Well :gl: to me in the $50 Holdem MTT with the ticket I already have!!

You would be surprised.
Read over the PLO basics, and if you win the ticket, go for it.

I was also upset about this change. The value of the $50 Omaha ticket is exactly 0 for me. Also as I don't like to play MTTs, the $50 NLHE ticket is better only because I know the game at least.

Does anyone know what happen to the tickets after they expire? Do they change to T$ or just get lost?

5K Hands at $5nl ..

I managed to be in red at almost every position :f_tongue:

But I just got 2nd/68 in a small hyper mtt so that makes up for that ... I am liking the smaller hyper mtts at GG.

I did go for the ticket, right now I am playing a very small $5 PLO sattelite for which I also got the ticket. About 35 entrees. And you where right, this is quite soft. I am in top 3 the whole first hour I think. :f_tongue: :f_tongue: The big $50 MTT also has a lot bad playes probably then ...

If I win a ticket with this one, I have to play stage1 of the $50 immediately. And then I have another shot with the ticket!

I am kind of liking it, it is a fun game Omaha :f_p:, I think I like it more in tournament form then in cashgame...
well, it's like holdem a lot, but different ... a lot more redrawing going on. The nuts is a very relative thing in Omaha, but you can all relate it to Hold'em, which helps a lot ofc :f_tongue:

Yes I though so to Vorpal! But, I managed to get it in with a set vs a naked flushdraw on the turn, and I lost ... out without bounty!

But I still have 1 chance with the other ticket which has become a lot more valuable now that it is a KO.

Although this is pretty sick:

These Stage1's run throughout the day, and they will combine all chips at day 2 :f_tongue: :f_tongue: I'm guessing some people will have a lot of chips then.

Okay,

So I lowered my first goal for the Bankroll Challenge to $500

This is something that seems reachable for now.

Wow Vorpal was really right, I do stand a chance in these PLO tournaments ... probably I'm bad but still a lot of players are worse :f_tongue:

I'm sure going to play more PLO Mtts!! Right now I'm playing a $50 KO (ticket), and they let me be chipleader from the start (only 35 min now). Already KO'd 3 :f_drink: :f_drink:

I don't even play PLO :f_p:

How's that for a change ..

Nice Payouts in the Sunday Omaha MTT I am in! But still 50% Overlay, I don't know how many players there will be. I am at position 51 now, so I have a decent chance to complete my bankroll chalenge Sunday, now that I lowered it haha :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin:

But like I posted before, this is pretty sick:

You can accumulate chips with multiple day 1's ... so some rich people will have a lot of chips vs me. But ... I have 100 bbs!

I'm sure everybody is playing the Main Event now ...

Meanwhile I'm playing some Omaholic MTTs and reading up to the bronze Omaha stuff on this website to upgrade my PLO skills...

Does anybody have good free resources for PLO? Let me know ...

I'm new with this PLO, I'm pretty sure I played less than 1000 hands of PLO in my life before these sattelites. I even forgot you had to you have to use 2 holecards and called with an 'Ace-high flush' in a PLO cashgame for that welcoming stuff at GG. Omg I just had the Ace of clubs :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin:

But reading the first articles I am doing allright and naturally made right adjustments.

I did not read any articles before because I did not want to kill my Mojo, because whatever I'm doing, it seems to work. And while good information will make you better in the long term, it can make you doubt yourself and stuff in the short term. And that's not what I need.
But yeah I did decide to read the basic stuff, and it only built my confidence!

But I really like the game and want to play it after the Sunday MTT as well, so I want to study the game, anybody have very good resources?

Cheers!

Welcome to the dark side.

When a hold'em player converts to PLO

Joey Ingram

Seriously I think you can learn much from Pokerstrategy and from coach Kyyberi here. Or Poker Mastermind I believe is quite popular, though that's not free.

Congrats on your nice score. I think cash game omaha and tournament omaha have pretty signifigant differences. In cash games you'll want to have good hands, in tournaments you'll want to have big stack and score those KO's. Also I believe that tournament omaha in general is quite soft game and one can find nice edge there if one knows some basics.

I thought that the cash PLO I recently played was not as soft as these MTTs. I am lauging so hard sometimes because people do the stupiest (?) things. I have a small samplesize though ....

Hee thanks Pelican!

I am already out, I could not hit anything postflop with good starting hands, but I did get in the monies ... including bounty +$295 :f_drink: :f_drink:

BR = $398 / $500

It feels so nice because I didn't invest anything in it!

... So Pelican, what did your unclaimed tickets become now?

I have not played a lot of poker this week ... no cashgames at all, did play some MTTs... BR shrank (?) a bit again ....

I have been busy with other things I like to do as well, namely programming this time!
... But it's okay: it is still poker-(study)-related! Right now I am programming some fundamental things needed to solve for some holdem situations. But like usual, the project grows and grows. And like I like to do with a lot of things, I do everything myself from scratch. I still need to do a lot before I will be able to do anything with it. And then it might even be the case it will take a lot of time to do calculations with it.

When I finish it (which is whenever) I will take a look at the Allin-or-Fold Games on GG. Maybe I can calculate what hands I can profitably shove vs a few different opponent's allin ranges ... Well, I don't actually need to do all this programming for that, I can probably figure it out with Equilab-sort-of-software and a calculator ... but I like to do the programming, and I will be able to use it for all sorts of holdem-related calculations...

So, ... will report for Bankroll Challenge tomorrow..
