If he has just KK/JJ here then it's of course an easy fold. But even if he has just AA here as well, I think you have to get it in. That said I think most players would just cbet AA/AK here, but I'd expect most people to cbet KK/JJ on this board too when it's 4way.

I don't think I'd fold here, and would probably just get it in and hope he doesn't have KK/JJ. Also he might have some flush draws here or maybe even KJs? So he could still have some of those as well I guess.

I really like his line with something like KK... Its a wetish board that hits calling ranges v utg so once he checks someone will most likely bet. Plus with KK he blocks Kx hands that can call down.

It doesn't make as much sense for him to check AA/AK imo. I think these work much better as part of a cbet range.

And with a 9% open KJ is unlikely part of his range

It'd look him up with something like AQhh but 44 is a fold for me, nh.

The more I look at it the more I think my instinct for folding pre was better, I obviously had no idea what to do in this particular situation; most of my master-plan revolved around hitting a set, but that's not a great reason to call anyway if it's the only one I think.

Really learning a lot lately and it hurts my lonely likkle brain cell, but I'm actually (and surprisingly so) finding it fun.

Now if I can just start winning as well...

people that play so few hand want to play them. Off course he can have JJ or KK but I think his range his more like JJ, KK+ AK maybe even add 1 combo of A♥Q♥ for good measure IMO KK and JJ call your bet and dont raise that much.

you are only 100bb deep ffs, don't fold a set, even bottom set OTF on such a dry flop

SO I sat at 4 tables full of regs today because I need to get hands on them for analysis purposes. I had a nice sweat sess yesterday with AB and we looked at one reg in detail.

You don't get a positive redline by making people fold TP, you get it by being aggressive when their range is weak and TP is a small part of their range. As a result, they have to fold often.

My understanding is that it's the range not the hand I'm targeting and sometimes the player tendencies to wimp out. I think I played well for the most part - as far as 'played well' fits into my ability, it's just a new tactic to me - oh and I probably watch too much pleno1 without the skills to implement the knowledge!

TLDR;
A bit like one of my Aikido lessons from years ago, I learned enough to get myself into trouble but not enough to get back out.
On the positive side, I'm now experimenting a lot more and thinking more about the game.
