Analysis: Full Tilt Poker's New EDGE Loyalty System
PokerStrategy.com has analysed the new loyalty system in place at Full Tilt Poker now that additional details have been revealed.
As PokerStrategy.com members will be retroactively de-tracked by Full Tilt, players will no longer be able to receive affiliated-based rakeback. In addition, promotions such as Iron Man and Black Card have been removed.
After Full Tilt's new base loyalty scheme was branded as one of the lowest in the industry, they announced additional player incentives alongside their new EDGE loyalty scheme.
We have analysed the new system in comparison to the old affiliate-based system, the conclusion being that players receive significantly less than they would have under the old system.
New Full Tilt Poker EDGE vs. old 27% affiliate rakeback
The new EDGE system (which is replacing 27% rakeback via affiliates) is divided into five tiers, from Bronze to Diamond.
Your status is dependant on how many Full Tilt Points (FTPs) you earn over a 7-day, 30-day or 100-day rolling average. Players receive 10 FTPs per $1 of rake generated.
Players will receive weekly payments based on their status level and the FTPs earned in the qualifying period, ranging from freeroll entries to $2.50 per 100 FTPs (25% rakeback).

The following table shows how much rake you must generate (in US$) over a 30-day period based on the 7-, 30- and 100-day rolling average.
| Full Tilt Poker Rake Requirements per 30 Days | |||
| Status | Based on 7-day avg | Based on 30-day avg | Based on 100-day avg |
| Bronze | $30.00 | N/A | N/A |
| Silver | $150.00 | $105.00 | $75.00 |
| Gold | $300.00 | $225.00 | $150.00 |
| Platinum | N/A | $450.00 | $300.00 |
| Diamond | N/A | $1,050.00 | $750.00 |
The graph below shows how the EDGE system compares to the old 27% affiliate-based rakeback. Note that under the old rakeback system, there were potential deductions from rakeback payments so that the average rate was less than 27%.
*Gross affiliate-based rakeback of 27% was reduced
depending on bonuses cleared and promotions joined.
Additional Full Tilt Poker incentives
| EDGE Diamond Store Rakeback | ||
| Bonus | FTPs | Rakeback |
| $50 | 15,000 | 3.9% |
| $100 | 28,500 | 4.1% |
| $250 | 65,000 | 4.5% |
| $500 | 125,000 | 4.7% |
| $1,000 | 240,000 | 4.9% |
| $2,000 | 460,000 | 5.1% |
| $5,000 | 1,100,000 | 5.3% |
At the old Full Tilt, there were two major additional incentives for players: the Black Card system and Iron Man program. These additional incentives will no longer continue at the new Full Tilt, and will instead be replaced with the EDGE Diamond Store.
Based on our analysis, assuming 30% of hands are played during Happy Hour, the EDGE Diamond Store is worth up to 5.3% extra rakeback.
As the below graph demonstrates, it is very difficult to quantify the old Black Card and Iron Man systems with a concrete monetary value, as return to players differed greatly depending on volume and consistency.

Additional analysis details
The above analysis does not include Full Tilt Poker's initial relaunch promotions such as 24/7 Happy Hours or the $250,000 Deal Me In promotion. Full Tilt Poker's EDGE information is accurate as of November 1, 2012. Predicted rakeback figures are approximate and will vary from player to player.
