bb)
SB: 10,146 (126.8 bb)
Hero (BB): 9,596 (120 bb)
UTG: 9,271 (115.9 bb)
UTG+1: 10,244 (128.1 bb)
MP: 10,926 (136.6 bb)
MP+1: 8,637 (108 bb)

9 players post ante of 8, SB posts 40, Hero posts BB 80

Pre Flop: (pot: 192) Hero has Q♦: A♠:
4 folds, MP+2 raises to 240, 3 folds, Hero raises to 720, MP+2 calls 480

Flop: (1,552, 2 players) J♠: 5♠: 4♣:
Hero bets 760, MP+2 calls 760

Turn: (3,072, 2 players) 4♠:
Hero bets 799, MP+2 raises to 2,240, Hero calls 1,441

River: (7,552, 2 players) 2♠:
Hero bets 5,868 and is all-in, MP+2 calls 5,868

Results: 19,288 pot (0 rake)
Final Board: J♠: 5♠: 4♣: 4♠: 2♠:

Spoiler

Hero shows Q♦: A♠:: (Flush, Ace High)
(Pre 43%, Flop 7%, Turn 0%)

MP+2 shows J♥: J♣:: (Full House, Jacks full of Fours)
(Pre 57%, Flop 93%, Turn 100%)

MP+2 wins 19,288

I played it poorly from pre-flop and all the way to finish. :f_mad::f_mad::f_mad:

So the Bankroll at the start of this week is:

Played from 21.11.2022 to 27.11.2022

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $720.36 + T$745.04 = $1465.40
Current Bankroll: $723.73 + T$735.88 = $1459.61

Profit from last week: - $5.79

Goal: $10 000

I hope this coming week I will play better....Also from Thursday until Sunday I will be away with family for some national holidays, so if I play poker I will play it from the phone. ( Probably won't be playing poker at the end of the week. )

Take care and good luck at the tables. :gl:

I think you don't need to raise the 1bb donk bet with 2 to follow. You are deep and might hit the magic Jh :)

Played from 28.11.2022 to 4.12.2022

Hi everyone, :welcome:

This past week I played only Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday before I left my home. I came back on Sunday and managed to play some freerolls only. ( Decided to play only freerolls because I was felling a bit tired after all the work I had to do when I was away ).

The week started ok, I finished 28th in the Monday Scholars event which gave me hope that I can do something in the last week of the tournament, but then Tuesday and Wednesday tournaments where awful for me. :sifflote:

In the end I finished the month in 240th place, a disappointing finish from me...Maybe I can do better this month ( make myself a nice Christmas present and finish first again ). :gl:

Also in this short week I cash into some of the CC Freerolls. On the Sunday one I tried to be clever and play passively but it was not a good play from me.

PokerStars - 600/1200 Ante 125 NL - Holdem - 7 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

MP: 31,301 (26.1 bb)
CO: 56,943 (47.5 bb)
BTN: 44,811 (37.3 bb)
Hero (SB): 10,236 (8.5 bb)
BB: 33,478 (27.9 bb)
UTG: 106,629 (88.9 bb)
UTG+1: 18,427 (15.4 bb)

7 players post ante of 125, Hero posts SB 600, BB posts 1,200

Pre Flop: (pot: 2,675) Hero has T♣: T♠:
UTG calls 1,200, 3 folds, BTN calls 1,200, Hero calls 600, BB checks

Flop: (5,675, 4 players) T♥: 3♠: K♠:
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG checks, BTN checks

Turn: (5,675, 4 players) 9♦:
Hero bets 8,911 and is all-in, BB calls 8,911, 2 folds

River: (23,497, 2 players) 6♠:

Results: 23,497 pot (0 rake)
Final Board: T♥: 3♠: K♠: 9♦: 6♠:

Spoiler

Hero shows T♣: T♠:: (Three of a Kind, Tens)
(Pre 56%, Flop 72%, Turn 23%)

BB shows Q♠: J♦:: (Straight, King High)
(Pre 44%, Flop 28%, Turn 77%)

BB wins 23,497

At least I finished after the money bubble burst. I really think that if I would played it aggressively like I play most of the time the result would be different...well you live and learn. :f_thumbsup:

So after all this the Bankroll for this week is:

Played from 28.11.2022 to 4.12.2022

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $723.73 + T$735.88 = $1459.61
Current Bankroll: $731.97 + T$731.48 = $1463.45

Profit from last week: + $3.84

Hi everyone, :welcome:

Now that 10 weeks of this challenge has passed I've been thinking about the time frame that I chose (2 years). In my case this is a realistic one since for me poker is not a regular job, and family and work comes first...and also I think that even though I get some feedback from the community ( not only this community ) and people are doubting that I will complete this challenge I want to show that with proper management and game selection, most of you guys that follow this journey of mine can reach a goal like this.
Yes I agree that if your only job is to play poker (day and night) you will complete this challenge in 2 months ( if you are a profitable poker player ), but I am willing to bet that most of you guys that follow this blog are exactly like me...( you play poker because you like the game and not because you want to become Pro in a year or so ).
That being said that is the reason that I do not put more volume into this challenge. In my case my time is the most valuable asset that I have, and poker gets some small portion of it. :f_grin:

Ok then, here are some of the results that I had this past week. On Monday I min cashed the daily CC freeroll finishing 25th, Tuesday I finished 35th on the Scholars Leader Board tournament (maybe this month will be better then the last one :gl: ), in the standing I'm on 104th after the first 3 games.

On the weekend I was so close to a final table on the CC $750 Holiday Special but I got impatient and that cost me...nevertheless I finished 11. :sifflote:

*I know that this is not relevant to this challenge but I want to let you guys know that the micro tournaments on GGPoker are treating me nice and the bankroll there is growing very fast :f_drink:

So at the start of this week the bankroll is:

Played from 5.12.2022 to 11.12.2022

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $731.97 + T$731.48 = $1463.45
Current Bankroll: $749.75 + T$727.62 = $1477.37

Profit from last week: + $13.92

Goal: $10 000

Take care and good luck at the tables. :gl:

Played from 12.12.2022 to 18.12.2022

Hi everyone, :welcome:

For the past week I played a lot of poker ( based on the available time I had :transpire: ). Started Monday with the Chest & Ladders promotion freeroll in which I managed to finish 804th, I played good poker hoping for one of those Platinum Pass :mdr:

After that I started playing the $1.10 mini EPT tournaments and also some of the $11 Sunday Millions PKO. I had some nice results but no top 16 for me...(top 16 got the $109 Sunday Millions tickets)

And on the weekend I played more on Saturday, some notable results came in the Silver Holiday CC Freeroll where I finished 3rd.

Also I played the Scholars events but no notable results there. On Sunday I played some poker at night after the WC Final, I wanted to play the Mini EPT main event but I did not get home in time to late reg... :sifflote:

This week I plan to play more, and I will try some tournaments in the New Year promotion that come starting this week on Pokerstars. Also there are still 6 games in the Scholars tournaments but I don't know the rakings yet since Stars have removed the Leaderboard from there website.

So the bankroll this week is:

Played from 12.12.2022 to 18.12.2022

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $749.75 + T$727.62 = $1477.37
Current Bankroll: $825.67 + $T715.27 = $1540.94

Profit from last week: + $63.57

Goal: $10 000

Have a good week guys, and happy holidays 🎄🎅

Bah! I didn't even notice that there was a Chests and Ladders Freeroll!
I did complete the promo though — about $10 in prizes overall

I always in this kind of promotions hit the "dice" and lands around the chests and not on them :mdr:. Luckily there was a freeroll so I can cash some :f_biggrin:

Weekly update no. 12

Played from 19.12.2022 to 25.12.2022

Hi all, :welcome:

Merry Christmas everyone,

For the past week I played some daily $1.10 bounty builders PKO tournaments, I played the Scholars tournaments and also I tried the New Year Series promo that is now live on Pokerstars.
At the beginning of the week I managed to get some small results in a PKO Bounty Builder

And also in the Scholars event on Tuesday I managed to finish 26th

With 3 more tournaments this month I need a deep run to get into top 50 this month and get that extra T$ 50.

As the end of the week came and Holidays approached I wasn't playing that much, but I managed to scrap some min cash in CC 300 weekly and $1.10 Bounty Builder on Friday

So for the last week of the year the bankroll is:

Played from 19.12.2022 to 25.12.2022

Starting Bankroll: T$1000.50
Last week Bankroll: $825.67 + $T715.27 = $1540.94
Current Bankroll: $842.23 +T$ 699.97 = $1542.20

Profit from last week: + $1.26

Goal: $10 000

Have a good week guys and Happy New Year 🥂🍾
