Okay, I just got an email from pokerstars saying pokerstars will be unavailable in my country from tomorrow 1st October onwards!! :f_o:

I need to move to GGPoker but can only do so when it becomes available in my country (could be tomorrow), and I can sign up through PokerStratgey for points.

So ... maybe no poker for a little while for me :f_frown: :f_frown:

Why do you need Strategy points?

A good deal with good rakeback and maybe rake races is so much more important.

No, strategy points are not very important, can also buy status, but I thought that was the most I can get out of it as a new player.

This is available for GGPoker? Because I'm not going anywhere else. I'll try google..

edit: Okay found it. Not available for me but that might chance soon.

Think about it long term. Once you register via a link, you can not change that in the future (or there is a very very small chance you can do it).

Let’s say you will play high volume on NL50+ in the future and rake a few thousand dollars in a month. What will be more valuable? Some strategy points or a better rakeback/rake chase deal?

No, you are right LahtiPelican, That's what I meant. I'd rather go for rakeback but I did not know it was available. I have not been following poker latter years.

So I will wait until that rakeback deal becomes available in my country for GGPOker, which might be soon.

What other options do you have?

Well if I understand correctly only an IPoker skin for now. Online gambling becomes legal as of tomorrow, but only a few business where granted a license, and only 2 of them offer poker.

Other platforms will come back but they get a penalty for offering their business while it was illegal. So they can only apply for a license next year april I read :f_rolleyes: Pokerstars, PartyPoker, Bwin, ...

And IPoker software I never liked. Rather pay more rake then ... not very money-efficient maybe but that's okay.

Welcome to my new home: :f_mad: :f_mad: :f_mad: :f_mad: :f_mad: :f_mad:

This is going to take some serious getting-used-to!
I played a few rounds of 'Rush & Cash'. Oooh man ... So many distracting things, animations, things popping up in the screen, all these things I don't want and are very annoying to me!!

Being able to have a very clean layout was one of the things I liked Pokerstars so much!! That's all gone now.

But I don't have any other choice. Pokerstars will be unavailable in my country for the next 6 months!! So it's GG or worse! Hopefully I can get tracked for rakeback when stars returns ... but I am probably not that lucky.

This all will result in me not playing a lot of hands the coming days... have to get used to this shit. Excuse my language but some kind of bunny popping on the table out of nowhere, popping up emoticons whenever the hand is done, etc etc etc is just shit!! And everything is animated a little bit which makes me anxious. Everthing is kinda flickering.

If they would have beaten Stars they had me for life, but guess they never will if they choose this route. But.. who am I .. probably not the average player.. so they should not care about my wishes..

Oh yeah -- I still have to find out -because my Holdem Manager is worthless here :f_mad: :f_mad:- how to get graphs of my losses, if it's possible at all. Otherwise I have to keep track ervery day by hand :f_o: ...

Not completely useless.

In GGPoker there is a button on the main lobby called Pokercraft -- in the bottom right.
When you click it, your default browser opens.
Now you have access to all sorts of things -- one of them is your complete hand history for the past week
On the left, click the game type, then on the page that opens you select the date range, then select the sessions, and you'll be able to download the histories in a format HM3 can use.

I would suggest created a separate database just for GG so that when (or if) you go back to PokerStars your original database doesn't have all the GG Stuff in it

Aah thanks a lot Vorpal!! That is information I really want to know! How nice.

I already found the pokercraft page, but not yet this option!

Thanks to Vorpal I can still use Holdem Manager to monitor my game.

At first glance there seems to be a nice amount of fish in the GGPoker pool!!
Played a bit of Rush and a few MTTs, and am already getting used to the software a bit, at least the game-table. This is going to be allright ... only wished there was an option to auto-decline insurance, running multiple times etc.

This is only about 450 hands.

Looks like the forced switch to GG may work out nicely for you.

I've been thinking of giving it a shot too since the field seems so soft, but I can't stand animations and busy interfaces... I even turn off people's avatars and throwables in PokerStars cause it distracts me way too much. Every time I think about switching, I see the interface and cringe... I'm hoping they will introduce a "clean" interface soon.

The same goes for me regarding interfaces ... but I don't go as far as turn off avatars :f_tongue: Also because I recognized people by their avatar. You're a bit more extreme than me in this :f_tongue:

That is why I am amazed I am already getting used to it. Just ignore the rabbit.

I don't think you will ever be able to get a very clean interface like the Stars' Blue Mercury theme (remember?) at GGPoker, this is the path the have chosen and all of it is part of their 'image' .

Nightly Update:
I played 1K hands now at GGPoker Rush and I probably ran good postflop:

Besides that, I am doing the Honeymoon promo at GGPoker and stuff, which should make me some nice bankrollboost. $$$ Just have to do my challenge every day the coming 29 days! Oh my I just moved there and they are already controlling me ...

But yeah there is some serious monies involved: :f_tongue: These are the rewards for the mission:

So I guess the missions don't increase too much in time needed to fullfil them? Or are they luring me in and at the end they're like yeah but your last mission is to wash my car, take my suits to the drycleaners', clean my house, clean my dog???

Because I have no idea what I'm getting myself into here :f_tongue:

Clean the dog wasn't one of them, but the car washing one was a snap

Some of them require volume -- the trick there is play tight, get the volume in and wait for the opportunity to pounce.
Some of them require finishing ITM in tournaments -- I made that one, but one of the ones I failed at was to make a FT

Yes, if I have to play higher limits or omaha I just play tight. Omaha I might loose a bit though. -- But ... do you have to reach a final table of an mtt within 24 hours?? And if not I miss out on the last $150 already? Or maybe I get the 30 days to succeed? hmmm... We'll see .. anyway, thanks for reply!

Just take 'em as they come.
It may be your time to make a FT -- who knows.

I can't remember all the tasks any more.
Even if you miss a couple, it is still a decent shot in the arm for your bankroll

I have never played on GG, but a few month ago I saw this site about honeymoon challenges: https://honeymoonmissions.com/list-of-honeymoon-missions/

Idon't know if they are changed them or they are the same now.
