Community Round-up: Community member versus Mike Sexton.
A community member takes on Mike Sexton in a sit and go, "How many more years will poker be popular?" is the hot topic in the forum and news of a completely new and ridiculously random thread. It's that Community Round-up time again.
Our
Community round-up is your weekly source for all that happens inside
the PokerStrategy forums. If you missed something last week and you
still want to be in touch with our community, here are some of the most
important posts.
Community Roundup feedback thread
Poker Blog of the Week
This weeks blog is a great success story. Community member goorukyong, railed and encouraged by his good friend community member juicequadre has made tremendous progress. He admits to initially making a few BRM errors, but has since studied hard and listened to his friends and fellow members. He is currently grinding hard and making great progress and has successfully turned a downswing around. His blog even has a very nice picture of a pizza on it which makes me feel tremendously hungry every time I look at it. Check out the blog for yourself in the following link:

becks777: "Don´t like 3betting vs his utg range. His range is 22+ AJ+ KQ and i think i can call once. River im value betting against 77-99."
Judge Bierbaer: "I like it. I think you could also lead the turn sometimes, with your
hand any J, K and A are still scarecards - and one of them will hit the
river ~25% of the time.
But it's close since he's rarely 2nd barrelling this card as a bluff, so
in some way you filter his range by checking because he will
occasionally bet Qx, 33, 22 and QQ+ at the turn.
On the river it's close again, but i think i'd bet too, since there's
always some chance he's leveling himself into a call with any pair and
AK.

Hot Thread of the week
An interesting topic thread from community member augustuscaesar provoked a lot of discussion this week. Poker has really taken off in recent years largely due to an explosion of worldwide television coverage. augustuscaesar poses an interesting question in his thread:
Moderator News of the week
We are pleased to announce the return of opal99 back into the moderator line up. opal99 is currently taking a break from his mega-poker grinding.
We are also pleased to announce the addition of bierbaer as moderator and hand judge for the No Limit section of the forum.
Meanwhile, dadude77 has decided to take a break from moderating to concentrate on his university studies which include chinese amongst other things, wow.
We would like to greatfully thank dadude77 for all of his help and wish him all the best in his studies and also his new Fixed Limit blog.
Bragging Rights of the week
Community member defhed played a 10 player Single Table Tournament alongside Mike Sexton. Not only that, but he finished with everyone's chips as well. Congrats defhed, nice result.
And finally...
You've spent several hours studying the strategy guides, and yet more concentrating whilst actually playing poker, what do you need now?
What you need now is a ridiculously off topic and random thread with which to relax, read and maybe contribute to. What luck! with thanks to community member dadude77, you have just such a thread:
As always, this is your Community page and whilst I try to browse most
forum threads looking for points of interest, it's of course not
possible to cover everything. So go on, drop me some suggestions and/or
your thoughts on what you would like to appear in this Round-up news
item in the feedback thread (link at the top of the page).
