Weekly Vote: What's Your Take on Cheong's A7 Hand in the WSOP Main Event?

The 2010 WSOP Main Event is over and the winner has been crowned, but there is still one hand that is under discussion: Chip leader Joseph Cheong's six-bet shove with A7 into fellow big stack Jonathan Duhamel. What's your take on this play?

When the first part of the final table concluded early Sunday morning at local Las Vegas time, most people were still astonished by what they just had witnessed. Play had been three-handed after Filippo Candio's bust-out and only Joseph Cheong, Jonathan Duhamel and John Racener were still on the felt, fighting for the two seats in the heads-up.

With only around 30 million chips in front of him, John Racener was supposed to be the one to bust out first as Joeseph Cheong and Jonathan Duhamel were in a commanding lead with 90 and 80 million chips respectively.

It probably would have been so, but Joseph Cheong had other plans. Sitting in the small blind with , he raised it up and the big blind, Jonathan Duhamel, 3-bet. Cheong replied with a 4-bet and his opponent re-raised yet again, this time to 22.5 million.

In spite of the display of strength on Duhamel's end, Cheong didn't slow down and 6-bet shoved. Duhamel called with and the queens held up, almost eliminating Cheong and making Duhamel the chip leader with a stack of almost 85% of the chips in play.

Of course it's easy to take a look at this from a results-oriented point of view, but maybe there is some merit to this play? If Duhamel had folded, Cheong would have been chip leader by an even larger margin and on a good course to take down the Main Event. So what do you think? Do you like the play? Do you hate it?
