PokerStrategists on Tour: The Lyon VIP Tour Event
The latest stop on the PokerStrategy.com VIP Tour saw our Diamond and Black Members head to Lyon for a day of racing simulation, a Sit & Go championship and of course dining and drinks!

The PokerStrategy.com VIP Tour stop in Lyon, France, was a great success as our VIPs experienced the fantastic I-Way World - a sleek, futuristic motor racing simulation. In addition there was plenty of poker played, plenty of fun times shared and plenty of food and drink.
The journey to Lyon
psmike arrived at Lyon late on June 25 and got his first look at the impressive I-Way World, with its modern stylings and excellent - loud - racing simulators. The next day, it began: after a meeting with the I-Way Event Manager Alexandre and a struggle with DHL to receive the merchandising sent from Hamburg we were ready to begin.
Racing with cards...
The Sit & Go Team Championship was set up with six tables of players beginning with 2,000 chips. Finally, our VIPs could come and take their bracelets - not the gold WSOP ones but the arguably better PokerStrategy.com bracelets giving them credit at the bar.
A total of 40
Diamond and
Black Members arrived in Lyon for the event, coming from France, Switzerland and other European countries, including one member all the way from China. After an hour of welcome drinks the Sit & Go Team Championship was set to begin. The event was eventually won by team "The Retarded".
... and racing with (simulated) cars
That evening, the racing simulators and the buffet were given the green light. The endurance race was won by olibator who was conspicuously absent (perhaps at the buffet?) when it was time to collect his prize - until "I'm Olibator! I'm the best! Thank you thank you..." Of course this was not our winner but instead zikbond attempting to claim the prize himself.
olibator made the podium again in the Formula 1 race, placing in third behind bebean90 and winner menacemax.
Then, of course, it was 10pm and it was time for everyone to go to bed - or not! One group of VIPs and staff headed, naturally, to the casino as another took off on a clubbing barge down the Rhone. What happened on these excursions isn't fully remembered by all, suffice to say that the groups met up again for breakfast at 5am.
psmike could divulge more, but "what happens in Lyon stays in Lyon".
