Somerville's new Twitch format
Jason Somerville is innovating on Twitch once again with this intriguing new idea for the platform.
In his new show he commentates while a player with a head camera is seated at a live poker table, with the Twitch audience voting on how they should play the hand. It looks eerily like a Choose Your Own Adventure story.
While no doubt the idea of head cameras in a live card room will scare some, this is still fascinating to watch.
Al Alvarez passes away
Acclaimed writer Al Alvarez has passed away at the age of 90.
His body of work is rich and varied but he is best known in poker circles for having written the 1983 book The Biggest Game in Town, which followed the likes of Doyle Brunson and Stu Ungar during the 1981 World Series of Poker.
The iconic book was considered by many to be the first great piece of poker literature and introduced the wider world to professional poker, way before the likes of ESPN and Rounders made it mainstream.
Two deep WCOOP runs streamed
We have reached the $5,200 WCOOP Main Event final table following two very impressive deep runs from streamers. As we mentioned yesterday Fintan Hand put on an epic performance to finish in 21st place.
Amazingly his coach Jordan 'BigBluffzinc' Drummond went one better and bust in 12th place.
The sweat tonight at the final table will certainly be seeing if Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi can pull off a fantastic COOP double, as in 2016 he won the SCOOP Main Event for $1,468,000.88.
