JC Tran will be going for another major title later today when the WPT Rolling Thunder Main Event gets underway.
Taking placing in arguably the best named casino in the world - Thunder Valley Casino - the $3,500 Main Event welcomed a slew of stars, including PokerStrategist Marvin 'xcrash154' Rettenmaier, earlier this week and will now come to a conclusion tonight.
After whittling down the field from 465 to six, the tournament will see the final few compete for a $302,750 top prize and when the action kicks off Tran will be one of the main contenders for the title.
Despite holding the second smallest stack, Tran will still be a threat for the likes of Quoc Pham and Preston Harwell who hold the bulk of the chips in play.

We're used to reporting on our famous community members hitting big tournament scores, but we don't usually get the chance to celebrate the MTT exploits of our less visible grinders.
However, in the last 24 hours one of our forum moderators, 
HollyMichelle, gave us that opportunity after he pushed his way past more than 4,400 players to take second place in MicroMillions Event #36.
Playing under the screen name 'UPAY4DINNER', HollyMichelle decided to late register for the event after waking up early to feed his 8-month old daughter. As the tournament progressed he was forced to switch to PokerStars' mobile client and play the final three hours whilst shopping with his wife.
In the end HollyMichelle wasn't able to overcome 'jorge pieles' heads-up, however, after eight hours of grinding on the move he was able to bank $5,232 and prove "fish can still win" and you "don't need a myriad of stats to cash for a big amount".

It was a case of what goes up must come down last night as Gus Hansen saw $463,786 of his recent profits slip from his grasp. Despite putting in more than 1,400 hands against the likes of Viktor Blom and Hac Dang, Gus was unable to replicate the form that saw him bank almost $1 million on Monday. Thankfully, however, Gus still has some of his recent haul left so we could see this latest round of action continue for a few more days yet.
Stopping Gus in his tracks and topping the daily profit leaderboard after another exciting 24 hours of poker was Viktor Blom. After scooping $314,182, the Swede was able to finish ahead of Dang and 'Trueteller' who both enjoyed six-figure wins.

St. Patrick's Day seems to be the adopted public holiday of everyone across the world and when the Guinness was flowing on Monday Marvin 'xcrash154' Rettenmaier was on hand to show some Irish pride.
