EPT Madrid Begins Today
The European Poker Tour returns to Spain for the EPT Madrid. The earlier Spanish event in this season, EPT Barcelona, saw a PokerStrategy.com Black Member win the title.

The EPT Madrid begins today, carrying a buy-in of €5,300 and with a large field expected for the second EPT event on Spanish soil this season. At the beginning of EPT season eight, PokerStrategy.com member Martin Schleich defeated a field of 811 in Barcelona to secure his first EPT title.
This time last year...
Last year, the EPT made its first stop in Madrid. However, this was a special affair as it marked the first time that the EPT Grand Final had moved from Monte Carlo. The €10,000 Main Event attracted a field of 686, with Venezuelan player Ivan Freitez winning the event and €1,500,000.
EPT Madrid 2012
This year, the EPT Madrid is a regular €5,300 EPT tournament which should attract a more sizeable field than 2011's Grand Final. The earlier Spanish event in season eight, EPT Barcelona, saw 811 players put up €5,300 to create a prize pool of more than €4.5 million.

Though this year the EPT Madrid is not hosting the Grand Final event, a star-studded field is expected. PokerStars Pros who are confirmed for the event include Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Lex Veldhuis, Luca Pagano and local grinder Ana Marquez.
