Thanks all for the thoughts. Really nice to see that this project is starting to take shape. :f_biggrin:

So i will get going with volume and deffo post hands:

1. Villain 24/22/ with a 3 bet from BB at 40% :f_eek: / 100 hands (small though)

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)

Known players:
[tg]MP3$10.82:///////;CO (Hero)$10.98:///////;BU$11.15:///////;SB$10.05:///////;BB$12.44:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is CO with A:s, K:c.
MP3 folds, Hero raises to $0.40, 2 folds, BB raises to $1.40, Hero calls $1.00.

Flop: ($2.85) J:h, Q:c, 6:c (2 players)
BB bets $1.80, Hero calls $1.80.

Turn: ($6.45) 5:c (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($6.45) Q:d (2 players)
BB bets $4.08, Hero folds, BB gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: $6.45.

So preflop i think it's ok.
Flop: I had the gutshot + back door 2nd nut flush draw so i guess it's a correct call
Turn, river: standard?

Any thoughts on this one please :)

2. Villain 18/14/2.3 over 224 hands (regular). He was 3 betting (8.2) me A LOT until i adapted ofc.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)

Known players:
[tg]SB$7.03:///////;BB$11.88:///////;MP3 (Hero)$10.30:///////;CO$11.86:///////;BU$10.00:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Q:d, T:d.
Hero raises to $0.40, CO calls $0.40, 3 folds.

Flop: ($0.95) 2:c, 3:c, Q:s (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.60, Hero raises to $1.80, CO raises to $11.46, Hero folds, CO gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: $2.75.

Preflop: i know it's kinda loose UTG, but the table was 21/18 so pretty tight so i tried to approach a looser style, but that guy was really after me.
Flop: donk out? i mean he was cbetting 70% and i was kinda sure he will cbet a lot on flops like this so i just wanted to let him bluff.
So c/r it's good here or should i have c/c and donk turn or dunno..you say please

3. So this guy was a total donk. He posted UTG and he was playing 54/24.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)

Known players:
[tg]CO$4.39:///////;BU (Hero)$10.00:///////;SB$6.12:///////;BB$10.15:///////;MP3$12.67:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is BU with T:c, 5:c.
MP3 posts deadblind, MP3 checks, CO folds, Hero raises to $0.40, 2 folds, MP3 calls $0.30.

Flop: ($1) 5:d, 3:d, T:h (2 players)
MP3 checks, Hero bets $0.80, MP3 calls $0.80.

Turn: ($2.6) 8:d (2 players)
MP3 checks, Hero bets $2.10, MP3 raises to $4.20, Hero calls $2.10.

River: ($11) J:s (2 players)
MP3 bets $3.70, Hero calls $3.70.

Final Pot: $18.4.

Preflop: standard isolation
Flop: Just bet for value
Turn: ok / check back / fold to his min raise ?
River: I know that min-raise on this limit it's pretty much nuts for the fish, but i was commited.

So how can i avoid spots like this?

4. Almost no history for villain.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (4 handed)

Known players:
[tg]SB$9.62:///////;BB (Hero)$10.00:///////;CO$10.55:///////;BU$4.88:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q:s, Q:d.
CO folds, BU raises to $0.30, SB folds, Hero raises to $1.00, BU calls $0.70.

Flop: ($2.05) J:h, J:c, 4:d (2 players)
Hero checks, BU bets $1.95, Hero raises to $3.90, BU calls $1.93(All-In).

Turn: ($9.83) 4:s (2 players)

River: ($9.83) 9:c (2 players)

Final Pot: $9.83.
Results follow:

Hero shows two pairs, queens and jacks(Q:s Q:d).
BU shows a full-house, jacks full of fours(K:d J:d).

BU wins with a full-house, jacks full of fours(K:d J:d).

I was sure we will commit 10's, 9's and stuff like this in this situation. I was aware that he might have a J in his range, but can i really fold there? I mean i can deff fold, but calling is worst then folding?

4. I mean this is bad, really bad :(

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (4 handed)

Known players:
[tg]BB (Hero)$10.00:///////;CO$18.14:///////;BU$13.47:///////;SB$9.69:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q:d, Q:c.
CO calls $0.10, BU raises to $0.30, SB folds, Hero raises to $1.00, CO calls $0.90, BU raises to $3.00, Hero calls $2.00, CO calls $2.00.

Flop: ($9.05) J:s, 6:s, 7:h (3 players)
Hero bets $7.00, CO folds, BU calls $7.00.

Turn: ($23.05) 6:c (2 players)

River: ($23.05) 3:h (2 players)

Final Pot: $23.05.
Results follow:

Hero shows two pairs, queens and sixs(Q:d Q:c).
BU shows two pairs, kings and sixs(K:d K:h).

BU wins with two pairs, kings and sixs(K:d K:h).

How can i avoid going broke on this situations?

