According to the Wikipedia article, players have to discard their third hole card preflop in regular Pineapple poker, while in Crazy Pineapple, you discard it after the flop betting round. This is consistent with what I managed to find on other sources as well.

Therefore, the version of Pineapple poker which we both played the other day actually seems to be Crazy Pineapple, even though it is simply called "Pineapple Hold'em" there. But clearly, players were required to discard their third hole card after the flop. Which can leave them with the dilemma of either keeping a flush draw or a pair on the flop, just like we know it from Five Card Draw.

I shipped last night's (Crazy?) Pineapple freeroll, btw.

Interesting, because they also have a "Crazy Pineapple" in the list, but I don't have the chips to play it.

I installed a major Windows 10 update today, and once again, it took a fair bit of effort to get my audio all working again.

All the individual components tested successfully -- except that I heard no sound.

Finally unplugged my speakers, plugged them back in, and it all worked -- sort of.
My streaming software (OBS) couldn't output my 2nd audio channel.

In all honesty, I don't really know how I fixed that, because it started working without me actually doing anything.

Problems that go away by themselves tend to come back by themselves, so I'll be sure to test it before the stream happens tomorrow...

I've once had a shot at Badugi Math
But I never got as far as attempting to calculate the chances of hitting a particular hand.

But let's simplify things and ignore all the messing drawing and discarding stuff
In 52 cards there are 270,725 combinations of 4 cards.
Only 24 of those are 4,3,2,A rainbow
For one person to have a 4-Badugi the odds are 270,701:24 or 11,279:1
Stated as a percentage, there is a 0.0089% chance that a player does have a 4-Badugi
For the second player, 1 4-Badugi is gone, so his percentage is 23 left out of 270,724 or 0.0085% chance of having one.
Two players having a 4-Badugi in the same hand would occur in the order of once in 132 billion hands.

Don't forget that we grossly simplified the math by ignoring the drawing.

Still remarkable though.

In truth, I luckboxed my way to a decent stack -- and this was the key hand:

I added a $2.20 NLHE "normal" tournament to my regular stream. Normal = no rebuy, no hyper, no turbo, no PKO
I managed to hold on to average stack through the first two hours, then hit this...

One of the viewers on my stream thought I should have been wary since a short stack made such a small open raise.
I'll file that thought away to watch for such action next time...

This COVID-I9 pandemic is beginning to hit closer to home.

My daughter got laid off from her job at a tool manufacturer's plant -- nobody was ordering anything, and the type of work she did can't be done from home.

Mrs Vorpal is still working, but she works at an art school, and a lot of students are staying away.
Local health authority is recommending keeping a "social distance" of 1m -- that's difficult in a classroom.

My Mum is in a nursing home, and has a fever and is being kept in isolation. She has been tested for COVID-19 but I haven't got the results back yet.
If she tests positive, I'll need to self-isolate since I've visited her in the last two weeks.

and worst of all, my phone died!

my trusty Blackberry Priv which I've had for 4 years suddenly would not boot. It powers up, and enters the boot sequence, but never finishes.
It is in the hands of a local highly-recommended repair guy.

If he can fix it, great -- if not I have no clue what to get to replace it.

I dropped it off yesterday. When it's ready, he'll phone me. Oh, wait...

He has Mrs Vorpal's number, so he can call her -- but we cancelled our land line months ago.

1st world problem

The Blackberry Priv I had been using for the past 4 years would not boot, as mentioned, and after having it overnight, the repair guy gave up.

I have now acquired a Samsung S10.
It works, it does what it needs to do, but it is full of intrusive Samsung "helpful apps" that can't be fully disabled.

They can be avoided though.

So far the toughest difference is that on the BB Priv, the power button was on the left, and the volume buttons on the right.
It is the opposite with the S10. Have I ever mentioned I'm left-handed? The previous arrangement suited me fine.

I'll get used to this eventually I'm sure.

I had been playing the daily Big $2.20 to help prepare for Sunday's 14th anniversary Sunday Million, and on my 3rd try I cashed in the 4th tier up so in profit for the day, and in profit for the 3 attempts.

Over the past few days, I've seen some heart-warming kindness stranger-to-stranger.
In one case, a restaurant was not accepting cash, so a customer was about to abandon his order.
Another customer pulled out his card and paid for the order -- and didn't accept the cash.

In another, one of our neighbours that we don't know left a note on our door that the next day they would be making a grocery run, and if we needed anything, they would get it for us. I presume that they left similar notes for all the neighbours, but still...

And some appalling examples of exploitation and greed
Things like:
 Setting up a table in a park and selling masks and hand-sanitizer at high prices
 Advertising fake rememdies
 Posing as the Red Cross and entering people's homes to give them a "free test"
 Selling or promoting fake rememdies
 Phishing scams using fear and anxiety as bait

Times like these bring out the best in some people, and the worst in others...

Some dashcam video of the worst traffic bottleneck in the Vancouver Area taken yesterday.

Wow! I can't remember the last time I did this.
I didn't even save the hand.

Over and over since last Friday I have lost to a ridiculous hand that got there on the river.
Sometimes runner runner, but most of the time just a 2- or 3-outer that got there.

It's good to get that crap out of the way though -- clear the way for my stream tomorrow.
