New Concept for Black Member Events
After eleven Black Member Events, and with more than 300 Black Members soon, we feel it's time for something new. Today we introduce our new concept for Black Member Events.
Just like many great things in life, the Black Member Events started small. Just a handful of people met in 2007 for the first event and since then a total of eleven parties has taken place. Starting from a simple combination, of a dinner followed by a party, Black Member Events have reached the level of being a major happening.
In just a few months, we expect to surpass the 300 Black Members mark. This is the right size to improve the Black Member Event concept in a sustainable way and introduce many of the things our Black Members have wished for in the past.
1. Variety: There are plenty of different preferences - there is not one single solution that will be perfect for everyone.
2. Cosiness: Smaller groups lead to real interaction and it's easier to meet new people.
3. Flexibility: A wider choice of options reduces availability constraints for our Black Members.
4. Fairness: Even Black Members who do not have the chance to accumulate many StrategyPoints constantly will be able to participate in our events.
5. Internationality - We are aiming at hosting Black Member Events in other countries than Germany to reduce the travel inconveniences for Black Members from outside Germany.
The System
Most of the old system will remain the same for the players, but now you have the chance to collect StrategyPoints for up to three tickets per year which can be used for different events.
How can I qualify for a ticket?
• There are three qualification periods for Black Members per year, each of them spanning four months. Those will be the months January to April, May to August and September to December.
• If you score 33,000 or more StrategyPoints during a period, you will be awarded an event ticket.
• If you score 100,000 or more StrategyPoints during a period, you will also be awarded a token for travel reimbursements.
• If you score less than 33,000 StrategyPoints during a period, these StrategyPoints will be transferred to the next period. This qualification period is excluded for the first event of any new Black Members as they will receive one event ticket right away.
A travel reimbursement token can be optionally booked for any event, as a credit to your promotion account. You can withdraw this credit through a variety of payment methods including MoneyBookers or PartyPoker.
The rules
• If you become a Black Member you will receive an event ticket right away for the qualification period during which you became a Black Member. The usual rules apply for the travel reimbursement token.
• You can't qualify for more than one event ticket and one travel reimbursement token during one period.
• An event ticket is valid for twelve months after the qualification period during which it has been awarded.
• Event tickets and travel reimbursement tokens are non-transferable.
• The maximum number of participants to an event varies and might be limited. The usual rule of "first come, first serve" applies.

The Events
The classic Black Member Event encompasses three parts: hotel, dinner and party, and events with this format will of course still be held. We have however, designed new events that focus on specific themes, to cater for those with different tastes.
Starting in 2011, the following events will be available:
• Classic Event - similar to past Black Member Events
• Gourmet Food and Wine Event
• Paintball Event
• Rafting Event

The Classic Events that have been scheduled so far will offer one night of accommodation, but based on the first feedback of our Black Members we are planning on extending the stay of our guests to two nights at events in Germany as well.
The selection of events will be constantly updated, and it depends entirely on the demands and interests of the Black Members.
