When bad luck turns to good
Sometimes a bad beat can cause you to lose your mind and destroy everything in sight and other times it can lead you to make some truly inspired decisions
At the recent WPT Canadian Spring Open Richard Figiel choose the latter of those two options after he busted out of the Main Event.
Having lost his chips on Day 1A, the circuit grinder sat down in the nearest $1/$2 cash game and a few hands in he committed his stack with pocket sevens on a 
board.
Dimitri Morcos was quick to call with pocket tens and eventually scooped the pot with quad tens to release the Playground Poker Club's $415,000 bad beat jackpot.
After realising what had happened a stunned Figiel was handed $157,865 as compensation for his bad beat; an amount which was only $3,134 less than the WPT's top prize.

We all love a bit of chip pornography every now and again which is why this shot of some $500,000 plaques from Macau look so good.
Posted on Twitter last night, the image comes courtesy of resident grinder and impromptu Big Game reporter Tom Hall.
After playing a session of $2,000/$4,000 NLHE, Tom managed to walk away with a few bundles of cash as well as some tasty looking plaques from Star World Casino.
Tom's latest tweet comes off the back of a recent report which shows that Macau's gaming revenue is continuing to grow at an impressive rate.
Over the past two months the gambling Mecca has turned over $9.2 billion which is an increase of 25% compared to 2013.

There's no doubt the Gus Hansen has heart, but at the moment it seems as though he lacks any skill after another poor performance left him with a six-figure deficit.
Despite grinding through 1,022 hands the Danish pro dropped $370,566 to finish ahead of Patrik Antonius and Viktor Blom on the daily loss leaderboard. Not only that, but Hansen's total online losses have now surpassed the $17.5 million mark.
Finishing with the most profit on Thursday was PokerStrategist hasufly. After scooping $369,264 the online pro finished ahead of 'Crazy Elior' and 'Trueteller' who each secured six-figure wins.
