English Community Round-up
Welcome to the news round-up for the English Community. Each week, we will keep you in touch with some of the most important threads within the forum together with some of the fun posts, so that you never need to miss them.

Community round-up is your weekly source for all that happens inside
the PokerStrategy forums. If you missed something last week and you
still want to be in touch with our community, here are some of the most
important posts. This is just one of many community-related projects
being set up.
Poker Blog of the week this week is from community member nickparkes:
Started in February this year, this blog, with a title that everyone can associate with, already has a good following and includes a lot of humour as well as the usual stats and graphs etc.
I particularly like the recent comment "The $22s still don't seem to like me much, but that's ok cos I'm gonna
stroke them, and pet them, and scratch them behind the ear until they
purr...".
Nice one nickparkes, keep up the good work.
Ok, this week you will have to bear with me, I'm venturing into unknown territory, namely the world of 7 card Stud.
Our sample hand is provided by community member ttt241 who seeks second opinions on the play, in particular "Is this a fold on 5th street?"

spotlight on
Spotlight this week on community member kennyxx, interviewed by eaglestar88.
PokerStrategy: Hi kennyxx welcome and thanks for agreeing to an interview for the community. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
kennyxx: Hi and thanks for setting this up and for making these round-ups for us. I'm Libor, 26 Years old. I'm from Hradec, Czech Republic and working as technician in IT.
PokerStrategy: Is there a story behind the nickname, does it have any special meaning?
kennyxx: Many people were asking me what my nick means, but I never told anybody. I would like to keep this in private. Maybe next time.
PokerStrategy: Yes of course, totally understand and we all respect that. How long have you been playing poker and how did you start?
kennyxx: I've been playing more than a year now, but with several breaks. Not everything is easy in my life...
First time I found poker on one sports betting site - do I have to mention the result? 😀
PokerStrategy: No, let's keep everyone guessing. 😉 How would you describe your poker style?
kennyxx: Most of time TAG, but sometimes you have to adjust to the oponent's style so I'm mixing up all styles between maniac and nit.
PokerStrategy: Which variants are you currently playing and at what levels?
kennyxx: Mainly FLSH 0,5$/1$, but I just discovered the world of Omaha and giving it some playing time.
PokerStrategy: Ah nice. Do you ever play any live events?
kennyxx: Sadly not, but some of my friends do. One of them (who is crushing their games) told me he is playing online as well, but just for playmoney... So the level of players there would be amazing 😀
PokerStrategy: If you had to have a theme tune to enter a poker tournament to (like boxers when they enter the ring), what would it be?
kennyxx: Never thought about it, but something crazy for sure.
PokerStrategy: Who are your favourite poker pro's?
kennyxx: I think Scoty is one of my favorites, can't say why exactly... but I like some others as well: terrorblade, grummeler,... 🙂
PokerStrategy: What has been your biggest success/achievement in poker so far?
kennyxx: Best for me is, that I found pokerstrategy and people here.
PokerStrategy: What do you like most about PokerStrategy?
kennyxx: Articles, coachings and videos are great, but people here are the main reason for me.
PokerStrategy: Do you have a favourite blog that you are currently following?
kennyxx: As a FL player, I'm following many of FL blogs, like opal99, amirapuato, coreysteel, waiboy and many many others. Actually I could write down most bloggers. I hope my blog will revive soon as well.
PokerStrategy: Cool. What advice would you give to our newer members just starting out in poker for the first time?
kennyxx: Don't be so hurry with moving up the limits and take Your time. It's better to correcting leaks for cheap. I saw many times rocket starts and final results were mostly the same.
PokerStrategy: Is there anyone in particular from the community you'd like to give a shout out to?
kennyxx: primzi. He is doing great job as FL judge. Keep up good work, man. 😉
I would like to mention, that there are some Slovakian guys, who are
doing very good (like opal99, thelastnail,..), and I hope some other
Czech/Slovakian members will became so succesfull as well. Since It
could have an affect on setting up the Czech and Slovakia community on
PokerStrategy.com
PokerStrategy: Yes that would be cool, but we'd hate to lose you all from the English community. Maybe you could do both 🙂
Do you have any hobbies outside of poker?
kennyxx: Photography, all kinds of board sports,...too many to mention them all, but I already pilot aeroplane few times, so maybe...
PokerStrategy: Wow, not many can say they've piloted an aeroplane, nice. If you were able to have 3x wishes what would you ask for?
kennyxx:
1. Health for my family.
2. Health for my family.
3. Health for my family. This is all I want, everything else is not important.
PokerStrategy: Totally agree, first, foremost & always. Anything really bugs you in life, what do you get annoyed at most?
kennyxx: My job definetely.
PokerStrategy: Well thank you for doing this interview, you've given us all a great insight into the person behind the nickname and we're very grateful for you taking the time out to talk to us today. We wish you continued success with your poker and look forward to seeing you in the forum and on the green felt soon.
kennyxx: Thank You and GL to everyone not just in their poker lifes.
Would you like to be interviewed yourself one week or maybe you'd like to
nominate a fellow member who you would like to know more about? Drop me
a reply in the feedback thread and maybe your wish will come true.
Finally picture of the week has to be this offering from community member primzi who thought he recognised certain Community Managers in a picture of a rock concert. Not exactly sure what keywords he was searching for when he came across this photo and not sure I want to know lol but enjoy. 🙂
SoyCD and Vhallee at a rock concert in Germany?
As always, this is your Community page and whilst I try to browse most forum threads looking for points of interest, it's of course not possible to cover everything. So go on, drop me some suggestions and/or your thoughts on what you would like to appear in this Round-up news item in the following feedback thread.
