League of Champions: The Aftermath
The PokerStrategy.com League of Champions came to an end just a few days ago, after English community representative TwiceT managed to take the trophy and $25,000 cash prize. Let's look back at the facts and numbers of this major community event.
It's been almost three months since we launched the PokerStrategy.com League of Champions, the largest community event to date. Since then, we had many matches but also many freerolls for everyone to enjoy.
Here is how League of Champions looks like in numbers:
- 13 communities (16 languages) were represented
- The League of Champions prize pool was $49,500, including the $6,000 added in the last three league matches
- $13,800 were given away in freerolls
- Almost 30,000 PokerStrategists played in the $500 community freerolls
- The whole event series lasted for 86 days
- 35 PokerStrategists took part in the league; 20 of them got their seat in a qualifier, while the other 15 were voted by their respective communities

When all was said and done, English community champion twicet was the last man standing, taking the coveted League of Champions trophy, along with a massive cash prize of $25,000. Congratulations for this wonderful achievement!
Here is how TwiceT made it to the finals:
- He was voted to represent the English community in the League of Champions
- He finished 4th in the league phase with 67 points and qualified for the playoffs phase
- He defeated g3no in Round 1 of the playoffs (score: 2 - 0)
- He defeated szuru in Round 2 of the playoffs (score: 2 - 0)
- He defeated maxippouce in Round 3 of the playoffs (score: 2 - 1)
- He defeated arem in the League of Champions Grand Final (score: 3 - 1)
It was definitely not an easy road for TwiceT, especially the playoff phase, as he played in all the heads-up rounds. Regarding this last phase, he said in an interview for PokerStrategy.com that "heads-up is just about getting into your opponent's head".
"My first goal was to reach the playoffs, which I achieved, so I am satisfied with the outcome so far. My second goal now is to win the league", he said when he managed to reach the playoffs.

Party in Vienna
When asked what he would do with the money, should he win the League of Champions, TwiceT said: "If I ship the $25,000, there will be a party in Vienna for sure. I have to do the King Julien dance on video, which should be great fun."

Now that he won the first place prize, TwiceT has announced that he will keep his promise and hold a party in Vienna. The event itself is set to take place on the 27th of November and he already created a schedule for all those interested in taking part.
