Flopped the nuts? I'd better check/call!
If that's all you know about how to slowplay your hands, you need to take a look at this new lesson "keeping ranges wide".
| New NL-Lesson: | ||
"Slowplay" is a misleading term.
For most people, it means playing a strong hand passively in order to hide its strength. However, you need to ask yourself when you should be avoiding +EV value bets in favour of plays with greater overall EV.
Keeping ranges wide doesn't have to be a symptom of fancy play syndrome but can objectively be the best play. The details of this are given in our newest lesson.
As a warm-up, test yourself on these hands - how would you play them?
Example 1
NL25 - You open raise 66 on the button, the big blind calls and checks the flop to you. Check or bet?
Example 2
NL25 - You open raise A2 on the button. The big blind calls. What do you do with your trips after your opponent checks?
Example 3
NL25 - Again, you open raise on the button and are called by the big blind. Here, you get check-raised by your opponent. What do you do?
