New Kid On The Blog

Played some live poker tonight, in some house with a bunch of people who play there constantly.
It was 9 of us and blinds were .10€/ .20€ .Min buyin was 50bbs and I went for 100 so, 20€.
I play live cca 2x/month in average but I never played as good as I did tonight.
Obviously studying and improving my understanding of game showed its effect here.
I knew where to fold where I had hand and was behind, also found profitable spots to bluff and changing gears + polarising ranges made people crazy.
They never knew if I had a hand or I was bluffing.
Occasionally I showed them bluffs and sometimes when I had monster, mostly I mucked hands.
At one point I was 400bis deep and guy decided he had enough of my "bluffin" so he shove me 3bet with ATo.
I had KK, so I called him, but unfortunately he hit A on flop.
Nothing to do about it.
I think I could of squeeze few more streets of value in some hands, here is one :

A loose passive player from MP1 calls and also loose passive plaver from MP3.

Turn changed nothing, so obviously he had a weaker K,he could of play set that way,but there is nothing I can do about it, since hes so passive.So am way ahead or way behind here.He calls many high cards,so I gave myself way ahead ,since not many cards beats me anyway(44,77,KK and 79s which he wouldnt pay 7bb raise preflop anyway).
I went for a 2.5x raise, but maybe I should minraise him and give him a chance to pay me here, with KQ,KJ,KT hands???

I was card dead and folded like 15 hands in a row which in live is cca 20mins of play, so I decided to limp IP here along with 3 other players.

THey all check and I went for a PSB.
A very loose guy called.
I am not worried about him too much since he will call any OC and chase draws to death.

Pot is 1.8€

Turn: A
It was a perfect card for me to barrel again, since I am in position and he would of bet it he had it
he check and I bet 1/2pot again, he called

Pot is 3.6€

river : 5

All draws missed, I have a set and a decent kicker, so I must be ahead here.
Since he bluffed a missed draw on river 1. hour earlier I played some hollywood and decided to check and give him a chance to induce a bluff.
He made PSB and i raised him to 3x,he called.

Pot is cca 15€

He showed 7 5

I took a pot,but the question that poped in my mind was, should I go Allin here?
The only weaker hand that would call me is 5 with worst kicker and possible A6 and those are in hes range according the way he played it.
And better one are : 56,33,66,A5,K5 and all are in could be in hes range here, but since board is wet, I would face some re raise against him before, therefore it was pretty unreal of him holding better hand here.

I would like to think some other opinons about those 2 hands .

Overall I ended a night with 65€ which is 325bb so 225bb up.

Playing tonight really boost my confidence and gave me motivation to continue on improving my game and play smart.

This days I had tons of other stuff to do , so I haven't played alot.
But something funky happened to me.
I managed to run out of the fuel in my car for the first time ever.
It was actually pretty funny experience.
I was driving on my reserve for couple of days which is nothing unusual for me.
So that night I went out, to get with a friends to drink few beers and have fun.
Later we went to the other friends whos house was on other part of town.
She was home alone and her father has pretty nice collection of alcohol ,so we decided to take a little advantage of it.
Meanwhile I borrowed my car to a friend to get some other folks there and forget that he doesnt have a car and there will be girls in it, so I guess he will try to show off a little bit, which he did.
It didnt bother me at time, since I was bit drunk and in party surroundings.
Since I was kinda drunk a friend asked me to sleep at her house, which I intend but somewhere along the line I changed my mind and decided to go home around 2am.
As usual, sit in my car, turn music to maximum and drive thru the routes where i knew the police wont be.
100m infront of my house my car suddenly died.
At first I was bit surprised than it crossed my mind that must be fuel.
So I said to myself, no biggie,if those guys can pull trucks and trains I can push my 1,3k kg heavy car for 200ms.
Went out tried to push and at first it went ok, than there was a bit of hill, and at the middle of it I gave up.
I hate givving up but there was nothing more to do.
I made couple of phone calls to my friends, turn on some nice music and chill out.
I found an non aclohol beer in my car( still dont know how it came there in first place), but it felt really nice in the atmosphere.
3 of my buddies came to help me and other 2 came later just to make fun of me :).
We pushed the car, re fuel it and since it was cold and we did some exercise we sobered out a little bit which was ok.
I have to practice more that pushing in case it happens again.
I mean if those guys can push trains I can train myself to push my car around neighbourhood.

Btw since my car is fueled by diesel yesterday I spent half of the day figuring out how to turn damn engine on.
Am not much of mechanic anyways, so agian I called a friend who stopped by and within a minute engine was on.
At least i bought him a beer and pizza.

