Hello all, and happy Feburary!!!
So Janurary was a huge month for me!! overall I lost $10.:f_biggrin:
wasn't the greatest month, but I will say overall I am very happy with how I played. This will be the first time in my poker career I had to things happen.
First, I have a positive RED LINE!!.. Second I am about 2.5 K below EV. Now I know there are different opinions on ALL-in EV adj. But IMO I think it just shows if you are getting all in to hands with mostly good equity. So this month I did and was a little unlucky.
I also am putting up my bell curve from PT4.
so 2 days ago, I went to my local card room. I had decide to play 2/5$ max buy in 1000$. this was going to be my first shot jump at these stakes, over the passed year I have been playing 1/3$ so I would just get use to playing live poker.
The session was going pretty well, nothing crazy, I was actually a little card dead in about a 4:30hr time frame I had only won 6 hands and maybe played 15 hands total I felt really nitty, but the cards really weren't their.
So I made the decision to move my seat from the 4 seta to the 9 seat. second hand I pick up KhKc.
effective stack about 1400$
this hand I was LJ. Villian in HJ raised to 25$ I 3bet to 75$ everyone folds back to HJ 4bets to 180$ I flat call Btn folds.
flop comes 10-9-7 all CLUBS Villian checks to me. Pot is about 330$, my process here with holding the Kc mainly is that, I block him from having AKclubs and KQc which I didn't thing Villian would 4 bet KQ, I am pretty sure he wouldn't 4 bet 10's-9's and 7's or a 86. so at this point I pretty much put him on KK, AA QQ, of AK. I made my mind up that pretty much as long as the turn card wasn't an Ace I would be shipping it on the turn. I bet 180$. HJ calls.
Pot is now 690$. Turn card Kd. villain checks to me, I pause for about 30 secs and go all in for about 890$. villain tanks for a while, probably about 3-4 minutes. but ends up calling. I flip over my kings and he sighs as he flip[s over AhAc.

ouch, biggest pot I have ever played gets shipped in the other direction. :f_frown:.. The gentleman ended up telling he he thought I was bluffing.
I got more chips and stuck aroudfn for 3 more orbits which I got a few cards but won no hands, then left to take my round home.
over was -1400$. will drop back down and rebuild my BR a little and take another shot. 2/5 played very similar to 1/3, there was a lot more impinge then I thought there would be. a little crazy.

I've read this last post a few times now. And its clear to me you take beats a lot better than I do. I would never call "That gentleman" "The gentleman" after taking "That beat".

February has suck I am in about a 20-25BI down swing from my high, and my volume has dropped a bucket tonβ¦. Not feeling much like playing.. like so far February I have played like 6k hands where normally I be at like 17-20k hands.
My overall for 3 months since 12/1 is up 1k about, but playing bad.
But it will flip around at somepoint t

I've only played live twice, and both times where home game sng. I would love to know what my reaction would be to losing a pot like that. I know what it feels like to lose a hand like that. But at that stake and in that way and live, it would be surreal. I know it sounds stupid. But your blog has a very "Rounders" feeling to it.
I am not trying for that feel, but ty. I just write how I talk unfortunately, and try to stay as positive as possible.
As I said above I am getting butchered right now probably down about 3-4 k from my high in about 3 weeks and only 6k hands which sucks, I am -30/100 bb the past 6k hands, but over 3 month period I am up overall.
No one ever said this game was easy.. I just try to keep my head up and not break anything π.

Hey all!! been pretty busy of late haven't had all the much time to post.
Let me start off with February, what a disaster- !! was my worst losing month since I started playing. I didnt have all that much volume and ran into some mental game issue- which caused some pretty piss poor play. (will post this graph)
Onto March, not looking at my graphs currently as I am at work.. shhhhhh!!!!! But I believe overall I am about B/E. I had in the beginning of the month some metal game issues- I couldn't fold hands when I knew I was beat-mostly on draw outs. Which the effected how i was playing certain hands, very passively it was a little disappointing. (will post march results as well) But, I am looking forward to April to get back in the green, overall I am down about 2k at the moment from my high but was also down about 3.7k overall. which in the really is that terrible of a downswing. NL200 has been just disappointing as I have play 5k hands and am down 5BI..

Hello ALL!! LONG TIME NO SEE........
I hope everyone who reads this has had a winning Year.
What can I say about online poker in 2022 for myself. Well it sucked. This is the first year playing online I am having a losing year. I believe not all of it is run bad, I think a lot of it is c/d game playing. I tried a few new strategies that didn't seem to work out. I also haven't put in the effort, that I have in the pass few years. NO EXCUSES but, I put an addition on the house and also am preparing for a new member to the family in February.
I ran pretty good live and with rake back from PSNJ. I believe I am pretty close to breakeven, if not a small winner or loser for the year. So now the results.
First we will start with from January to October. MY PT4 Database had some issues when I couldn't get stats to pop-up in game, I believe the files was to much as I had over 500k hands. I am posting overall and by month.
Second posting is from October to TODAY..
so these are online- then as per live I am probably a small winner but I can't figure out on to get my poker income on here but I will share this. In May I had a 7.1k winning session and a few smaller losing ones and of course winning ones.
Final thoughts:
Even tho there where times this year when I hated myself, playing poker, family life, work, etc etc, I persevered til the end. I made a bunch of mistakes this year, but in the end we are all human and mistakes happen, this I needed to remind myself a bunch of times. I believe this year, I have become stronger mentally and my bond with my love ones has become stronger. ONWARD to 2023 and the combined player pool of NJ and MI pn POKERSTARS USA. I will try to post some more, but can't make promises. ITS A CHEF"S LIFE BABY!!!
