As for NL10 rush, my HEM alw fucks up but if I shut it down and restart it whilst my rush table is open, then hit start auto import it usually pops up! If you 4 table you can get 1k hands/hr but im not sure what u get with less tables.

& massive +1 to your comment abt playing like TT is watching you, this is one of the things I also fail at, but also one massive +EV thing to do, like just betting or just check folding, just 3b'ing or whatever it is, without justification is just such a big leak, its like going into robot mode I guess.

I used to like it, but now it's all part of the job. I wrote my first program in BBC Basic in 1982! I've been programming pretty much exclusively in MATLAB for the last 10 years or so. If there's a problem that needs some real computing power, I get a student or a postdoc to do it. I currently have one PhD student writing parallel code to use on our HPC centre. ♠_cool:

One of my favourite sayings is 'Your conscience is just the little voice in your head that says "Someone might be watching!".' In rl, since I don't believe in god, this is usually my mother, so, for the purposes of poker, TT can replace my mother. She kicks my arse too.

SH. Seemed a bit easier to me. I seemed to be stealing from the button for 2.5BB with a very high success rate. We'll see how it goes long term.

I kind of like Dream Theater, but I don't rate anything much that they've done since Train of Thought, which is the musical equivalent of putting a bucket over your head and getting someone to kick it very hard and very often for 80 minutes, but in a good way.

Most call 3bets with their TT-QQ/AK, rather than folding or 4betting; at least, this is what I've observed from 19k hands at 2NL. I also flat with queens vs a tight UTG raise. There's definitely a lot of value in 3betting queens I find, but when they 4bet they usually have me beat. DT is great Train of thought is great, but they have so many good albums! Images and words, Scenes from a memory, Six degrees ... , Octavarium and I even like Systematic Chaos (took a while tho). But their newest albums is terrible... I recommend Pain of Salvation as well, they're a Swedish prog band, especially "Remedy Lane" and "The Perfect Element Part 1".

I recommend Visual Audio Sensory Theater with their self titulated album VAST from 1999 (or something). Unknown to most, probably because the rest of their productions aren't anything special

I don't usually link people doing a Masters in classical music and people who like prog metal, but I don't know why not as I like both.

Pain of Salvation: It's hard to pick a single song, because they're such an album-oriented band. You'd never believe how long I spent trying to decide on one song here ♦

Many classical musicians are fans of prog rock and prog metal. It's usually quite complex and interesting music with all the modulations, time shifts and elaborate solos. And most of my friends listens mostly to rock or pop in their free time. It's nice to be able to enjoy music that you don't have a working relationship with.

(And rock concerts are usually more entertaining than classical concerts, it's something about the alcohol and the crowded floor!) At classical concerts, the alcohol is usually in the pause or after the concert at the musicians local
