EPT Monte Carlo: Eight PokerStrategists in the Hunt

After the two opening days of play, six PokerStrategists and two Team PokerStrategy.com members are still in the hunt for a piece of the €8.48 million prize pool. PokerNoob was the sole team member who played on Day 1B.

Day 1B of the PokerStars European Poker Tour in Monte Carlo saw a further 497 sign-ups to take the total to 848. They generated a prize pool of €8.48 million with the winner and first runner-up set to go home with €1.7 million and €1 million respectively. 413 players remain in the hunt.

Day 1B saw PokerNoob hit the tables as the sole representative from Team PokerStrategy.com. Several PokerStrategists also joined him at the tables. They included fabstinho, vedevas, infinity1000, kariyou77, geniodelletartarughe, draction and maddyhh.

The last three names from this list did not survive the day and will not be returning on Day 2. PokerNoob also hit the rails, but will be returning to play in the €5,250 No Limit Hold'em side event.

Two team members and six PokerStrategists on Day 2

Brazilian Thiago Nishijima (pictured right) is the chip leader with 264,200 chips. EPT San Remo winner Liv Boeree and WSOP Main Event Champions Joe Hachem and Joe Cada are some of the big names that still remain in the hunt.

Meanwhile, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Daniel Negreanu, Gus Hansen, Peter Eastgate and Jason Mercier were all eliminated in Day 1B. Viktor Blom was also sent to the rails by Leo Margets.

Leading the charge for Team PokerStrategy.com on Day 2, will be Day 1A chip leader ScHnibL0r. He is currently in fourth place and holding 175,200 chips. Fellow team member Bokkie will also be returning with 29,500 chips.

The six PokerStrategists who will be joining them in Day 2 are:
