Braiding is not difficult, at the moment I just can make a ponytail or a bun, while the bun is awkward when wearing a cap at tennis. :f_ugly: Normally I had pretty French- English or Dutch braids. And now..........patience is required

The Fleeting Nature of Equity

Aequitas evanescant pepedi quasi in ventum

I need the help of a latin scholar.
The above is the best I could do, but "evanescant" is the wrong tense for "vanishes"
Google renders it "vanish"

A few other verbs I tried yield "disappear" -- which would be OK -- but "disappears" is better gramatically.

The phrase should be:

Equity vanishes like a fart in the wind

Although this is true of all forms of poker it is especially true in Omahahaha

Look what happens to UTG+1 in today's hand...
PokerStars - $0.02 PL Hi/Lo - Omaha Hi/Lo - 7 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG: $0.94 (22.92/4.17/0.00/48 (V/P/3/H)
UTG+1: $6.21 (35.52/14.60/7.64/426 (V/P/3/H)
MP: $1.01 (86.85/20.18/11.68/868 (V/P/3/H)
Hero (CO): $4.26
BTN: $2.00 (37.10/0.00/0.00/124 (V/P/3/H)
SB: $2.23 (29.17/0.00/0.00/24 (V/P/3/H)
BB: $2.46 (14.29/14.29/50.00/7 (V/P/3/H)

SB posts SB $0.01, BB posts BB $0.02

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.03) Hero has 7♠:A♣:4♣:2♦:

fold, UTG+1 calls $0.02, MP raises to $0.09, Hero raises to $0.32, fold, fold, fold, UTG+1 calls $0.30, MP raises to $1.01 and is all-in, Hero calls $0.69, UTG+1 calls $0.69

Flop: ($3.06, 3 players) A♥:5♣:Q♥:
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $1.10, UTG+1 raises to $5.20 and is all-in, Hero calls $2.15 and is all-in

Turn: ($9.56, 3 players) J♣:

River: ($9.56, 3 players) A♠:

Results:
UTG+1 shows 6♣:3♥:2♣:J♥: (Two Pair, Aces and Jacks) <--Nut low draw shoving here to try to drive out weak high hands. He also has a decent flush draw, and had the river been a heart 8 or less, he would have scooped the entire, fairly substantial pot

Main Pot [$3.06]: (Pre 34%, Flop 50%, Turn 42%) <--Loses: There is no lo hand
Side Pot#1 [$6.50]: (Pre 44%, Flop 55%, Turn 44%)

Hero shows 7♠:A♣:4♣:2♦: (Three of a Kind, Aces)

Main Pot [$3.06]: (Pre 31%, Flop 14%, Turn 21%)
Side Pot#1 [$6.50]: (Pre 56%, Flop 45%, Turn 56%) <-- Wins side pot

MP shows 3♦:4♦:A♦:8♥: (Three of a Kind, Aces)

Main Pot [$3.06]: (Pre 35%, Flop 35%, Turn 38%) <-- Wins main pot due to better kicker

MP wins $2.96
Rake paid $0.30
Hero wins $6.30

When I was streaming, I was playing 3 tables, and on PokerStars, when everyone is all-in, there are little red tags that show your equity.

As I was playing on another table, I watched mine go 14, 21, 0. Dang!
I then noticed $6.30 get added to my stack, and was woefully confused. So befuddled that I sat out and ran through the hand in the replayer.

That's when I learned something I somehow missed in the last 9 years -- the equity tags only show the main pot equity.

<sigh>

I think the word you're looking for is "evanescit". "Evanescant" is third person plural present subjunctive.
Other possible verbs could be "demorit", "deficit" or "denascit".

Not sure about "pepedi", the word I found for that bodily function was "bombulum", which has an amusing ring to it.

Also, I believe we may have to use the dative case of "ventus", so it should be "in vento".

Is anyone else having flashbacks to Monty Python's Life of Brian?

Mis-click Equity

Yeah -- it really is a thing!

Today while getting ready for my streaming session, I mis-clicked and regged for a $15 tournament that had already been running for nearly two hours.

I doubled up in the first few hands, won a few, lost a few, then got a couple of flips and a couple of monster hands and ended up on the final table. Finished 7th of 113 for $64 bux

I also played a bunch of NL 6 Unfold
Fun format -- not handled by PT4 yet, though

Here is a hand history in which two people unfold.
I have not yet figured out at what time the amount for the unfold pot is pain in.
There is a $0.02 unfold ante, and at the time you enter the pot it appears that pay an amount equivalent to the ante total -- yet your stack doesn't drop at that point.

Have a great weekend!

I hate computers.
My main one has failed, and I'm writing this using my wife's old laptop.

Hopefully fixed soon!

Well, I'm back, and the computer is fixed.
Well no, technically it isn't -- I had to disable the on-board ethernet and install a PCI ethernet card. I'll leave the motherboard broken.

We had a great trip, despite over 500 wildfires burning in British Columbia. Hopefully that link will take you to an interactive web page showing all the fires. Our re-union was in Creston -- in the Southeast corner.
If you zoom in (roll your mouse) and look for the town of Creston (about half way between Cranbrook and Trail), you'll see a large fire just west of there.
On Thursday night Aug 16, we were the last vehicle through before the closed the highway due to that fire. As we drove along the highway, there were trees burning right to the edge of the road. Quite exciting. I thought I was getting pictures on my dashcam, but the camera function wasn't on -- doh! I did have it on on the way home, so I'll look for some good pics.

