Chris Moneymaker Turns Back the Clock at ACR Poker

Chris Moneymaker is back in the ACR Poker spotlight, winning the $10,300 Phil’s Thrill PKO for more than $191,000 before taking the overall chip lead in the OSS #2 $1.5M GTD Main Event. With WSOP Las Vegas approaching, the poker legend is once again proving he can compete with the modern elite.

His Phil’s Thrill victory came in one of online poker’s toughest high roller formats. The $10,300 buy-in PKO attracted 58 entries and built a $580,000 prize pool, packed with elite competition. Moneymaker navigated the field, captured the title, and collected more than $191,000 in prize money and bounties.

Instead of slowing down after the win, Moneymaker jumped straight into one of the flagship events of ACR Poker’s $20 Million Online Super Series, running from May 11 to May 25. The $1,050 OSS #2 Main Event drew 827 entries, but Moneymaker once again rose to the top, bagging 185.61 big blinds and the chip lead after Day 1A. The winner is set to earn at least $300,000.

The run is another reminder of Moneymaker’s staying power in a game that has changed dramatically since his historic 2003 WSOP Main Event victory. Back then, his online satellite win turned into a world championship and sparked the global poker boom known as the Moneymaker Effect.
