We have prepared a four part Pot Limit Omaha series aimed at those of you willing to try this poker variant. The first video will start off with a presentation of the game itself to players who already have some experience with Texas Hold'em.

huckebein has prepared a video series for players starting out with Pot Limit Omaha. The series will consist of three presentations and a session review.
Above all, the "PLO for Beginners" series should address players who already have some experience with Texas Hold'em games and who are now curious about testing a new variant. However, very experienced players can also learn something in this series. Total newcomers could be swamped at some points, but they should also be able to profit to some extent from these videos. |

PokerStrategy.com: What game did you play when you first started and why?
huckebein: I started with NL SSS, but switched soon to BSS short-handed. Then I tried out SNG as well and played FL too. I really don't like to focus on a game type and keep changing my focus on different gamet ypes.
PokerStrategy.com: What made you switch to have PLO in your repertoire?
huckebein: I used to try all game types and PLO was kind of "love at first sight". I like the action and that everything is really close equity-wise.
PLO is a postflop game and if you want to have fun, you can even play any hand you get. I usually do this on low limits when I want to have fun. There are a lot of possible ways to play PLO. Of course the TAG style is the easiest one to play and I recommend it in my series, and I ran really nice when I started PLO, that's why I liked it even more.
PokerStrategy.com: What do you enjoy about PLO?
huckebein: PLO is a total different game to Hold'em; it is more a postflop game and you need a different approach to it. In addition, there is still no "one and only" winning strategy in it and Omaha is still an "unexplored land". You have to experience the swings and the action involved.
PokerStrategy.com: Do you think the opponents you have in PLO differ very much from other game types?

huckebein: The main difference in PLO is that you cannot identify fish just by their stats like in Hold'em. There are really strong players who don’t play the usual TAG style, but instead have fish stats like 75/10, or 50/40, or even 40/5. It happened to me sometimes that some opponents I considered fish at the beginning were excellent players and rushed up the limits.
PokerStrategy.com: What do you think PokerStrategists will gain from this series?
huckebein: The series is designed for beginners in PLO who try to move there and want some basic knowledge and strategy to become a winning player. There is a lot more basic stuff you have to consider in comparison to Hold'em, but it is not that tough in the end. If you have draws for example, you always should draw to the nuts. That is a concept which doesn't apply that much in Hold'em, where Q or K-high flushes are more often than not the nuts.
PokerStrategy.com: How do you feel about having your series dubbed in English?
huckebein: Well, it is always very interesting to see your own videos in a different language, because it doesn't look like your own video. It sounds different, the rhythm is different and sometimes you see new aspects in it which you didn't realize while recording.