This was the first time we ever used an RV for camping -- previously we had always used a tent. Quite the change!

All the best,
VS

The Unfold challenge is complete:
I lost $16.29 overall (100 session-tables, no idea how many hands), but gained back $10 by completing the challenge.

It was an interesting experience. My first impression was that the format favoured tight players, but if you take the $0.02 unfold ante into account, perhaps it would be better to err toward the LAG end of the spectrum.

Following the stream today, I spent a few hours going over the dashcam video from our trip, and hopefully there will be a few highlights here shortly.

All the best,
VS

In all honesty after playing on it for a few days now it is a fun format but need more players to be good to grind

I've been playing more PLO8 tournaments lately.

They are slow...! The problem is that there are so many split pots, where somebody gets the low pot.

Here's one that didn't get away...

350/700 PL Hi/Lo - Omaha Hi/Lo - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

MP+1: 8,793 (28.45/0.00/0.00/117 (V/P/3/H)
MP+2: 33,188 (10.00/0.00/0.00/10 (V/P/3/H)
CO: 12,250 (15.84/8.00/4.35/104 (V/P/3/H)
Hero (BTN): 33,503
SB: 21,547 (36.67/1.67/0.00/61 (V/P/3/H)
BB: 31,458 (25.00/3.57/0.00/28 (V/P/3/H)
UTG: 40,010 (38.64/15.91/7.69/44 (V/P/3/H)
UTG+1: 46,241 (61.11/22.22/0.00/18 (V/P/3/H)
MP: 9,792 (10.00/2.86/6.25/70 (V/P/3/H)

SB posts SB 350, BB posts BB 700

Pre Flop: (pot: 1,050) Hero has A♠:T♣:4♣:4♠:

fold, UTG+1 calls 700, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 700, SB calls 350, BB checks

Flop: (2,800, 4 players) 8♦:K♠:7♥:
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks

Turn: (2,800, 4 players) 5♠:
SB bets 1,400, BB calls 1,400, fold, Hero calls 1,400

River: (7,000, 3 players) Q♠:
SB bets 3,500, fold, Hero raises to 17,500, SB calls 14,000

Hero shows A♠:T♣:4♣:4♠: (High: Flush, Ace High, Low: 8754A)

Hero wins 42,000
(note that on this site, you never see mucked hands)

I ended up finishing up 5th where I was all in OTT with top two pair, a flush draw and a straight draw, and all my outs missed and villain got HIS flush and another player got the low. C'est la vie!

Played PLO hi today, but couldn´t make it ITM, too bad PartyPoker doesn´t offer much PLO8 _cry: I think there are only a couple of PLO8 MTTs per day and at times I can´t make it (work or sleep _ugly:). I think PartyPoker should offer more variants.

Well that was fun!

On yesterday's stream, I played a freeroll on GGPoker, which is a skin of Natural 8 (I think -- they're affiliated somehow)

These are wild -- in the early stages, people are shoving really wide, and I kept on getting hands to call them with (and sometimes sucking out massively)

But in the end, there was this...

There's more -- because I won the freeroll, I also won an avatar -- I didn't even know that this was a thing
So, because this was the "Chinese Zodiac Tiger" freeroll I get the tiger avatar...

I might have preferred a more ferocious looking tiger -- like this one...

The face painting was done by my niece, who along with her fiancé do face painting for a living -- and theatrical makeup as well.

Have a great weekend...

She does indeed -- and the colour is totally real.

I won a seat into WCOOP-20-L this morning, but spewed it away trying to bluff BvB with KKxxx vs 2 crappy pair.
Neither of us hit, and he left w/ all my chipsies.
He rather should not have called a shove w/ 99XXx, but did So it goes.

I re-entered, since I had budgeted $11 for the tournament, and I got in for $1.10.
I cashed in the 3rd tier up from the bottom, but the big story is that I rode a < 10 BB stack from 380/404 all the way down to ITM. I felt really good about that -- I would have felt better, if I had doubled up two or 3 times.

I did have some good hands :
https://clips.twitch.tv/CreativeHorribleJaguarNerfRedBlaster
If that doesn't work, look for "The Hand I needed when I needed it"

Next stream will be tomorrow, but no WCOOP until Saturday...

All the best,

It´s a very nice strawberry-blonde. When I was younger, like in my 20ties I used to bleach my auburn hair to get exactly this strawberry-blonde color. I wore this color about 8 or 10 years until I went back to auburn or went full ginger (full ginger at the moment).

Y'know -- that is one of the things I fail at when streaming.
We're not supposed to be results oriented, but viewers want to know...

I think that before you got there I had already cashed in the PLO8 nooner, but pretty much right after that I dropped a stack to a better full house in the PLO8 cash game. I got that back after you left, ending up a few bux.

Hopefully you can make it by Friday.
I am going to play a bunch of tickets I've won in spins and freerolls lately.
I have a ticket to the Royal Crown freeroll on 888, and I have tickets on GGPoker to play in a couple of bounty hunters.

One of the Zodiac freerolls that I won had top prize of a $6.30 ticket into a satellite for a $31.50 bounty hunter -- which I also one.

So Friday, we'll be playing that $31.50 as well as at least one of the $2.10 bounty tickets I have.

We'll fill in with some ACR on-demand tournaments or maybe some Omahahaha cash.

See you there!