Now some more poker related stuff :

I ve menaged to play 10k hands this month so far, so its obvious that my 30k hands in feburary wont work out.
Am ok with it,since I devoted some more time to studying of the game and posted a lot hands in hands evolution forums.
If I manage to get to this 15k it will be just as good .

I am overly satisfied with my game but as Gerv pointed out, there is tons of space for improvement.
My winrate after 10k hands is 10bb/100, but I making so many small mistakes and some bigger one when am on tilt, that if I correct that I can easly double that winrate.
And its not winrate that worries me, its my lack of understanding the game, hand reading which in general kills my confidence.
I ve posted a thread about how to improve your handreading and putting people on ranges skill here , and some guys gave me nice ideas.
Am gonna read those Harringtons books as soon as possible.
I ve figured out that my preflop play could use some more improvement, so this days am workin on my notes from Vereens moving thru micros manual and The pokerblueprint, to clear things out there.
Once I clear that up am moving onwards.

One great news is that I menaged to convince guys from pokerstrategy to look again at my TAF case and they decided that I can get my 95$ of TAF money.
I have to say that Hadi and MichaelM were very kind and very devoted to clear things, so I feel need to thank them again.
The second important thing about this is that I have confidence in pokerstrategy.com again and dont feel that they want to scam me.

My non sd worries me,since sometimes I just cant give up and pay off more than I need to.
Yesterday I was -2bis down at one point and all of those were from non sd.
In general I findmyself in lots of situations where am not sure what to do, and am gonna try to correct that as much as possible.

My current br is 160$ and I ve decided t oadd 95$ from TAF to that ,so its 255$, which is ok for playing on nl10 .
I think am gonna play some more on nl5, till I clear my head up and develop more solid postflop play, and than hit nl10 and hopefully crush it.

Am off for a coffee and study poker in local library.

LAst night played probably the worst poker am capable of playing.
In first 100 hands I menaged to won a stack than dead card period came where I lost it all, started to tilt to a fish, who sat right on my right, and coudlnt fold a hand to me, but always hit.
MY bad was that I tried to bulffe them few times with fireing 2 bullets etc, but when I had hand he would won.
He sucked out with A2 against my QQ, than my AA lost almost 70bb against hes flush( he had 3 of diamons and 4 diamond on table).,
Funny thing was that he lost all pots against other players ...sucks
When he left other fish came on other table and put me in similar situation.

She did it for me and I just couldnt fold.
Since she would do it with any A,porbly with T and also with FD, to try to push me away.
I called and she showed me T6o!

I think I broke something at this point.
She menaged to took another stack from me, but later I calmed down, re-collect and took my $$ back and some more of her.
But spew my $$ all over other tables, so when I look back in retrospect my -2bis doesnt look so bad.

I got myself 2 sweating partners and rorllsh is coming back soon, so I think intense sweating can began soon.

Yesterday was strange day overall.
Will began with poker.
Friday evening I had some slight smell of ds so I stopped poker after 800 hands and went out to party.
Yesterday in the morning, I deided to try some NL10, so I opened 2 tables and menaged to lost 2bis within first 200 hands.
I had 2 bad beats where my three of a kind run onto FHs and guess I cannot hit nothing to beat those 60+/5 players, so I lost few good hands against Flushes on river.
Happens.
I sweated some with SneakyhanD but he had to go play live soon, so I was on my own.

Later in the afternoon I had another sweat session with my new sweatting partner from Cech Republic.
Hes name is Matus and currently hes crushin nl10 and playin nl25 SH.
I played for 30 mins than it was hes turn.
He seems to be cool guy, and sweating with him is pretty cool, and also pretty good poker player as my "skillfull" eye could obsereve.

LAter in the evening I had another sweatting session with W34z3L.
Hes playing nl50,so he was actally doing me a favor to sweat me.
I was impressed by his pokerskills, he certanly looks like someone who knows hes shit, and pointed out few leaks that I might have, and also tough me few really hands tricks I could use.
He gave me few advices about poker literature that I should use etc.
I think he is really cool guy.
Adam if you will ever read this, thx man for staying with me, when my computer almost died and all you could see were few frames/second moving .
I think I ve fixed that black& white think so next time hopefull you will enoy 24bit colors of my screen.
I will make sure to put some really colour rich background to emphasise its effect - lol.

Anyway my day ended -27$ ,which is like 1/2 of my earnings over 10k hands on nl5.But I played well, learned something and am sure, I will get big chunk of rakeback, so it will compensate :).
I would like to thank to all the guys who are helping me and hopefully will find a way to pay them out somehow.
At this point I am not concerned about my earnings a lot.
My focus is to learn as much as possible and fix my leaks, and am sure results will come.

