The EPT's latest Main Event in Vienna is currently in full swing, but away from the €5,300 tournament Eugene Katchalov has found himself a slice of glory.
After anteing up €2,200 to play in the Eureka Vienna High Roller event, the Ukrainian born pro managed to overcome 454 players to lift his first tour title and take home €149,400.
In the final throes of the tournament Katchalov managed to find his way past the likes of Dominik 'odompl' Panka before beating fabled online PLO specialist, Nikolaus Jedlicka, heads-up.
Whilst Katchalov was adding another six-figure score to his bankroll, the field in the EPT's Main Event took another step closer to a final table last night as 176 players became just 50 in the race for the €816,000 top prize.
Millar in The Telegraph

| Mr. Millar |
Since stepping out of the shadows and into the light of a PokerStars sponsorship deal, Alex 'Kanu7' Millar has become more of a familiar faces on the European circuit.
Having once dominated the high stakes games under a cloak of anonymity, the British pro is now working to increase his media profile by penning strategy articles for broadsheet newspapers such as The Telegraph.
Known as one of the UK's most respected news publications, the piece by Millar might be a break from The Telegraph's traditional content but it's certainly another positive step for the poker industry.
Although Millar's strategy advice was relatively basic - be sensible with your money, think about ranges and be consistent with your bets - the national exposure both he and poker gained from the article should prove valuable.

Question of the Day
During Day 3 of EPT Vienna's Main Event the following hand occurred:
The board reads: 5-6-7-J-9 and Player A bets 36,000. Player B goes into the tank and gets the clock called on him before sliding out a stack of chips to make the call.
Player A flips over his hand (8-8), but the stack of chips Player B put out was 60,000 which meant he had to raise the minimum (72,000). Player A calls the raise and wins.
