New computer won't be ready until Saturday, so can only post on breaks at work. Hopefully I'll finishing connecting all the wires when I get home today.

I've tried poker on a tablet. It didn't work. All I could see was the word "Aspirin" and the Bayer Cross. How does Gary do it ?!?

^ I remember 3-4 tabling 3.75's hyper satties on tablet, and yeah it's pretty intense for tablet play... Playing just one table is most often enough to me too.

On the bus home yesterday I tried to 3-table a RAZZ freeroll and two NLHE freerolls.

I kept reaching for the "Raise" button just as the screen would switch and I would end up raising or folding on the wrong table.

By the time I got to the Skytrain station, I had well above average stacks on both NLHE tables.

Maybe I should play the opposite of what I figure I ought to play. _confused:

And of course, as soon as I got the tables all co-ordinated, I bust out of both. _cry:

I've been playing the "Privilege" freerolls on the bus to work each morning.
Each time, there is me playing poker, and 8 others playing bingo.

Bingo usually carries the day.

Cheers,

You can change the settings so that the tables don't automatically change on you (you have to do it manually) but it's definitely better than raising/folding on the wrong table.

It's under settings somewhere, I'm sure you'll find it :)

Bingo is nice to play sometimes too. I was sat at a Bingo table in the Big $33 yesterday for about 20 minutes!

I can't deposit there, as there are no methods available to Canadians that P770 supports.

I started with $CAD 0.13 and hit $1.10 today.
I haven't decided if I'll put that all down on one Twister, or just play regular SnGs.

You can only play 100 of those "Free Festival" SnGs in any 30-day period.
For my 100, I was ITM 52 times, for a total of $1.66

The breakdown is:
     Pos    Won     Amt
       1     14    0.70
       2     20    0.60
       3     18    0.36
       4     18
       5     13
       6      7
       7      6
       8      3
       9      1
  Total:           1.66

I have no idea if this is good, bad or indifferent.
My ROI of course is infinite.
The prize pool is 10 cents. If this were "normal" then there would be 9 players putting up 1.2 cents each for a 10 cent prize pool, and 20% rake.

If that were the case, then I would have put up 1.12 to earn 1.66
So would this be my ROI? (1.66 - 1.12)/1.12 = 48%

I have no clue about SnGs

I decided not to risk it all in one go, rather I decided to play the 10cent 9-mans when I don't have the time to play "proper" poker.

So far, I've played 13 of those, ITM 6/13 and 1.60 total winnings.
No sample size of course. Lots of brutal bust-outs.

I still prefer cash games.

Peace,

I had a great morning pokerwise this morning.

Playing NL 5€ zoom I built up a 200 BB stack and had fun with it.

Oddly, I was playing rather tighter than usual (18/15) vs my avg of (22/17) but much more aggressively 4.6 vs the usual 2.2

As usual stealing was the meat-and-potatoes, the rest was gravy.
Stealing was average at 36%, but success was 78% whereas avg is 49%

I managed to fold post flop more than usual to account for the tight style on iPoker speed. My WTSD was only 28 vs the avg of 31, but my W$SD was way up at 64 vs the avg of 49.

The puzzle hand of the day is this one:

IPoker, $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

BB: $5.08 (101.6 bb)
UTG: $2.36 (47.2 bb)
MP: $5.07 (101.4 bb)
CO: $6.38 (127.6 bb)
Hero (BTN): $6.44 (128.8 bb)
SB: $6.60 (132 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q:c J:s
2 folds, CO raises to $0.15, Hero calls $0.15, 2 folds

Flop: ($0.37) 6:c J:h Q:h (2 players)
CO bets $0.25, Hero raises to $1, CO calls $0.75

Turn: ($2.37) 2:s (2 players)
CO bets $1.65, Hero ???

Board: 6♣J♥Q♥
       Equity     Win     Tie
CO     21.50%  19.70%   1.80% { 66+, ATs+, KQs, QTs+, JTs, ATo+, KQo, QTo+, JTo }
BU     78.50%  76.70%   1.80% { QcJs }

I have top two on a very wet board.

So:
  Fold?
  Raise to protect?
  Call?

Any arguments with the raise on the flop?

Happy Easter everyone!

Hey!

Not a big fan of call preflop.

I'm going with the hand on turn, if he has it, nothing you can do there. You cant ask for better flop pretty much.

Happy Easter to you my friend.
The 2 on the turn is a brick. If you thought you were ahead on the flop and you did by your raise then I would raise again as nothing has changed. My raise would be to around $5. This makes you pot committed as he doesn't have much left if he calls or raises so you have no fold equity.
Raise is my opinion.

IMHO:
>>Fold? - Not against unknown and such a strange line
>>Raise to protect? - what against? 6 or 2 on the river for his KK+? Not so frequently and he paid more than his odds for that, but with our second raise he should through away all his bluffs he could continue on the river.
>>Call? - I think so.

I disagree with gasheks and I do like the all pre.

Flop is good imo, turn I would just shove it. Sure he'll have some better hands but also worse.

Lets say all the TPTK hands, over pairs you get the money on turn or river, he's probably never folding. The hands that got you beat also get the money in. So are there hands that will put in more money on the turn but not on the river? Yes draws. If they brick he's probably not going with those hands. So I would shove the turn to get money from the draws as well.

Just my 2c.

Why you disagree? I understand that we are playing passive game and the possibility of squeeze is "reduced" + we have position which is always nice, but whats our plan with such "trash" hand?

Ofc when we hit top2 its easy game, but whats our plan if we miss?

If we assume that CO is going to be honest with us if he misses and gives up a lot then calling should be fine, but since i didnt saw any info on guys we cant be sure.

I don't agree because we are IP with 2 broadways and have 3 options.

Fold: folding doesn't seem like an option to me. The CO raised and his range is going to be wide enough unless he's a nit and then folding is good.

Raise: So we can 3b for value or to bluff. Don't have to discuss for value since this is never a value 3b. It's a great hand as a 3b bluff but I think it might be a little bit to strong to 3b bluff.

Call: Again his range is wide enough for us to make a profitable call (usually). Like you said it's not very likely we get squeezed and are IP. If we miss we can do a lot of stuff and have to look at the info we have and look at the board. A lot of times we can float the flop and take it down ott, sometimes we gain equity ott and call again and either bluff or value bet the river. Other times we get completely nothing and we just fold.

Maybe I'm to lose for nl5? But that's my opinion.

Pre-flop I will call this vs unknowns with full stacks.
Shorties have me dominated most of the time.

I'll fold to a squeeze.

OTF I have to raise vs all the straight draw and flush draws.
Overpairs, weaker two pair (unlikely as they are) and draws almost all call.

I expect sets to shove over the raise.

If I miss the flop a lot depends on how I miss -- I am capable of folding sometimes

OTT I can see nut flush draws leading out on the brick, overpairs and slow-played sets.
I have outs 4 outs to a full house unless he holds QQ, in which case I'm drawing dead, and vs JJ, I have 2 outs.

Not a lot of combos to worry about, imo

Thanks for the ideas...

5-Card Draw
The faithful readers of this blog will both attest to the whining that has gone on here previously.

I will now subject them to a new kind of torture:
Gloating

Spoiler

Feral Cow Poker
PokerStars Limit 5 Card Draw $0.10/$0.20 - 6 players

CO: $0.82
Button: $3.95
SB: $3.69
BB: $4.47 (Hero)
UTG: $4.93
UTG+1: $4.24

Dealing Hands: ($0.15) 9♦ A♠ Q♣ Q♦ 3♥ (6 players)
3 folds, Button calls $0.10, SB folds, Hero checks

First Draw: ($0.25) (2 players)
Hero discards 3, Button discards 3,
Q♣ Q♦ || Q♠ Q♥ 9♥
Hero bets $0.20, Button raises to $0.40, Hero raises to $0.60, Button raises to $0.80, Hero calls $0.20

Button showed 6♥ 6♠ K♠ 6♦ K♦, a full house, Sixes full of Kings
Hero showed Q♠ Q♥ Q♣ Q♦ 9♥, four of a kind, Queens
Hero won $1.77
(Rake: $0.08)

I would feel sorry for the poor blighter, but I had just busted out of a $1.10 NL 5-Card Draw tournament in similar fashion.
This one hand made back almost my buy -in.

So it goes...

Only and I repeat only in the on-line word can both opponents draw 3 and magically will one make a full-house and the other make quads.
No wonder the average person thinks on-line is rigged.

Oh, nice hand and a very nice win.

Oh, nice hand and a very nice win.

I have only ever entered two live tournaments.

In the first one, at the table behind me a player holding four Aces lost to a Royal Flush. I no longer remember the exact details of who flopped what, however everyone in the place sacrificed almost an entire blind level getting up to go have a look, then talking about it.

And after seeing this guy I'll take my chances on line...

Peace,

Nice hand VS, easy game this draw, you just need to discard as many as you can and get quads, is that the main strategy? :)

What do you do if you get quads immediately? Maybe stand pat is the best; they could put you on straight/flush hands, so you can rub your titties with their money when they get their FH's. :)

Cheers!
Fran

Spoiler

is it called stand pat when you not discarding, or I mixed something?

If you get quads straight off, you discard one.
Your hand could then be anything from a weak straight draw to trip Aces -- or quads of course. D1 is most commonly two pair.

Yes, "stand pat" == "discards none"

It was indeed a fun hand.

I remember a lot of cooler hands live.
At the WSOP in 2008 there was a hand that was 4-Aces vers a Royal.
Again at the WSOP on day 1 Sammy Farah had A-10 vrs 10-10 of an amateur.
Flop was A-A-10 so all the money went in and the amateur was out on the very first hand.
Things like that happen.
