What has the WSOP made in rake this year?

While most players return home from Vegas with less money than when they started, how did the World Series of Poker themselves do this year?

We know that the big winners and losers were at the tables this year at the World Series of Poker, but how did the WSOP itself perform as an operator? 

While we wait for the Main Event final table the folks over at pokerfuse have done a detailed analysis of the 2026 WSOP, by numbers, which includes the rake. 

This year, there were a total of 251,899 entries, which is an all-time record, despite the fact that many of the events saw contraction this year. That includes re-entries; we don't have the statistics on uniques. 

As a result, there was $469.9 million in prize money awarded at the World Series of Poker this year. This year was the fourth biggest Main Event in history, and that created an $85.6 million prize pool, accounting for almost a sixth of the total prize money generated. 

Almost $50 million in rake

Always the most shocking number: $47.3 million was collected in tournament fees, of which $33.1 million was retained by the World Series, and $14.2 million was paid to staff. 

It seems an outlandish number when you consider the number of dealer and TD errors we saw this year. 

Not included in the pokerfuse piece, but we estimate the rake that will be taken this year from the Main Event will be $5,524,800, or almost the second-place prize money. 

These numbers might seem extreme, but don't forget that the World Series of Poker hosts the longest series in the world, and the majority of the events have thousands of runners, some even in the tens of thousands.