5. The all-in player was just normal fish (64/64) and the other guy was 44/0.
So i thought the implied odds are huge because that guy will call me more often then not.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Known players:
[tg]CO (Hero)$11.31:///////;BU$9.60:///////;SB$1.91:///////;BB$30.18:///////;MP2$11.83:///////;MP3$11.68:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is CO with 7:d, 7:h.
MP2 folds, MP3 calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.40, BU folds, SB raises to $1.91, BB folds, MP3 calls $1.81, Hero calls $1.51.

Flop: ($5.83) 9:c, 3:d, 5:d (2 players)
MP3 checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($5.83) 6:h (2 players)
MP3 bets $4.15, Hero calls $4.15.

River: ($14.13) Q:s (2 players)
MP3 checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: $14.13.
Results follow:

MP3 shows a pair of tens(T:s T:h).
Hero shows a pair of sevens(7:d 7:h).
SB shows a pair of queens(K:h Q:d).

SB wins with a pair of queens(K:h Q:d).

So on the turn i had a double gutshut. Was the call alright? The bet was pretty big so if i hit he would've been commited i guess. Thoughts pls

That's all for now. I'll be grinding now, so more hands later. :) TY

and some other setups. It doesn't matter, i don't have brm problems or so + i think my overall game is way better. I just concentrated. I would deffo beat the shit out of nl10 by the end of april. Good night :f_grin:

Oh oh... I dont know where to start.

In the Q :diamond: T :diamond: hand, you mention "donking out" as an option, but you actually don't donk the flop if you bet, because you my friend have the initiative preflop.

I see you doing this in several pots, giving away the initiative on the flop which is really not something I would recommend.

Back on the topic, his "cbet" does not consist of the donkbets, as he didnt have initiative but anyway. I think he will bet alot of flops when you check to him but unless he has something you wont get much from him anyway. You need to keep later streets in mind, and even if he likes to donk, I'ts not sure that he likes calling flops when he gets check/raised now is it? As played c/c and bet turn but I very much prefer a bet on the flop.

The first QQ hand, again you give up initiative and risc giving away free cards and losing value against worse hands. If you have almost no history on him its a standard bet/call situation for a half stack with QQ, no discussion there. You always play against a range of hands and the fact that he raise/calls pre with that stack indicates a weaker hand and he won't have a J all that often tbh.

The second QQ hand, I think you need to just ship it in preflop or fold tbh. I dont see how one can invest 30bb preflop without shoving it :f_confused: as played I dont know... I mean if you put your moniez in on the flop you're only gonna be called by: JJ that made a set now, KK and AA who have you beat... AKs will only call with a fd whilst AK that didnt hit shit will fold. =) See the problem here?

The 77 hand I just let go of preflop. The shortstack goes all in and the other guy calls the all in so basically you need to beat 2 players and still play for a sidepot... 77 aint good enough for me to enter that pot with. As played i... dont know, dont like the situation at all and I think you shouldnt even find yourself in this situation. I would probably just fold turn and curse myself for calling preflop to start with :f_confused:

The pocket 99 setup is just nasty and nothing you can do but accept it, suck it up and move on.

The last setup is also nasty, however i'm not so sure I like the call with ATs unless you have reads on the opp or if you're sure that BB will call too =) Depends on his stats ofc but generally not superthrilled about it. On the flop there isnt much you can do, I would personally have tried to get it in right there as you have a decent equity against his overall range there. Again not much to do. =)

That's my 2 cents for this time.

ATs: my standard would be to call in order not to isolate vs AQ+. if u hit your flush u get paid anyway + u let his bluff range in

99: not worth mentioning. that brings me to rule 3 (u remember still 1 and 2? :f_p: ): dont post such setups/coolers. its just wasted time to post such hands. nobody will ever win or lose money. in nlhe (not like in plo!) we always stack sets here. if u lose quads, u are allowed to post. but thats the only exception.

AK, QQ: do not put in so much money pre and then call 4bets. decide to either 3bet/5bet/broke or just play with deception and call vs their open raises.
some nl10-25 players might give us insights in their broke range from co/bu vs blinds resp. vs mp/utg. but i guess they play QQ/AK very safe, which i would also do. [in my vid u will see AK preflop broke action, but that was due to some nice image and history]

QTs: u are pfa. just cbet and go from there. i dont like that line c/r/f. c/c is an option tho.

T5: b/f turn 90%, check back turn + call river 10%. do not bet/call turn and call river! u are behind 97,5% here ... at least.

this

what did we learn so far:
- realise, although i told u, u play pretty well for nl10, u still have a lot to learn.
- dont post coolers. waste of time + this negative energy doesnt help us in our progress.
- avoid super tough and marginal spots. its not necessary for u atm to get into them. also u dont have the experience.

what i think is very good tho, that u post your misplayed hands. learn from them and dont make the same mistakes again.

+ write a wordpad of our rules sir. i idont want u to forget one of them. otherwise i come to romania and kick your ass :f_biggrin:

thnx @ vonki for sharing your thoughts.

@ all others: any input always welcome ;)

Very nice, thanks!