I went out last night to get blasted and get some girls.
I menaged to get blasted, but dint managed to get nothing worth to mention with girls(makeouts dont count here, am bit too old to be satisfied just by that.
I think I have few leaks there, which I need to solve
I cant say I am not dissapointed, but Rorllsh said he was also going out for similar reasons, so am still waiting for him to contact me and hopefully say, he had better results.

I officially thing FTP hates me and my feeling toward that poker house at the moment are pretty much the same.
Played Rush tonight and over 2k hands menaged to lose 4bis on NL5.
First HEm didint want to cooperate with Rush table, secont I feel like the biggest unluck box ever.
Big bowl of bad luck !
And second whatever I played I managed to lost.

I lost stack with 33 on A :heart:4 :heart:K :spade:A :spade:3 board.

After my initial raise and cbet I was ready to give up the hand.
Turn was c/c and river brings an 3.
I bet and the villain raise, so I was more than happy to push all in ,since I put him on A or a spade flush .
He turn on 44.
THat cost me 160bbs

Next hand was AQs on Q87 board, when donk showed me hes 87.
Then I menaged to lose AA vs 89s preflop AI where he picked up 89 on flop.
After that my game was real mess.

After start upswing of 60$ I am now meanged to loose it all and my all graph on nl5 is -20$ after 15k hands.
As I wrote before bad beats didnt bothered me much but honestly I am afraid of this shit my br on ftp came from 270$ to 190$ and I dont know what else to do.
I am beaten and discouraged and dont know where to go at this point.
Kinda scared to play on FTP atm but I am positive everything will be ok , I cant just give up when bad times come.
I need to study and improve to beat this game.

Downswing downswing, here I come...

I ve been very spewy with my money lately.
To that matter that I tihnk I should change my avatar on FTP to ATM machine.
It all started by good play and bad beats, than I next stage was that it began to influent me emotionaly and next step was that I began to tilt much earlier than i should.
When I had deadcard period, when my AK didnt hit and fish just wont fold to my barrels, to the point where i called 3bet with 89s and push AI on 835 board against nitty guy.Ofc he showed up with AA and I lost.
So after last night session I am almost at b/e after 15k hands and I cannot say that i am proud on myself, pretty much the opposite.

Few days ago I accidentaly pop in on staking forums and saw Gervs thread for coaching deals he offered.
I was a one day behind the dead line, so I decided to give him a bump on skype and ask if it still possible to extend it for a day, so I can send my own.
He put me to test with askin " Gimme one good reason why should I extend it for ya?" , and since I am cool guy I told him, couse I am cool, and we had a deal.
Well it didnt turned out that way, but after typing some 15 lines of txt I managed to convince him that i just might have what it takes, so he gave me one day to send application.
He also pointed out that he expecting from me to do my best with it.
So I did.
Spent pretty much all afternoon writing it.
In the end it looked quite what I want it to be, so I sent it.

Few days of waiting and guess what ....

I AM IN THE TEAM!

I have coaching deal with Gerv and my coaching starts tomorrow.
There is few of us in the group and first impressions about guys and this whole deal are awesome.
I will do best of my part to keep it this way.
I have to say that i am very excited about it, especially since this downswing made me realise that I have tons of things to correct and this group will be great motivation for me to push myself towards it and also as Gerv on my side I think I will be thru it pretty soon.

I will come here later to opst some goals for march, looking forward to it.

I ve been putting this for some time, but the time has come to update it and get back to blogging again.
Well whats up to me lateley.
Nothing much I would say, but many things happen .
Well am now playing on nl10 on 888 poker.
Currently in pretty swingy stage, after downswing,but expecting to move up pretty soon,due to soft oponents on that limit andmy detemrination to play, and improve.
coachings with Gerv have been postponed till september, due to summer, hollydays,but I am more detement than ever, to come back to school at least 1 limit higher, 200k hands behind me and with improved mindset.
Now my poker schedule is , play from 10pm-1 am with pauses in it ,go to bed, wake up at 8,post and analyse hands I marked in session last night,study (watch a video o read abook ) till 11-12 , than take a brake and do rl stuff.

ITs been workin out for me for like 2 weeks which is ok .
I also signed up to BSS Basic SChool , to maintain poractivty and momentum.
So far in that school pretty basic stuff,which never hurts to refreash and soon am expecting some serius stuff to begin .

What I am most proud of is that my understanding of the game and hand reading is much better than it used to be.
