Hand 1)

I luuuurv to squeeze, and KTs isn't quite good enough to call, so it's an easy squeeze for me. I flop the nuts (kind of) so I bet the flop for value, and I think I should definitely ship the turn as chenny suggests, but I checked behind as I have showdown value. On the river, I think there are enough busted draws in his range for me to be good more than 40% of the time, so I called. He had 5 :diamond: 4 :diamond: . _biggrin:

Hand 2)

Yes, I should probably 3bet with QQ, but calling IP is OK I think. I don't find people 4 bet bluffing v often, so if I 3bet and he 4bets he probably has KK+. In other words, I'd rather play against his raising range, not his 4 betting range, since QQ has lots of value. The downside is the danger of playing a multiway pot. Anyway, the K on the flop is annoying against two opponents, but I think there are enough worse hands that will call a flop bet. On the turn, I'm probably only going to get called by a K, so I checked behind. Given his river bet size, I think I should probably fold. He had K :diamond: 4 :diamond: . :f_mad:

I used to think this way, but then I noticed that they call our 3bets so often, and not 3betting QQ loses soooo much value. If they 4bet, I really don't mind folding vs most guys. I know what you're going to say, OMG, you can't turn QQ into a bluff!!! But it's not really a bluff, since we get called by tons of worse hands. And people's 4 betting ranges on these limits are so tight in general, often KK+.

I disagree
@ NL50 people usually fold OOP vs 3bets and esp UTGvsMP
Only hands that can call u are JJ+ AK
And I assuem Rush is even tighter so yea, standard

Probably, barring any reads THESHade is generally right for NL50+ and goldchess is right for <NL25, and NL25 is a bit of a grey area. If someone is likely to call OOP, QQ is an obvious 3bet I think.

This month has been incredibly frustrating so far.

But........

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

jbpatzer (MP) ($25.93)
CO ($48.89)
Button ($69.74)
SB ($28.58)
BB ($36.76)
UTG ($15.13)

Preflop: jbpatzer is MP with 2♦, 2♣
1 fold, jbpatzer bets $0.90, 1 fold, Button raises to $2.25, SB calls $2.15, 1 fold, jbpatzer calls $1.35

Flop: ($7) 2♥, A♦, 3♠ (3 players)
SB checks, jbpatzer bets $4.10, Button calls $4.10, SB raises to $12, jbpatzer raises to $23.68 (All-In), Button raises to $35.36, SB calls $14.33 (All-In)

Turn: ($83.34) 9♣ (3 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($83.34) 9♦ (3 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: $83.34 | Rake: $3

Results:
Button had A♣, Q♣ (two pair, Aces and nines).
SB had K♠, A♠ (two pair, Aces and nines).
jbpatzer had 2♦, 2♣ (full house, twos over nines).

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :f_love: :f_love: :f_love: :f_love:

You see if you folded every hand and only squeezed with Axo (x<T), Kxo (x<J), Kxs (x<J) or (Qxs) (x<T), you'd be up $200 :f_biggrin:

Decided to keep my promise not to whinge here (dreadful session tonight), and held back on posting lots of awful set ups. But then whinged to nibbana on Skype instead, so I feel guilty and decided I had to confess to this here. I am trying to do the pro mindset thing, but it's so bloody hard when things aren't going well. In lieu of throwing things around the room, I'm going to watch Doctor Who, which I have to say from the adverts looks utterly shit tonight. However, I do have a glass of champagne in my hand as we're celebrating the tenants moving into the house that mrsjb just finished renovating, so I'm part of the way to a balla lifestyle. Mind you, the 'preflop action' consisted of me going to Tesco, so I have some way to go I fear.

next time whenu tell me in skype to look at some hands that got some comments in your blog pls wait with telling villains hand till i posted my opionion. ty.

anyway, some thoughts on the hands:

1) i dislike the 3b pre. very solid hand in position, i see no point in spewing in a squeeze with a hand with great playability and equity. take K5s, J7s (top of your folding range) but not KTs. button is powerrrr, especially playing oop ip with solid hands.

as played ip i would bet 4.1 and hope to induce a bluff raise since this board didnt hit your overcards and only QQ+ can rly continue. if he has JJ+ himself, we have great equity anyway and we dont mind getting it in.
turn check behind is good imo, i dont think u get better hands to fold. river his betsizing is good imo, tough spot for u. he can def have JJ, AT. but for the most part i would expect AcTc or any 89 as well as sets to c/r flop small. so i think u are up against JJ, 88, 99, TJ, T9. u only lose vs QQ that he didnt 3b pre and 87 or 6d5d. i think u have to call the river. u get 2.5:1, i think u are good here clearly often enough to make the call. nh

2) co/vs bu scenario i think 3b > all. especially with your overall gameplan and your stats (!! u will get paid enough. clear value 3b imo) if he was mp or utg i think calling is better.
when sb doesnt cbet KT9 rb, he either c/f undercards and thinks vs your range a cbet is not +ev, or he has AT, JJ, K8s. vs his potcontrol hands i dont mind a check on the flop. however, my standard line is to bet flop and turn and check behind river to get max value from JJ, QQ, AQ, AJ, TJ, QT. also u can bet turn small for free sd so u can decide how much money goes in. as played he can control the river betsize.
betting flop and checking turn is only good if u think AT is more likely to call a flop and a river bet but would be too scared by flop and turn bet.
i think checking back flop to get 2 streets on turn and river or betting flop and turn is best.
as played, i think river is a clear fold. cuz as said, non sd hands would cbet or c/f. since he c/c he has sd value. when he pots the river he obv has a K that pot controlled the flop and turn but now realizes he has the best hand.

Oh dear. I feel like a naughty schoolboy. Sorry boss. I haven't felt that way for ages so :f_thumbsup:

Woke up with a sore head after champagne last night. I recently discovered that you can be allergic to champagne, and I wonder whether I am. I can drink gallons of beer, but one or two glasses of champagne, and I'm anybody's. Such a cheap date, although you wouldn't want to see me the next morning.

As well as my sore head, I woke up pissed off about yesterday's poker, but I checked, and I was <2 BI down on the day, so that cheered me up. Also, now that mrsjb has finished with her house, I'm hoping to see more of her. She says she'll just have to spend more time at her allotment once she buys a shed. I suggested that she might like to start smoking a pipe as well, after making sure that I wasn't within punching range. She did say that she's growing lots of potatoes so we could make vodka. 'You can't make vodka out of potatoes.', 'Yes you can.', 'No you can't', 'You can', 'No', 'Yep'. She googled it to prove it ofc. How can I have got through 45 years without knowing this? And why didn't the Irish make vodka too? I don't really like the stuff anyway.