No coolers + wordpad w/ rules, got it

In the last session i avoided i think about 90% of the situations like the ones before and it was really easy to play when i wasn't put to tough decisions.
In the hands i posted i had the feeling i think @ all almost they i was beat, but still continued. This is bad and i won't do it in the future, because i've found out that my feelings w/ nl10 playersa are 90/10 correct. So if i follow my instint in difficult spots, and that instint tells me i'm toasted, i will make a correct decision 9 out of 10 times, and that cannot be bad.

Off to uni now

1- OK (if no notes about him)

2- easy call.
SS-player push here JJ+, AKo/s. with dead money call is +EV.
also SS on SH-table can push TT+, AJs+, AQo+.

3- I think... turn: 3bet/push will be beter than call.

4- Hero: bet 1/2pot

hand 4: 3bet pre/contibet flop :f_biggrin: AK is not going to be good in multiway pot even if you hit A or K.

Hand 2 i shoved for the reasons that they were ~fish + SS and i made a split pot w/ one of them.

Hand 3 i just called behind on turn because i didn't wanted to see a b/r by him, or a shove, being forced to throw rockets there + river i raised ~2$ and got called by A5. It is ok?

Hand 4 there was a 4 way pot atm and i figured that if i raised i might get 2 callers and i would've been OOP against 2 opponents w/ A high..that was what i thought at that moment + bet 1$ on the flop.

It is correct?

Hi I am not really a great cash player but I love this blog and would like to put my opinion in if thats ok?

1. Logic says that villain thinks that you are putting him on a blind steal so is reraising you quite wide as a re-resteal, so I would snap call. However, and it is a big however, if your instincts tell you that he actually has AA or KK, then a fold is not the worse thing in the world is it?

2. SB has plenty of value to call initial raise after you call so after OR folds BB shove I discount SB somewhat and shove over to take on the BB.

3. I prob raise flop here but think calling down is ok, given that villain range is so wide.

4. Think I 3bet preflop to isolate here as I dont want the other 2 with high VPIP to see flop. As played I would probably bet this flop and re-evaluate depending on how many callers / raisers but not going broke here.

Hey @ rhinoneil. I'm glad you like this blog, but i think this is just the beginning. . Hand 4 i forgot to mention that i took down the pot.

Anyways just a hand now + i started 6 tabling since i find it helpfull for increasing hourly rate + helps me stay focused for the reason that is more action involved. It worked pretty well till now (~750 hands).

Villain: 18/4/2.2 over 379 hands

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Known players:
[tg]MP3$10.72:///////;CO$1.70:///////;BU$15.92:///////;SB$10.05:///////;BB$10.51:///////;MP2 (Hero)$17.38:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K:d, A:s.
Hero raises to $0.40, 4 folds, BB raises to $0.70, Hero calls $0.30.

Flop: ($1.45) J:s, A:c, 2:h (2 players)
BB bets $1.38, Hero calls $1.38.

Turn: ($4.21) J:h (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2.00, BB calls $2.00.

River: ($8.21) 4:c (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $3.00, BB calls $3.00.

Final Pot: $14.21.
Results follow:

BB shows two pairs, aces and jacks(K:h A:d).
Hero shows two pairs, aces and jacks(K:d A:s).

BB wins with two pairs, aces and jacks(K:h A:d).
Hero wins with two pairs, aces and jacks(K:d A:s).

preflop + flop standard
turn: raise bigger?
river: it was starting to get scarry tbh, but then i thought that i would get called very often by AQ, maybe even AT dunno. So yet again: bet bigger or my thought process was wrong and i should've just check behind?

It is OK?

Will be following another session later today + more hands. :diamond:

_cool: !!!! we are silver !!!! :f_cool:

hand 1: 3bet/fold QQ in bb vs bu seems to be a bad idea in general. vs a nit, i would flat call to keep a wide button range in and play it post. however, once i decide to 3bet in a blind battle, i think shoving AI is mandatory.

hand 2: imo backraise AI. so much dead money, it's +ev vs TT+ AQ+ & occasional bluff squeezes. if he is a nit, fold is in order.

hand 3: i think i would raise turn ~2.25. as played, raise river 2.75

hand 4: i would squeeze pre cuz i have a sick aggro image on nl10, so i expect ppl to play back at me light sometimes + if not, so much dead money here we can pick up. however, i dont mind a flat here sometimes. if u flat, i like donk/fold 3 streets.

Hey there Eminescu500 & Twice, really liking the whole blog and project thing you got going on. I will hopefully throw my two cents of NL10 knowledge in. I am just about to move to NL25 SH, and I was wondering what criteria you will use for moving up through the limits?

Will it be purely based on a BRM, or after a number of hands?
Or will it based on BRM and self-satisfaction that you can truely beat the limit you are currently at?

I wasn't going to move up until I had played at least 100k hands (I know this is still a small sample) before moving up a limit. However, after just 40k hands I now have 40BI at NL25, and I feel I'm playing quite well (most of the time), so I think I will start to move up and see how it goes.

Looking forward to that video!!

basically based on brm. however, ofc we also want to see that we beat a certain limit. so it will be a mixture of all those factors.

btw: i also played 2 sessions nl10 so far (one is on video which will probably be published next week). here are my stats:
