Tricky spot versus maniac today. Villain range is very wide preflop and almost never fold to 3bet. Flop check is fine. I think we either want to fold turn or then make this call down. My reasoning was to have some showdown value, block straight and unblock both fd. But tough spot imo.

Suck to lose these ones. Short stack MP open, BU call, SB call, I squeeze, BU and SB call. Pot flop SPR 1.5. SB flop stack off is fine but man that preflop play :f_ugly:

Well like half hour later SB had spewed his 500bb stack. Not to me though.

Spoiler

One more use of small stack today. Semi good outcome in the end.

I open CO, BU 3bet, SB call, BB call, I 4bet, BU fold and blinds call. Pretty dangerous flop but both check to me and they had been doing good amount of cold calls to 3bets. So I think its just shove and pray. Not nice feeling though to shove almost 200bb with dry AAxx :pcuser:

Luckily both did fold.

Not so lucky in this one though. I just called MP open being deep stacked. BB squeeze, MP call and I 4bet. SPR on flop was like 0.3 vs BB and bit below one versus MP so just shove. I think BB shouldnt squeeze that hand and imo call to 4bet is losing play as well.

Open EP, CO 3bet and I call. Being almost 200bb deep 4bet even versus loose guy is probably bit tricky. 100bb I would not have minded 4bet. Flop x-c half pot cbet, turn goes checked. river went for x-c and got nice 4/5 pot bluff.

vs an EP raise, is opponents hand a standard 3Bet?
I would love to see a flop with this type of hand, but not sure it is a raise against a solid player

Nope its easy fold. Especially with upper gap.

3bet preflop in HU and went for x-r on flop. I think this hand is pretty good for it as raw equity is high but if I bet and get called there are lot of awkward turns if getting called. This turn would have been one of those. Villain is also aggro type and did go for 3/4 pot so I got committing x-r in. Villain preflop play fine but I think I would check flop in his shoes. Would bet AJ84+nfd though. Also this one if he had bit more support like gutshot.

Well I read them all, but I've more-or-less given up on PLO except as a segment of 8-Game.
I'm sometimes astounded at the hands people open, then play aggressively.

I watch JNandez' twitch stream every chance I get, and went through a month of his MasterMind course,[1] and I'm still bewildered.

[1] I won it in a draw on somebody's stream.

I did post some data from the 2k€ to 10k€ challenge recently in this blog. Well it's around 3 weeks now perhaps. BB/100 was close to 10 in plo25 over decent sample. Was it like 50k hands. Plo50 was not that much up though but one big difference in these limits is aggression.

Definitely good amount of players are too aggro especially with preflop 3bets but these guys seems to be quite bit less common in plo25. Versus these guys it's more important to have balance in lines as they could be very aggro in attacking weakness. Hopefully I will be able to beat plo50 with good win rate now as well :)

Just played short session but tables died pretty much. Nice almost 200€ profit though. Some interesting hands:

Spoiler

CO very lag reg open and I just call. Well I dont think this hand is that great to 3bet anyway. If it was AK76ds I would go for it. Flop this guy tends to cbet ton with these kinda big sizing on paired flops. So I thought I have no showdown value and plenty of bd stuff so lets raise half pot. Usually I want to have boat blocker but in this flop K has plenty of showdown value so I am not so sure if we want to use those that much for raising. Co folded to raise so one of boring wins :)

Spoiler

Perhaps spot to think about folding in this one. I open BU, SB call, BB squeeze and we both call. I had no maniac reads on BB at this point. SB donk pot and BB raise. I had SPR 2 vs SB and SPR 2.5 vs BB. But still I only need around 30% equity. In this case I had 44% which is actually kind of surprising. I suppose because they dont block any of my boat outs.

Spoiler

Perhaps badly played by me in this one. Well mainly its whatever 3bet is good option or not. So CO who opens almost everything but rarely 4bet so I thought to 3bet with my TT66ds. SB lag reg 4bet, probably has AAxx lot. BB cold call and CO call. So I get absurd price and I call as well. Pot is 81€ and I have 23.5€ behind so SPR 0.25 or so. SB check, BB check, CO bets 20€, I shove and SB shove. I thought with CO being crazy and he loved to bet flops that my TT might even be good. But when SB shove he has likely better than dry AAxx.

But yeah like in this spot I invested 23.5€ for pot of 145€ so my 5 outs (boat and bd fd) are actually enough. Turn open another fd and I mentally scream "heaaarrrrt!!!!" and BOOM. I suppose this would be moment to say justice in sarcastic way. But yeah crazy preflop action and after I went with 3bet there is nothing I could do otherwise.

Spoiler

I open BU and SB 3bet. This was one of call machine moments from me. Main reason for this was that I knew villain is bluff happy and his half pot, check, full pot is pretty weird line imo. This turn is not really spot where my range is supposed to bet that much so for villain to try x-r is not really a thing imo. I would likely bet AK or better though. I could bet this one also but thought that its also plausible to use it as bluff catcher on river.

So I check turn and villain pot river. It looks like A9, 66 or bluff to me. Decided to call pretty fast.

I would not vpip quite that bad ds hand in villain shoes but I can see logic in his postflop play. Flop is pretty much range cbet with small sizing. Turn he has very weak hand and my call show decent amount of strength. But when I check turn and he blocks 9 meaning I rarely have A9 or better he pots to attack my weak range. For this reason I think I have to find some light calls on river after checking turn.

But in general I think for villain it might be better to barrel turn and river if he wants to not give up on turn. That way he keeps his range uncapped. Issue of course is that I dont raise flop with anything basically so AK, KK are in my range. AA I would mainly 4bet with 160bb deep though perhaps I could have some of them. That said if I do fold river without 2 pair or better then this river pot is likely making nice amount of money.

Oh well took first shot at plo100. Played only one table which was absurdly good but as usual when there is some maniacs on the table my deck completely freezes. When I did have some playable hands flops didnt connect and draws not completing. When I did hit absolute maniac villain decided to not bet that time. When I opened KQJJss from BU and faced SB call and BB 3bet. Both maniacs and decide to 4bet and this time BB has AAxx... I mean guy is 3betting like f***ing 70% at minimum. Sometimes this guy just literally 3bets 95% or something. Perhaps still too loose to go with that.

PLO50 tables not much better really. Today hitting flops was miracle. Around 700€ down so this month took quite a hit (600-700€ up now) and I will likely stay away from plo100 for while. Tough sessions. Aggro opponents and not hitting anything doesnt help. Played on first session quite a lot versus one other aggro fellow. Got good amount of respect when betting but point is I was probably bluffing like 80% of time when betting as almost nothing connected in strong way.

congratulations & relax dude! i remember you were posting some plo10 hands back in the days and now you just added one more zero to the stakes! you already achieved a lot more than so many other hard trying but failed players!

I remember it was at the end of 2020: i climbed from plo10 to 50, took some shots at GGs plo100 but failed. I was very disappointed, especially of the game and why poker gods are not in my favour.

but in the end, a shot is a shot: a very small sample and variance is huge. being disappointed was objectivly stupid and emotional.

Not only I was somewhat disappointed that luck was not in my favor but on top of that germanys regulations kicked in and me out of business: many stupid regulations like no more tableselection, 4 tables max, no more extra rb in form of leaderboards etc.

you came a long way, zoom out, realize how far you have made it. then, intensify studies, you will see it was just a usual swong session in BBs but it is only fucked up because its like double the loss in your usual stakes and now you have to grind it back which feels like quadruple of pain.

I feel your pain but realise that you have a great opportunity by being able to take shots at plo100. from what i remember on plo100 at GG: there were definetly 1-2 players that I knew did intense studies on the GTO so competition gets tougher. but still plenty of fish so im sure you can make it, just a matter of time and willingness!

good luck! and remember: winners never quit, quitters never win ;)

I did play some holdem husng with shop points. 75€ worth of points became 100€ so that went nice.

Sure sample is small and it's just one day. It's just bit tougher when you get run over by these pure gamblers.

Huoh didnt play yesterday. Today came back to tables. First session was promising with bit over 200€ up. Then doom mode on in second session and 600€ down. Played mainly plo50 today and some plo25.

Shit like this left and right:

Spoiler

Open CO, BU call, SB maniac 3bet, I 4bet and SB call.

Spoiler

CO open, I 3bet from SB and CO call. Cbet 1/3 on flop and x-c turn versus 3/4 pot and river goes checked.

Spoiler

Open SB, BB 3bet and call. BB cbet pot on flop and I shove. SPR 5 on flop.

Spoiler

Literally next hand after winning above one on same table. When I saw that I have AAxx I mentally sighed as I knew what will happen pre. Could have made bet with someone for 100€ that SB will 3bet my open and not fold to 4bet. Indeen I open, SB 3bet, I 4bet and shove flop SPR 1. This is like 100th time this stuff happen with these maniacs. They lose big pot and next hand 3bet some garbage and get rewarded.

Spoiler

Probably cant fold this one. Open BU and both blinds call. Cbet flop, pot turn and get pot raised. Cant be too happy. SPR on turn was bit over 6.

Spoiler

Ton of these hands with different variations. Point is I mainly evaded my outs in big pots. In this CO open, BU call, I call, BB squeeze with his semi garbage, CO fold, BU call and I call. Flop I decided to donk pot with SPR 2 to try and get some folds. Though maybe bad option as getting both to fold is unlikely. Checked this one now and had 47% equity on flop.

Spoiler

This was annoying one. CO open, SB call, I squeeze and both call (surprise). Flop goes checked. Turn SB pot, I call, CO shove, SB shove and I call. That was the annoying part that CO shove when its very very likely that he needs to improve and has no fe obviously. That just barely opened betting round and then I had 41€ to call for 185€ pot. So needed like 25% equity and with this hand its very unlikely to not have it. In this case had 32%

Spoiler

This one was perhaps bad river call. My today nemesis maniac bluff happy fellow open BU, I 3bet BB. Cbet flop 3/4 pot, turn pot and x-c river versus pot bet which was 84€. I would as default fold river pretty much always but decided to be hero versus this guy. Point is he calls any fd most likely so while I dont block straight I do also unblock fd. Well this time he called flop with bare gs, got double gs on turn and nuts on river. Basically for turn call he needs me to hero river pretty much always when hitting. My guess though is that he would have probably bluffed flushing rivers.

Well anyway I think river fold would have been better play probably though could be close versus this fellow. He wasnt shy on bluffing but not sure if that applied to massive spot like this.

Month still few hundred up I suppose. Well probably back to tables tomorrow.

This one might have been questionable hero call moment as well. CO open, BU call, I squeeze SB and only BU call. Flop goes checked, turn I x-c versus pot bet. River x-c versus 4/5 pot bet. Well my reasoning was as follow:

- Flop goes checked so Q9+ and wraps less likely
- Turn villain pot which open lot of new draws like fd, A43, 678. Could have some 55 or two pairs like Q5.
- River villain fire big which would usually not be done with any two pair or even set. So its usually polarized into straight or bluff. I do block nuts with KK and should beat all bluffs. I did think also about donk betting river but it didnt feel that great as villain can have plenty of busted draws and considering flop and turn line those made hands seemed quite few.

Well villain seemed to indicate that my play was fishy but I dont know. Feels reasonable :)

Played mainy plo25 and one plo50 today. Very marginally profitable session but some nasty beats. Though one big pot with suckout as well.

Spoiler

This was really nasty beat. So MP open, I call CO, SB squeeze and we both call. Flop mid set. SB bets close to pot, MP shove his small stack and I go for iso shove. SB snap call with dry AAxx... Had over 90% equity in side pot. 70% in main pot:

Spoiler

Other sort of beat. Well I was way behind on flop but yeah solid play from BU. CO open, BU call, I squuze and both call. Flop went for half pot cbet and stack off versus BU raise. SPR was 4 on flop. But yeah QT53ss with lot suit... sigh.

Spoiler

This was interesting on turn decision imo. So I iso previous hand villain and get 3way on flop. Flop MP pots and I was happy to stack off with oesd and nfd so just pot raised. BB and MP both call. Turn SPR is only around 0.7 so I decided to ship it. Like if I have around 10 outs alive I dont need much fe at all. But I think fe is very very low and check to take free river is probably better.

This week have not played that much. Basically two reasons. One run has been pretty rough and I have done quite a bit of work outside. For example few different "fences" for flower beds and new base for our well pump. Well that pump is currently broken and would require some welding. Problem is that its cast iron pieces and I heard welding those is not that simple. Few images below. Pretty happy with results.

Poker wise played one session today. Not sure if playing another. Bit below 100€ from omaha and played two 25€ husng with shop points. Some hands from those so not just omaha content :)

Spoiler

I think this could be 3bet-called preflop as well but nothing wrong in calling either imo. Postflop I cant really do much else. Cant love river facing shove but folding this would be very exploitative. Especially blocking flush also. Hand is mostly bluff catcher but occasionally villain can perhaps have weaker Q as value shove.

I did win two hands after this to almost come back but then run into QQ. Facing hot deck villain suck big time in husng.

Spoiler

This one was pretty weird hand from villain. Anyway I limp and have to call versus small raise as default. Flop I decided to bet-fold as I have lot easier time to hit this flop outside of overpairs and turn doesnt change too much. Theory wise villain should imo check decent amount of overpairs also but most players wont do it. So in general we face lot of overcards in villain check range. Villain postflop play is good but preflop raise seems really bad.

These feel great when you are correct and very stupid when villain is value betting TT :D

Not sure theory wise. My call is probably too loose. But the thing in these spots is that my range is capped from start. This shallow its very standard to shove pre any Ax. So when I call flop minbet (villain used this sizing lot), turn goes checked and I check river J3 is actually high in my range. I can occasionally have Kx or flush as trap but those are still quite rare. So I felt like call is fine here.
