I've been playing a *lot* of this lately.

I play in two different rooms.
In one, multi-way raised pots are the norm, and the only way to play there is to join the throng, and bet heavily with the nuts.

The second is way tighter.

This came at the tight table...
When I saw the hand, I figured it is a low-only hand, but a solid one...

Let's try to bluff that we have a full house, and perhaps take the pot here -- I have no expectation really of anything better than the Lo half of the pot.

Hi, thanks for new post, it's always nice to read you. Do you plan to play MicroMillions?
I do and even one of 5CD. Let's meet at the final table

I can only enter the $3.30 NL 5-Card Draw on the 26th, and the $3.30 NL 2-7 Single Draw on the 28th.
I'm travelling for the first week.
I might be able to play the $5.50 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw on July 21, but only if it can be played on a tablet.

My laptop runs Linux, and I don't think that PokerStars is available on Linux.
On July 28 there is a $5.50 PLO8 that looks tempting. I'm not too confident -- I'm running behind in PLO8 cash games.

I was hoping that there would be some 5-Card Draw or 2-7 satellites that I could warm up with, but there aren't any.
I asked support, and they could not say for sure if there would be.

There are about 10 5CD tourney everyday in $1.1-2.2 range. Can't you use them instead of sats to warm up ? And I am rather sure sats will be available but only like 24 hours before tourney.

I've been playing a *lot* of these, and have acquired two $3.30 tickets, and won a host of $1.30 payouts.

My ITM is 75%, so I'll keep playing until I get a %5.50 ticket, or my Net is enough to buy one.

Great news, see you and let's meet on FT.

My problem is that now, when my favorite song is "When I'm sixty-four", 4 AM is too early for me, espesially as at 9 I suppose to be in the office, and 10 PM is too late as at 4 AM I fall asleep no metter what. That exactly happened at last SCOOP 5CD Low, when at 4 AM I went to bed being 20th, despite a lot of holdem (so weak at 5CD) players around. As you remember my seatout finished like 50-60th

Well, I never did get my $5.50 ticket, but when I got back from church today, MM-03 was already running, so I entered a 90 stars coin SNG satellite.
It took me too more tries to get the seat (only 1 seat awarded in the 6-max NLO8).

A few hands in I tripled up, and picked up a few more hands along the way.

NL Omaha is not my favourite game -- you have to be bold and aggressive, and I tend to let others do the aggro part and grab their cash by having better hands.
However, if you play uber tight for a while, you gain fold equity.

The problem with having a lot of fold equity, though, is that it is harder to get paid off when you do have the nutz.

Oh yeah -- the result: 1010/10536 runners for $6.01 (no bounties)

No more poker now for a week.

The image is from a poker site run by the government lottery commissions of British Columbia, Manitoba and Quebec.
Only if you are a resident of one of those provinces of Canada, can you play there.

The software shows itself as "Boss Media" judging by the folder created to hold the data.

I've never heard of PokerHeaven, so I couldn't say.

These always make me laugh
17th of 28 with about 2/3 average stack here.
Both of these cards are obvious folds, since in Hand A you can draw to a straight, and Hand B draws to a flush. Hand B is worse, because only an 8 or a 2 yields a decent hand gives a playable low at all.

I missed that this was 2-7 SD instead of 5CD at first, so I was utterly confused by these hands for a moment.

I've been trying some 2-7 TD games for a while now, both cash and MTTs. It may be the most variance-heavy format of poker I've played yet. So far, I've shipped two tourneys and bricked six, so I'll stick around for at least a little while, even though it's hard to tell how these games are going at the moment.

I assume that 2-7 SD requires some really tight hand selection, and that any hand that is more than one card away from an 8-high or lower is not worth playing, except for a steal?

Surprisingly, a J-lo is even vs a player drawing 1.
A Q-lo is even against 2 players drawing 2.

NL 2-7 SD has a huge bluff component too, but in general, tight is a good way to play.

I'll draw 1 to a 97 or better in most any position.
Unless the draw could make a straight or a flush. The above two hands were just me goofing around -- I don't normally do that ♠_cool:

What I love doing is 3-bet shoving or shoving over limpers when I'm in the blinds.

2-7 TD is tough, since a really good hand can go sour once you've got a bunch of money in the pot.

It's uncanny how easy it is to hit straights/flushes. Once playing TD, I drew to a 5432, drew a 6, drew again, drew another 6, threw hand into the muck in disgust. Then punched myself in the face so that I wouldn't do it again. I haven't.

Yeah, that's a common piece of strategy advice I have heard in 2-7 TD. When your opponent draws one card before you on the last draw, you're actually a slight favorite with J-low, so you're better off standing pat and checking behind, if possible. This demonstrates yet again how important position is in this game.

This is one of the main differences I've noticed between drawing in 2-7 and drawing in Badugi - your hand can actually get worse in 2-7 if you hit the wrong cards, which can make the decision whether or not to try improving your hand really tough at times. I can't think of any other poker game that gives you this kind of dilemma, except for some cases in 5CD where you need to decide whether to keep a high kicker or not.

You're definitely right about that!

People who are frustrated with the variance in games like Hold'em might be wise to stay away from 2-7 TD.

5-Card Draw
MM-93

I came 81 out of 1657 so top 5% finish.
($3.30 NL 5-Card Draw)
It took two tickets though, but still profitable.
I won the tickets in the $0.65 Spingos, so even more so.

Earlier today I finished 1426 of 12208 in MM-90 ($0.55+R NLHE 6-max Hyper-Active)
I went the whole way with 1 rebuy and 1 add-on. This one was a lot of fun.

I also cashed in a $2.20 NL 2-7 Single Draw PKO.
I really like these. If you have the stack, you can win enough in knockouts to freeroll the rest of the tournament.
To do that you have to get your stack early.
