Well sometimes, just sometimes, I can still be a non-believer and it costs me loads every single poxy time I do it.
When the recreational players - like 60+/20+ agro guys are all hitting sets or shoving all in then showing the bluff, I keep paying them off when they have it and folding when they don't, so it feels good to say NO, not this time sucker, this time I know you're at it - I call!

Anyway, it's still going good so far apart from the odd brain fart, so no complaints here.

Electricity being somewhat of a nuisance since the storm at the weekend and things like my fence and gate seem to have moved house because they're no longer there that's for sure.

Now mrs gadget has fallen off her bike again so she is having a tough time lately, makes it hard to focus on poker so might give it a rest for a day or two, we'll see.

The problem of course, is that aggro donks can get hands too.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that they get paid off more often than better players do.

I like the raise on the flop, but do you have the odds to call the 3Bet?

Even if you like the implieds it is dodgy.

To keep myself from doing stuff like this too often, I now only do this with nut flushes in "red" suits ♦ and ♥ -- unless they give me pot odds to call (w/o implieds, since on iPoker they don't pay you off anyway)

I call because he'd do this with 7x and has done previously more than once. In a more agro frame of mind I would just get the money in right there on the flop v that guy. Different days spell different moods, that's how I roll.

I'll try that red suits game for a session or two, see how it goes. It may tame me a little.

I was much more agro today and it seemed to work ok, but I did notice something. If I get agro for a while it's good, then they start adjusting, that's a given. But if I stop being agro and miss a few cbets and stuff, they get more agro towards me, so I need to keep up the pressure. This isn't easy for me as it's not my natural soggy mind state, so when I lose that my plan is to sit out for a bit and recover with food and coffee etc.

I'll be trying both of those ideas I think.

Well I'm not doing so well last few days, down around 9/10BI or so; basically just getting outdrawn time after time. Meh, we've all been down that road.

Oh and when being more agro preflop, prepare to be down a BI before you hit a hand versus these guys. ♦

Finished reading through your blog now, well done on your bankroll building - I can only hope to achieve the same (I'm being polite I'll do much better... Just kidding! ♦) Looks like you are surviving the knocks at NL25 and battling well to be a regular... I noticed you were very up and down at NL10 - I have started skipping this limit and just jumping from NL5 to NL25 as I always find NL10 to be the tightest games at the micros (especially at zoom tables).

I know it can have an affect when you lose a few sessions back to back, but what you've got to focus on are the positives - Your reads were right and you were ahead at the time your chips went in the middle. On a different day you'll start winning all of these.

And as a long time member of this forum, you probably know as well as I, that I'm not the best at sticking with things in Poker. At least you're still going and not dropping off the radar for a few months and then coming back and starting fresh once or twice a year, so you're already doing much better than me. I'm just on a 10k hands heater, and it's easy to be positive when everything is going upwards.

Anyway, chin up and I'm sure you'll return to NL25 quick time and crush 'em.

Went from 582 on Friday to 716 last night, so that'll be nl10 owned for another week or two at least I hope. That does include the min cash 35 I got for the depositor's freeroll though, nice one PKR.

In other news that nobody cares about mrsgadget has been moved departments and is in panic mode, so no sleep last weekend for me.
I have to do the positive outcomes story telling stuff to make it appear to be a great opportunity for her - I seem to have conned her so far - which it is if you know the background to it. She still suffers from her bike crash to which sucks.
Having mrsgadget in panic mode is an experience to be avoided at all costs if possible.

Sticking to nl10 until the end of the month is doing me good mentally and it's easy as well so I can try a few things out cheaply. I never thought I'd say that about nl10!

I'll be comfortably rolled for nl25 by the end of this month I expect, being around 30 something BI.

That's about it really, 'cept mrsgadget is now (mostly) over her panic attack and is half cut on the sofa with Turkish Delights and a Girls Aloud dvd, which is why I'm hiding in here writing this drivel.

Ah yes, the good ol' 80s, some good stuff around back then. Excited isn't exactly the emotion springing foremost in mind though.

Been super busy lately, what with upgrading win8 to win8.1 after three downloads and much phaffing about to get it to work. In the end it all looks and feels the same as the old version to me anyway...crap.

Mrsgadget has lost her confidence after falling off the bike again, so we've stepped back about 10 years of work. Sigh...

Pokerwise, not much to say, still meh. What I find particularly galling is my inability to beat a table full of shorties who just will not fold. Multiway is the norm along with random chk downs with the nuts or bizzarre bet sizes/bluffs/donks and all in stuff. Just so frustrating and I generally go down about a BI or so over four to six tables. When you raise the whole world calls and when you cbet TPTK the whole world calls then the bb min raises and the whole world... fold...:facepalm:

I guess you could just say - He has JJ or KK (Lose) or AK or AA(Win) and pretty much no bluffs based on your read so get it in?

although - 9% is a pretty tight range :/

When he X/R's this indicates huge strength. Whats his Cbet % gadget? .. Would more than likely expect him to Cbet into 4 people with AK & AA but you never know
