@zxc2323: hey I didn't ignore you, im just not at home/on my pc/on skype but dw I will be home in a week or 2 ♦.
That's the best Pain of Salvation track you posted there xc2323 ♠_cool: Gonna have to get their albums on this computer again after hearing that ♦ I will add you on Skype ♦
I'm also going to continue with this thread hijack and post a few more prog bands haha:
Evergrey are another band I love:
Kamelot:
Nevermore are slightly heavier:
Psychotic Waltz are a strange one, you'll either love them or hate them I think, i'm the former ♦
Anyway, sorry about that, I got a bit carried away haha. I promise the thread hijack will cease now.
You know, if you look back through this blog, there's soooo much music that people have posted for me to listen to, and I've not got round to listening to very much of it at all! Maybe I will sit down one evening and plough my way through it all. The rest of my family are not exactly great prog fans. Nibbana and Waiboy will be pleased though.

Sure will
The Evergrey one is a little too much for me, but I like the others esp the Psychotic Waltz. That pain of salvation song is epic too
Started a thread a while back for it as jb was getting peaved with the derail (or his inability to listen to everything!) so if anyone's interested Prog/Fusion Thread. Most of the stuff in there is old school Prog and Fusion but there've been some metal ones posted too, be good for more people to get posting as it's been quiet for a while and it's nice to wake up to new tracks !
Peace
Might give that thread a visit then ♦
Try out some other Evergrey tracks
They have some different material, I just posted the first song that came to mind haha.
Anywaaaay, what was it this thread was about? Poker or something?
Managed 2K hands tonight!
Sweated with Asmir instead of vonki (diary fail!). We are such a pair of fish, but we had fun!
Didn't really run very well to say the least. Here's this month's efforts. Still rakeback pro mode. Feel like I'm improving, but who knows!

Love your writing it is entertaining and easy to read.
What speaks volumes is the multiple threads and Reply Posts .

How does one deal with the barrage of Questions?

♦ Cool, I just wouldn't be surprised if people ignored a random request out of the blue like that.

Epic thread hijack. I think you would like Ayreon. Check out Isis and Osiris. I didn't like the Nevermore and Psychotic Waltz songs (which doesn't mean much, since I don't like that much music on first listen), while I think the other two deserve another listen.
@jb I suppose it's better to be running below EV than above, for the same winnings line. My graph for the past few days looks pretty similar, although on a smaller scale.

How does one deal with the barrage of Questions?
One answers them and hopes for the best. Nobody talks to me in rl. Not adult talk anyway. 'Will it be on the exam?', 'Can you get some milk on the way home?', 'Can I have a biscuit?', etc, etc
I've never answered a Question from GOD before. I hope I don't get sent to hell.
All the cool kids seem to have more hands and less random crap in their blogs. But I can't bring myself to post pictures of semi-naked women, just in case mrsjb spots them and gives me a clip round the ear. And remember, it's very poor style to start a sentence with 'but' or 'and'.

I'm a big fish when trying to analyse hands, but I guess I would play the first hand as you did. I've seen so many sick pushed in these situations when they push flush draws and top pairs that I think we are never -EV longterm.
I think hand 2 isn't bad either. I just think you had bad luck and reraised when he actually had something decent. He either had an overpair or top pair (A8s) imo. I don't think he would reraise you with just overcards.
Don't really know what to say on hand 3. I guess he should fold some better cards.
I tried my best, but it probably sucks anyway. So, are you still on the negative overall on NL10? and how many hands have u played in total now? I, on the other hand, upon moving up to NL10 a couple of days ago, have been running at 20bb/100 over 4800 hands. I love when you step up, and get blessed with heaters. Well, I hope my luck is contagious, really wanna see you progress with this book-project. Otherwise, it'll just be "the story of jb - how I stayed on NL10 for an entire year"
Cheers
About the last hand, dont try to bluff ppl of overpairs.. They just wont fold it no matter what the board is and no matter how high their overpair is.
I learned this the hard way too. ♦

Well, I'm playing rush now, and am BE after about 8K hands.
Otherwise, it'll just be "the story of jb - how I stayed on NL10 for an entire year"
Thanks for that. Never crossed my mind.

Not sure whether this makes me feel better or worse. Lesson learnt though. So we're fish to think about folding overpairs? Need to do some game theory here.

People don't really like folding overpairs there either

Didnt understand your question.
I wanted to say that like 95% of players you'll be facing at micro's are just not good enough to fold an overpair. I didnt mean to offend you or anything.
Please don't make him angry Alf, you never want to make a maths prof angry... he'll start posting fluid dynamic calculations and posting words that indicate he's laughing maniacally.

No, no, no, I meant that I think I'd fold an overpair there, at least against some player types. Hand 1 above, I called and he had a set. I'm hard to offend, unless you make disparaging comments about my family, my taste in music, my choice of job, Spurs, England, Monty Python... Oh. Well. Maybe I am easily offended. What I mean is, anything which has the subtext 'you're such a fish' is just not going to do the trick.
But there must be a GTO rate at which to bluff in this situation. Only problem is that you don't need to bluff at all against players who don't fold often enough. So easy in theory, but in practice......

HA! HAPPY NOW??!! ARE YOU???!!!!!
One thing I always try to remember is that setmining works against overpairs (preferably QQ+) because we get to win their whole stacks. Aka they won't be able to fold their overpairs. I think this is definitely something microstakesplayers should have in mind, as not even many regulars will be capable of folding overpairs that often.
