ESPN Inside Deal with Daniel Negreanu and Michael Binger

This week, Daniel Negreanu joined the show via satellite after hosting a WCOOP event while Michael Binger joined the hosts live at the Inside Deal studio to talk about poker and physics.

ESPN's Inside Deal features a 2 for 1 deal with both Daniel Negreanu and Michael Binger joining the show as the feature guests for this week. Negreanu joined the show via satellite from Las Vegas while Michael Binger was at the studio with the hosts.

Before the interviews began, the show started off with the usual round-up of recent poker events and other related news. Particular focus was placed on the recent announcement of the omission of Tom "durrrr" Dwan from the Poker Hall of Fame final nominee list.

Negreanu not thinking about Team Europe

Fresh from hosting a WCOOP event, Negreanu was the first guest to be interviewed. When asked about his plans for Team Americas in the upcoming Caesar's Cup, Negreanu stated that he will try to focus more on his own players rather than trying to figure out what Team Europe's plans will be like.

The Team Americas captain said that his main focus will be on picking pairs of players that will be able to work well together, as the Caesar's Cup is a predominantly team based event. Before ending his segment, he also answered some fan's questions with regards to his small ball tournament strategy and strategies for playing on the lower limit tables.

Michael Binger - from Physics to Poker

Michael Binger who has a PhD. in Physics from Stanford was next in line to be interviewed. The obvious question that came out first was of course how Binger ended up in poker, after spending so much time in the world of Physics.

Like many other college students, Binger explained that he was feeling burnt out from his graduate studies and found poker as an outlet for him to spend some time away from school work. He however quit poker for some time to finish off his studies, but once he defended his thesis, he went to play in the WSOP Main Event in 2006 and finished third behind Jamie Gold.

As in previous episodes, the final segment featured Binger "Under The Gun" where he answered a series of viewer's questions that ranged from poker and string theory.
